UK Resident TRAPPED In Gaza

When will Egypt STOP behaving like Israeli Agents? Evidently Israel has more than one way to censor free expression and Egypt assists them. A Palestinian born playwright and UK resident entered Gaza through the Rafah border and is now being refused exit at Rafah by Egypt, effectively trapping him inside Gaza. His play, titled "Go to Gaza, Drink the Sea" opened in London in February and he was due to be in Edinburgh this week for rehearsals there.

A PALESTINIAN playwright whose Fringe play tells of the Israeli assault on the Palestinian territory of Gaza has become trapped there on his first visit in seven years.
Ahmed Masoud is a UK resident whose wife is expecting their first child in October. He went to Gaza to visit his mother after a cancer operation and has been unable to leave.

His play, Go to Gaza, Drink the Sea, opened in London in February, just after the Israeli military operation in Gaza, blamed for the loss of more than 1,000 Palestinian lives.

Masoud, who has a Palestinian passport, but is a legal British resident, got into Gaza when the Rafah border crossing from Egypt was briefly opened. When he tried to leave by the same route, he was turned away.

Is anyone paying attention here?

In Palestine, what do you do when you have an Election coming in 6 months, you are a corrupt party, you don't have the majority of support of Palestinian people and you are backed by Israel and the US? Why of course, you postpone the elections for ANOTHER 2 years. During which time you will continue to work as agents for America and Israel (who recently gave you weapons) to use against your own people, to come up with a plan to overthrow or kill-off in a bloody coup, your opponent who actually does have the majority of support. The Jerusalem Post quoted a senior Israeli military official who said that the Palestinian Authority preferred to postpone the elections scheduled for next January to 2012.

Hamas has repeatedly condemned the PA, which is led by the US-backed President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, for delaying previous elections. It maintains that since elections were postponed, Abbas' term technically ended in January of this year and that he is no longer the legitimate president of Palestine.

This is true. Would Americans allow Bush to just extend his term for another 4 years, I doubt it! But America supports Abbas in doing so. That's not democracy, it's dictatorship.

Israeli official claimed that Abbas was happy with the internal Palestinian state of affairs, and would stop any effort to make a deal with Hamas. It also reported that the PA, in cooperation with the US and EU, was building more prisons in the West Bank, presumably to house Hamas arrestees. link

So, let's take a look at the history of US involvement in backing the corrupt Israeli agent FATAH party. Anyone who thinks Obama is any different than Bush is not paying attention. Obama kept this Bush guy: Lieutenant General Keith W. Dayton, United States Army, is currently the U.S. Security Coordinator for the Israel-Palestinian Authority in Tel Aviv, Israel. He has also served as the Director of the Iraq Survey Group, right, there's some "real change" for ya! Yeah, keep him involved, because Iraq was "such" a success.........So we have a military agent working in a position that is supposed to come with an impartial eye towards resolving the I/P conflict, yeah right. The State Department has in the past denied that America's non-lethal training of the presidential guard of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah

But at the hearing Dayton highlighted the US role in helping Fatah as it faces attacks from the Islamic radicals in Hamas.

"We are leading, through the acts of this Congress, the international effort to possibly affect this worrisome situation," he said. "The security assistance plan that you have authorized me to just begin to implement is pointing the way forward for all international and regional allies."

Hmmmmm "Regional Allies" code words for Israel, where, of course Dayton is stationed, how cozy. Now, here comes the money:

Congress recently allowed $59 million to be used to further Dayton's efforts at training the presidential guard of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah.

The money, however, didn't go through the normal appropriation process, as the White House took previously approved funds and simply reallocated them.

"We are entering a rough patch," Dayton acknowledged, "but all is not lost and our regional partners share that sentiment.

Surprise!! There's that troublesome code phrase again; "regional partners"Interested in having a little proof that FATAH are truly American and Israeli agents? Well, here' ya go, right from the mouth of Col Dayton himself when he spoke to the Middle East subcommittee in Washington in 2007:

"Nothing we do to strengthen the Palestinian's security capability will be targeted against Israel … The presidential guard will not become a threat to Israel." source

Check out that last line "The presidential guard will not become a threat to Israel" Why? because they are working for and with the US and Israel to overthrow the elected Government of Gaza. To remove democracy in a US/Israeli/FATAH coup. So what does HAMAS have to say today about all of this?

Israeli Agents Will Open Rafah for 3 Days

Gaza's sole border with Egypt will open next week for three days. Awe, how nice of Israel to “allow” Palestinians to travel in and out of their country.

In a statement received, the staff member said that the Rafah crossing will open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (27-29 June). Travel will be allowed for people who have been registered with the de facto Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza, in addition to coordination tables received from the Egyptian side.

The sources added that the border staff have coordinated with the de facto Interior Ministry to facilitate the processing of traveling citizens, affirming their concern for applying regulations so as to ensure transparency and impartiality.

Traveling Palestinians will be taken through assembly points and busses only, and it will not be permitted for anyone to gather at the Rafah crossing itself, the statement noted.

"We have kept contact with the Egyptian side during the previous period to ensure the travel of all people who are recorded in the formal tables and to facilitate the process of reaching Egypt, within mechanisms that ensure a speedy entry of busses," it added.

Israel and Egypt have maintained a near-total blockade of the Gaza Strip by land and sea since June 2007, and the quantities and types of goods allowed into Gaza are subject to tight restrictions. According to the UN and aid agencies, some items, such as construction materials needed to rebuild from the recent war, are completely banned. Exports are also prohibited, and Gaza’s 1.5 million residents are banned from travelling. source

Well, she is bragging (in a VERY long winded and overly boring article praising Israel) about how amazing Israel’s intelligence and media are at having things leaked. You see, Israel was able to actually issue a response to the new damning UN report, BEFORE it was actually released . In fact, she goes on to say how Peres was to have had a “harsh talk” with Ban Ki Moon about said report, well before its release. Ensuring he would remove some parts of the report.

If you don’t believe my tin foil hat theory, then clearly Israel has spies within the UN committee carrying out the investigations against Israel’s crimes in Gaza. And that my friends is serious. In an astonishing illustration of the matrix of the Israeli government, the Israeli media, the role of leaking, and attempts to influence international policy and opinion, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) sent out an email at 11:22 this morning [Jerusalem time] denouncing a UN report that has not yet been released. The MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) also partially reveals the contents of a not-yet-sent letter that the UN Secretary-General has addressed to the UN Security Council.

The MFA communique states that "UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will today (Tuesday, 5 May 2009) send to the UN Security Council [in the "letter", apparently] his response to the summary of the report of the internal inspection committee, which he previously formed. The committee examined the events in which nine UN installations were damaged during Operation Cast Lead".

In this letter, according to the statement from Israel's MFA, "Secretary General Ban criticizes the firing of Kassam rockets at Israeli towns, and praises the coordination between the Israel Defence Force (IDF) and the UN during Operation Cast Lead".

This may come as a surprise to some in the UN.

[Tuesday] morning. Peres is expected to have held a harsh talk last night with the secretary general and to demand of him to delay publication. Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman also called the UN secretary general from Rome and had a harsh talk with him. TEHRAN, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Intelligence Minister Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeie said on Sunday that Iran has arrested members of a terrorist network in Tehran who were linked to Israel, the official IRNA news agency reported.

The terrorists who were planning to carry out bombings in Tehran have been identified and arrested, Mohseni Ejeie was quoted as saying.

The "terrorist team" was "linked to Zionist elements," he said, adding that they were intending to cause "disorder" and "insecurity" by launching successive explosions "ahead of the presidential elections" in Iran slated for June 12.

"According to the evidence, the Zionist regime is planning to connect to and guide the anti-revolution elements and to use them as a tool for its wicked ends," he said, but did not elaborate the details.

An Iranian intelligence ministry counter-espionage official has warned that Iranians should be in alert "about the serious danger of penetration of the Israeli intelligence services to Iran's internet and telecommunications network."

Anti-Defamation League asks MSU to reconsider Tutu

In a letter sent last week, the Anti-Defamation League asked Michigan State University President Lou Anna Simon to reconsider the invitation extended to Archbishop Desmond Tutu to give the university’s commencement address next month.

The Jewish advocacy organization said the South African cleric, whose opposition to Apartheid earned him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984, had made statements about Israel that “conveyed outright bigotry against the Jewish homeland and the Jewish people.”

It said he supports a cultural and academic boycott of Israel “based on ideas that are anti-Semitic and should be anathema to any institution of higher learning truly committed to academic freedom.”

Simon responded earlier this week. She said no.

While noting that university leaders had publicly opposed such a boycott, she wrote in a letter dated Monday, “Michigan State University rejects the notion that free intellectual exchange and scholarly activities should be casualties of political disagreement.”
