We have a good one for you today. Anyone remember the major propaganda mission where Israel used the Haiti disaster to try and deflect away from Gaza? how quickly they mobilised and shot into gear then proclaimed themselves humanitarian hero's to the world. Whilst back at home in the Middle East they continued to treat Palestinians living in Israel and the West Bank as 2nd class citizens by demolishing their homes and shooting and beating them. The Palestinians in Gaza remain in what the world describes as an open air prison in starvation condition under an illegal siege of collective punishment. This on the heels of Cast Lead which left 1400 dead, including almost 400 children. Yeah, Israel, the king of human rights.
So, now the mighty propaganda hasbara team have another big idea, but as always, it's another "FAIL" as there is a big "Israeli" problem. First check this out:
Israel gets rare opportunity to lead an international battle against violation of human rights: A convention of the Kimberley Process, an initiative that has been fighting against trade of blood diamonds since 2000, will open on Monday in Tel Aviv and representatives from dozens of countries will gather to discuss the recent trouble with Zimbabwe.Ooops not so fast there little Israeli hasbara people, you forgot one big fat glaring thing, THIS:
The Kimberly Process, with Israel as its current president, has aimed at putting an end to trade of blood diamonds, and ensuring that diamonds that are sent to jewelry companies across the world are extracted in a fair process
Lev Avnerovich Leviev is a Bukharian-Israeli[2] billionaire businessman, with a net worth of roughly $1.5 billion following the 2008 global financial crisis.[3] Leviev has been described as one of the wealthiest Jewish individuals in the world [4] and has been a major philanthropist for Jewish causes in Eastern Europe and Israel.[5] His diamond mining investments in Angola and his investments in Israeli settlements have been the target of protests.[6]And here's more on how he treats his Blood Diamond employees:
New York Magazine reported in 2007 that a security company hired by Leviev had been accused by a local human rights group that year "of participating in practices of 'humiliation, whipping, torture, sexual abuse, and, in some cases, assassinations.'[14] Leviev did not directly respond to the charges, but noted his charitable activities in Angola.[14
