Ha, more kudos to Ireland for having two showings of “Seven Jewish Children” by Caryl Churchill. Which is a short play written during the recent genocide in Gaza, a ten minute history of Israel, ending with the bombing of Gaza. Keep reading to find out how you can bring this play to your country, city or town! The play opened in London and of course the Israeli “hasbara” machine swung into action, crying “anti-Semitism” and the usual ad nauseam garbage. Because criticizing Israel is “verboten” remember that!

The work consists of seven cryptic scenes in which parents, grandparents and relatives debate how much children should know and not know. It moves, implicitly, from the Holocaust to the foundation of the state of Israel through the sundry Middle East wars up to the invasion of Gaza. At first, the advice indicates the deep divisions within Israel ("Tell her they want to drive us into the sea" / "Tell her they don't"); at the end, it becomes a ruthless justification for self-preservation ("Tell her we're the iron fist now, tell her it's the fog of war, tell her we won't stop killing them till we're safe").
What she captures, in remarkably condensed poetic form, is the transition that has overtaken Israel, to the point where security has become the pretext for indiscriminate slaughter. Avoiding overt didacticism, her play becomes a heartfelt lamentation for the future generations who will themselves become victims of the attempted military suppression of Hamas.

Controversial drama about Gaza bombing to get Irish staging
IT IGNITED a war of words when it was staged at the Royal Court Theatre in London last month: now Caryl Churchill’s controversial 10-minute play Seven Jewish Children is to be given a series of stagings in Dublin and Kinsale.

Churchill (70) wrote the piece as a response to the Israeli bombing campaign in Gaza in January. The script can be downloaded from the internet free of charge, but theatre companies must apply for the right to stage it. No admission fee may be charged, and all proceeds must go to the Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) charity.

Billed as a 10-minute history of Israel, the play consists of seven short scenes in which Israeli parents debate how much to tell their children about various historical events, beginning with the Holocaust and ending with the recent conflagration in Gaza.
In his four-star review the Guardian’s theatre critic, Michael Billington, said “the play solves nothing, but shows theatre’s power to heighten consciousness and articulate moral outrage”.

But as mentioned, here comes the “hasbara” and cries of Anti-Semitism, “Jew Haters” “Jew Bashing” nonsense Israel likes to employ to cover up the real reasons a play such as this would need to be written in the first place. So, the “Board of Deputies of British Jews” springs into action along with a pro Israeli journalist who writes and entire essay on Anti-Semitism to quell the British Zionists.

In a lengthy essay on anti-Semitism in the Independent, however, Howard Jacobson described the piece as “wantonly inflammatory” and “Jew-hating pure and simple”. In the Spectator, Melanie Phillips accused Churchill of “perpetrating incendiary lies about Israel” and “drawing upon an atavistic hatred of the Jews”.

The spokesman of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Mark Frazier, told the Jewish Chronicle: “We knew the play was going to be horrifically anti-Israel because Caryl Churchill is a patron of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.”He added that the title – Seven Jewish Children, rather than Seven Israeli Children – “pushes it beyond the boundaries of reasonable political discourse”.

A group of Irish people is attempting to reach Gaza by boat in time for St Patrick’s Day.

Spokeswoman Elaine Daly said some of the group were members of the Irish Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC), “but the trip is non-party political and organised independently of the IPSC”. Ms Daly said she and 19 others hoped to set sail from Cyprus on a “Free Gaza siege-breaking boat” on March 14th and arrive in Gaza port a day or two later.

I would encourage people around the world to download the script and re-create the play all over the world. As the major crisis in Gaza drops off the news, we must keep the world focused on what Israel has done, murdered thousands of people and over 400 of them being young children! We must all keep pressure on until they are brought to justice for the war crimes they committed, white phosphorous, DIME missiles, depleted uranium, all used on civilian populations! The Russell Tribunal on Palestine will base its work on Experts' and Witnesses' Committees that will establish the facts and build up the legal arguments that will be presented to the Tribunal. National Support Committees will contribute to the preparation of experts' reports, promote popular mobilisation and media coverage and participate in fundraising.
Once the accusation has been fully prepared and the witnesses summoned, the sessions of the Tribunal will be organised at the beginning of 2010 in several major capitals. A jury made up of well-known personalities who are respected for their high moral standing will consider the reports and hear the witnesses for and against.

Demolition plans rattle Arabs in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM // It was a bitterly cold and wet morning to spend outdoors. But for those who gathered at a makeshift tent in the Bustan neighbourhood of Silwan, East Jerusalem, on Sunday morning, it is a situation they fear they may have to get used to.

“I hope it won’t get to that,” said Saleh Shweiki, 56, an herbologist and local resident whose house is threatened with demolition by Jerusalem’s municipal authorities. “I have 13 children and with their children we are 35 people in my house.”

Mr Shweiki and 87 families have lived under the threat of demolition for nearly four years now. The demolition orders were handed down because, according to the municipality, the houses were built without licences in what is designated as a national park area.

Residents, human rights groups and lawyers are crying foul, however. They say the demolition orders are part of a larger Israeli scheme to make life untenable for Jerusalem’s Palestinian inhabitants.

Furthermore, the City of David archaeological park that the area is meant for is funded by a controversial Israeli organisation, El Ad, which is active in promoting building in areas of occupied East Jerusalem exclusively for Jewish housing and in transgression of international law.

The demolition orders were first handed down in 2005, but an international outcry prevented demolitions from being carried out then. A compromise was reached whereby the residents would, at their own expense, put forward a plan for the development of the area.

On Feb 17, however, the municipality rejected that plan. The new mayor in Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, promised more Jewish settlement in the occupied eastern part of the city during his campaign for office. Moreover, he left Ehud Olmert’s Kadima Party because he was adamantly opposed to any future division of the city.

“They [Israelis] may put different reasons for why they want these houses down to why they built Maaleh Admumim [the largest settlement in the occupied West Bank], but the aim is the same. They want Palestinians out.”

Lev Leviev, an internationally known real estate and diamonds magnate, paid money to 60 Israeli state schools through his foundation to teach "traditional values and Jewish culture".

The religious lessons are provided from grades 1 through 6, and are taught by religious female students at teacher training colleges. The teachers discuss the importance of prayer and the Halakhic view of history

Chairman of the Pedagogical Department of the Education Ministry Professor Anat Zohar, the official in charge of approving state educational curriculum, stated that upon review, the courses offered by Leviev "are not suitable for the state schools system."

Ultra-Orthodox businessman Lev Leviev is continuing to run an elementary school program to increase Jewish content in the curriculum, even though the Education Ministry decided the program was unfit to be taught in state schools.

A few months ago, the Leviev Foundation presented the ministry with a second version of the program, but it too was rejected

Some 70 schools in Rishon Letzion ,Netanya ,Petah Tikva and Beit Shemesh are running the program. The Leviev Foundation finances the study hours, books and other materials. The lessons are held in the middle of the school day, so all the pupils are obliged to take part in them.

." The Shenhar Report stated that Jewish studies in state schools should be taught with a secular-humanist, rather than theological, approach.

Parents who tried to find out whether the program was authorized for implementation in their children's school had difficulty getting a clear answer.

"Every time I asked, the school evaded the question," a mother from Netanya said. "I was told I was petty and apparently bored. When I insisted, they promised to get it authorized retroactively."

A mother from Rishon Letzion said, "I did not send my children to a state school to have to ask them what exactly they learned in Jewish identity class. It's impertinent of ultra-Orthodox groups to presume to teach us, the secular people, about Jewish tradition, as though we don't know those things. The most infuriating thing is the Education Ministry's incompetence."

The program, called "Zman Masa," or "Journey Time," is paid for by the foundation of Lev Leviev, a Russian-born Israeli real estate and diamond magnate, who says he was horrified by what he calls a lack of religious education in secular Israeli schools.

The Education Ministry's Pedagogical Department said last year that the courses offered by Leviev are unsuitable. 'WE need Judaization' "Our worldview is mistaken."

We as Jews are obligated to take care of every one of our own, including him. It is written that all of Israel is part of God above, we are part of the Holy One, blessed be he - so for me there's no difference between a Jew in Israel and a Jew abroad.

And why doesn't that happen?

"Because of our behavior, our assimilation, our denial of our Judaism. Every Jew in Israel or in the Diaspora has to know what our roots are, what his ancestors' tradition is, and anyone who thinks otherwise - I say he's simply unfortunate."

So as I mentioned earlier, I wonder what his intention is in England. Why he left sunny Israel, to move to cold rainy England. Is it really because of his financial troubles with AFI Development? Or is there an ulterior motive. Perhaps he is beginning his long global campaign to become Prime Minister of Israel, as he recently stated in an interview in the New York Times where he was quoted as saying he wants to be the Israeli Prime Minister by age 60. Given that he is already 55,we wont have to wait too much longer for the new Zionist Prime Minister of Israel.

Woo Hoo, more on the call for investigation and charges of Israel War Crimes. According to the Guardian today, “Israel may face war crimes trials over Gaza”

Although I doubt that any Israeli will ever stand before a court, as their government protects them when they commit crimes and murder. Still, it will keep the world focused on the criminals that they surely are, and will only further the horrendous world view of Israel. As the world remains focused and outraged, they cannot carry on with “business as usual” by continuing their holocaust in Gaza.

The deliberations would potentially open the way to putting Israeli military commanders in the dock at The Hague over the campaign, which claimed more than 1,300 lives, and set an important precedent for the court over what cases it can hear.



Following talks with the Arab League's head, Amr Moussa, and senior PA officials, moves have accelerated inside the court to deliver a ruling on whether it may be able to insist on jurisdiction over alleged war crimes perpetrated in Gaza, with a decision from the prosecutor's office expected within "months, not years".


The latest moves in The Hague come amid mounting international pressure on Israel and a growing recognition in Israeli government circles that it may eventually have to defend itself against war crimes allegations. The Guardian has also learned that a confidential inquiry by the International Committee of the Red Cross into the actions of Israel and Hamas during the recent conflict in Gaza is expected to accuse Israel of using "excessive force" - prohibited under the fourth Geneva convention.


In the case of Israel, the Red Cross is expected to highlight three areas of concern: the Israeli Defence Forces' "use and choice of weapons in a complex and densely populated environment"; the issue of "proportionality"; and concerns over the IDF's lack of distinction between combatants and non-combatants during Operation Cast Lead. Hamas is likely to be challenged over its use of civilian facilities as cover for its fighters; its summary executions and kneecappings of Palestinians during the campaign; and its indiscriminate firing of rockets into civilian areas.


Yesterday, Ehud Olmert, Israel's prime minister, warned Palestinian militants their continuing rocket attacks on Israel would not go unpunished.


Olmert's warning came as Israel's attorney general notified the prime minister that he was considering indicting him on charges of allegedly taking cash-stuffed envelopes from a Jewish-American businessman. Five corruption cases are pending against Olmert, although he has denied all wrongdoing. His spokesman said yesterday the charges against the prime minister would "disappear in the end".

Olmert is not only a war criminal, but a petty low life criminal as well.

Well, this is some good news for the thousands of Palestinian families who lost someone during the recent Israeli mass genocide in Gaza. Syria and Iran are working together to bring 15 top Israeli officials to justice. Additionally Turkey is also beginning to look into this as well.


Here is the good news for today:

Interpol begins studying Iran's request for the arrest of 15 senior Israeli officials over war crimes committed during the Gaza offensive.

At a news briefing on Sunday, Tehran's Public Prosecutor, Saeed Mortazavi, said that Iran had referred the case to the International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO or Interpol), drawing on the organization's charter and Israel's violation of the Geneva Conventions.

"Governments of 180 countries have received the information necessary for identifying the suspects," he said.

In a Monday statement, Iran's judiciary said that it has asked Interpol to issue an international Red Notice security alert for the 15 Israeli officials who were involved in the 23-day Israeli offensive on Gaza.

The statement added that the judiciary was also looking into complaints made against 100 other Israelis, with top military and government posts.

Iran and Syria vow to support the rights of Palestinian people by bringing Israeli leaders to justice for their recent war crimes in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Turkey's Mazlum-Der rights group launched an investigation into Israeli crimes against humanity and genocide during the 23-day deadly offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The group filed a complaint which asked that Turkey be given the right to try 19 Israeli warlords including Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, President Shimon Peres, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Defense Minister Ehud Barak of committing genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Several international rights groups, including Amnesty and Human Rights Watch, have accused Israel of using banned weapons against the densely-populated coastal enclave of 1.6 million.

Iran is also going to host an international conference in support of Palestine on March 4-5 2009 in Tehran. Significant figures of the international community including the Arab League, Organization of Islamic Conference as well as renowned international lawyers have been invited to the conference.

the UN General Assembly is expected to discuss whether to seek advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice about filing a complaint against Israel, The Guardian reported on Wednesday.

According to the British daily, a Foreign Office source has confirmed reports that the UK government, under pressure from prominent law experts, may consider supporting calls for a reference to the ICJ.

"It's definitely on the table… We have already called for an investigation and are looking at all evidence and allegations,” the source told The Guardian.

The world's leading international lawyers have sent an open letter to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, calling for an end to Israel's human right violations in the Gaza Strip.

Today marks the beginning of Annual Israeli Apartheid Week Worldwide, which runs until the 8th of March.

First launched in Toronto in 2005, IAW has grown to become one of the most important global events in the Palestine solidarity calendar. Last year, more than 25 cities around the world participated in the week’s activities, which also commemorated 60 years since the expulsion of the Palestinian people from their homes and land in 1947-1948.

What can be done?

However, I doubt this is an isolated situation. Problem is that Israel has several Student groups worldwide. These groups are supported and trained to a certain extent by the Israeli govt. One is called the “The World Union of Jewish Students” Very well funded and organized on all major campuses worldwide (see list at end of post); they actually have a handbook for all their student members. In this “handbook” they teach students how to argue for Israel using “hasbara” techniques. Additionally, they are brainwashing organizations which seek to isolate Jewish students from the mainstream population of students, turning them into “super-Zionist clones” for Israel. As always, they play the fear politics card. “Poor Israel, always under attack, everyone wants to destroy Israel” and my personal favorite Zionist mantra “never again” always have to conjure up the holocaust to rally the troops. They also cheat the system and use special software to censor online and skew information.
