Well, what can one say to this? The Israelis have tossed a little breadcrumb to Obama. They have evacuated an illegal settlement, yes, cleared it from its settler cockroach infestation. Now, Now, gentle readers, I know what you're thinking, but don't go getting all misty eyed at the thought of Israel suddenly discovering it really wants peace. Nope, this "settlement" is in fact, a wee tiny group of "huts" inhabited by teenage Zionist cockroaches from the much "larger" settlement of Kokhav HaShahar. So, what we really have here is not the evacuation of a genuine settlement, let's say a settlement that may actually cost the Israelis either money, or political problems. Nope, what we have here is 7 wee tiny huts. Think of them as Zionist Cockroach Teenagers tree houses, just minus the trees and the houses. That is what Israel has given Obama, a big tree house crumb, minus the trees. Story below:
Bethlehem - In what appears to be a gesture to US President Barack Obama Israeli forces evacuated a seven-hut settlement north-east of Ramallah Thursday morning.
The tiny outpost was established in 2005 by residents of the nearby Kokhav HaShahar, and lately inhabited by youth from the settlement. Israeli police reported no violent reaction to the evacuation, the first forcible removal of Israeli settlers since the Ar-Rajabi house incident on 4 December.
The removal followed a Wednesday meeting between Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak and West Bank settler leaders where sides agreed that illegal outposts would be evacuated.
The settlers responsible for the outpost were quoted in the Israeli pres as saying, "The expulsion that is being carried out now is the first phase in Barak's policy to establish a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital that will later turn into a Hamas state."
The move elicited dozens of angry reactions from settler and right-wing groups.
During the news conference following the Washington meeting between Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu the US leader said “Settlements have to be stopped in order for us to move forward.” source
