IT'S HERE!! DUBLIN TO GAZA DAY!!!!

I'm away out the door myself now. For those unaware, today is the live link up with Gaza from Dublin, Ireland. Two cities, one concert!! So proud of the Irish humanitarians, Caoimhe Butterly, Treasa Ni Cheannabhain, and John Ging from UNWRA who are in THIS promo video for the concert tonight interviewing Palestinians, up the Irish!

It's gonna be grand:) Palestinian groups in Gaza and Irish groups in Dublin all performing for both audiences, yea!! There are some absolutely brilliant performers. Inside Gaza the concert will take place on the 3rd floor of the Ministry of Education, in Dublin it's the Tripod. Here's the info, followed by some music videos of the artists, for those who cannot attend, you can get yourself a cold Guinness, sit back, put on your Irish dancing shoes, or Palestinian dancing shoes, and listen to the videos whilst you think of the fun taking place in Gaza for a change:) First this info:
On 16th October, Dublin will extend the hand of friendship to the besieged city of Gaza when a very special concert will be transmitted from Tripod in Dublin LIVE to an audience in Gaza City – Two cities, One concert.

Celebrated Irish musicians Liam Ó Maonlaí, Lumiere, Kíla, Naisrin and Zahara El Safty will be joined on the bill by Palestinian singer Shadia Mansour, renowned political activist Iraqi/English Rapper MC Lowkey who will be joined by the Dublin based Discovery Gospel Choir . A night of brilliant music with a big message, the concert will be broadcast live on a big screen in Gaza city allowing the people of Gaza to enjoy the concert in Dublin and they in turn will say something to the Irish audience.

The evening will celebrate culture and use the power of music to unite people both in Ireland and in the besieged city of Gaza. The organizers hope to focus attention on the ongoing siege in Gaza and also raise much needed funds for the rebuilding of the infrastructure of Gaza.

Filmmaker Dearbhla Glynn recently returned from filming in Gaza and will screen some of her footage from this visit, showing the remaining devastation nine months on from the January attacks. Irish activist Caoimhe Butterly will also speak on the night about her experience working on the ambulances during the January attacks in Gaza.
