This article being carried by the Associated Press is an utter disgrace. The overall tone is that it is a “shame” that the Goldstone report will now “have to go forward” because it will erode any chance for peace. They want you to believe something has now been “lost” Well in my experience you must first actually "have" something in order to then loose it. And we can categorically state that we had "nothing" from Israel, so we cannot lose something we never actually had. But this is what they want you to believe now.
Of course this is because of the war criminals themselves; if they are forced to face up to their crimes then they will take their toys and go home. “No Peace Talks for You Palestine and Obama!!” If the Palestinians want to “talk” to them or if America wants to “talk” to them about Peace, then the law will have to be broken for Israel, thus excluding them from the law. And the world should allow this for more “talk?” Because that is all you get from Israel, is talk. The only action one sees from Israel is the continued land grabbing and expulsion of Palestinians from the West Bank and Jerusalem. Here’s the AP hasbara report below with comments to point out the hasbara and audacity long the way:
A U.N. war crimes report against Israel and Hamas meant to promote justice and accountability has instead created new obstacles for the Obama administration's Mideast peace push and deepened an internal rift among Palestinians.Sorry but what “Peace Push” from Obama would he be talking about here? The one where Obama asks Israel to behave, and then Israel tells Obama they won’t budge on Settlements or Jerusalem? And then Obama says “Ok” And this was WELL before the Goldstone report being back on the table! So let’s not distort the facts here.
Israel says that if the case against it gains steam, the Jewish state will not be able to make the wide-ranging concessions necessary for any peace deal.Ooooh the new "buzz" word. "Wide-Ranging Concessions" Well then, let’s talk about this mystical “carrot” above being dangled in front of the Obama/Abbas donkey. This report sounds like little Israel was planning on giving “wide-ranging concessions” that now won’t take place. Don’t buy into this hasbara, here’s the question: What has been Israel’s excuse for not making those so called “wide ranging concessions” before this report was even written by Goldstone and his team? Given that the UN fact finding mission of Goldstone was called for on January 12, 2009 and not even completed until just weeks ago. And this brings me to Israel’s above excuse again. If Israel wanted to make some deal with Abbas to circumvent the report with the PA’s approval, then where was the so called “prize” for doing so? Would you not think that if Israel had “planned” on making these “Wide-ranging concessions” as reported in this article, that they’d have given the bribe to Abbas ages ago so that Abbas could then claim some manufactured victory to bolster his position? But we did not see any “wide-ranging concessions” at any time, not in January, not in February or March, April, May, June, July August, September or October. But what we HAVE seen is a blatant refusal by Israel to give ANY concessions at all, to Abbas OR Obama on anything what so ever. There were never going to be any “wide-ranging concessions” it’s another carrot in front of the Obama/Abbas donkey that the donkey can never get hold of! Next:
Hamas, the militant group that violently seized control of the Gaza Strip more than two years ago,Notice the careful wording there? Hamas the “militant group that violently seized control of the Gaza strip” Let’s re-write this the correct way shall we? “The Hamas party that won the majority election in Gaza AND the West Bank and was then ousted by FATAH and not allowed to form a unity coalition for government by FATAH, therefore they took Gaza and FATAH took the West Bank.” But let’s not let those pesky facts get in the way of a good “hasbara” article!
(Hamas) Is reaping benefits from the report's fallout, while shrugging off the serious allegations the document makes against its own fighters.Oh this is priceless here. So, Hamas is shrugging off the serious allegations against them? Funny that’s not what I’ve been reading. Instead I’ve read where Hamas is formulating its answers to the report (which Israel can do if it chooses to participate like Hamas is doing) and also Hamas has publicly stated its support for the report, even though there are things against them within the report. Can Israel say the same? Nope! Instead what we really see is Hamas cooperating and Brave Israel trying to run away.
Mahmoud Abbas, the Western-backed Palestinian president whose forces hold sway in the West Bank, has been seriously weakened by perceptions among his people that he caved in to U.S. pressure over the affair. There is no “perception” about Abbas being damaged; it is a self inflicted mortal wound, delivered by his own treacherous hand, against his own people. No blame goes anywhere else. I say again, if there was to be some “wide –ranging concessions” as stated above in this article, then 1. Where were they? And why wouldn’t Israel give them earlier so as to ensure Abbas would “do the deal” and be able to produce a reasonable concession to show what he traded Palestinian victims rights for? And 2. Why would Abbas kill the report BEFORE he was given the prize, I mean bribe? Either way this entire thing makes ZERO sense. We are to believe that Abbas would trade the Goldstone Report right now for an un-named concession later, and this from Israel? And for Israel’s part, we are to believe that during all these months that Obama made his feeble attempts, and Israel gave nothing, while taking more, they now want you to believe they “really were going to make wide-ranging concessions” yet now they cannot? Seriously change the record please.
(Goldstone Report) has largely overshadowed an aggressive U.S. drive to bring Israelis and Palestinians back to the negotiating table. Here’s the “aggressive drive” by Obama:
Obama: I nominate Charles Freeman chair of the National Intelligence Council
Israel: via AIPAC Oh no you don’t we don’t like him; get another one that will do what we want.
Obama: Stop building settlements, they are illegal
Israel: piss off; we do what we want, so there
Obama: Please make some concession and work towards peace, we have to give the Palestinians something, they must have a state
Israel: STFU O-Bambi, we don’t give anything to those rag heads, they’ll never get a state because we plan on taking ALL the land, so there!
This has pretty much been what’s taken place since the great man of “hope” I mean “hype” took office. Next:
Of the report's many unintended consequences, perhaps none was as noteworthy as the fallout from Washington's decision to pressure the moderate Palestinian president into backing down from a demand to press the case against Israel in the United Nations. If I were an American I’d feel sick about this. Your President has been placed in a position of becoming an accessory to a crime, no, make that many crimes. Because Obama lacks the, (let’s use one of Obamas favourite words here) “Audacity” to stand up to Israel and the Israeli lobby inside America. Israel says to all American’s “who’s your daddy now?” Give us that 3 billion per year and we’ll control you at the same time. A strong President would stop the money; hit them in the wallet where it hurts. Cut off that money and see how fast you start getting those “wide-ranging concessions” Israel claims it really wants to give……….next:
While the Palestinians have since reversed course and the case is going ahead this week in New York and Geneva, the damage has already been done. Abbas has been vilified at home as a sellout, and his Hamas rivals are taking full advantage. And yet another idiotic statement about Hamas taking “full advantage” of what Abbas did. Who wouldn’t?? Abbas is an idiot, with at best failing intelligence and at worse nothing more than an Israeli agent. How can that be Hamas’ fault, it was a gift to hamas from Abbas and why should they not point out that the man is deficient and a traitor, he is.
U.S. officials argued that pursuing the case against Israel would hurt efforts to restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.I think that is called “blackmail” However, you won’t see any reports calling it what it actually is. Instead we read twisted sad tales that are meant to make people believe something has now been lost because the report is going forward. No one mentions that Israel has had ample opportunity to show it wants to make peace and move forward, nothing at all before the report, and there would be nothing after the report as well.
When will some brave honest journalist dare to call it what it is, a rogue country attempting to pervert the course of justice, any way it can!
