HEDY EPSTEIN~PURE CLASS

Hedy Epstein, One of the very few who took the terrible lessons of the Holocaust and then went into the world and applied those lessons to the entire world, to everyone equally, to say "Never Again" to anyone or any religion. I would bet money that she will be one of the 100 marchers to enter Gaza tomorrow.

The following is an excerpt of an interview done in Cairo of various Gaza Freedom Marchers, one of which is the holocaust survivor Hedy Epstein. And may I say she is one Class Act:
HEDY EPSTEIN: I’ve been for many, many years—in fact, for most of my life, I’ve been involved in human rights and civil rights struggle. But I’ve never been on a hunger strike before. And I think there comes a time in one’s life when one meets up with this kind of obstruction that the Egyptian government is providing us, instead of opening the borders and letting us into Gaza, and there comes a time in one’s life when maybe one needs to do more than just talk and march and picket, and maybe go on a hunger strike, as I am now about to do here, to change the opinion of the Egyptian government so that they will let us go to Gaza.

I desperately need to go to Gaza. I have a severe case of Gaza fever, and it can only be cured by going to Gaza. And I don’t want to go alone. I want to go with the 1,300 or 1,400 people of us from forty-two different countries.
God Bless her.........you can read the whole interview with various marchers HERE

Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh on Egyptian Proposal

Prime Minister Haniyeh attended a protest at the refusal of West Bank leaders to allow the Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council Aziz Dweik who was recently released from a Zionist jail. Haniyeh stated that the Egyptian proposals are a good start and need to be built upon.
“The Egyptian proposal on Palestinian conciliation has the beginnings of a plan that could be built on, but needs more study,” Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said Wednesday.

Haniyeh spoke at a sit-in protesting West Bank leaders’ decision to prevent Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council Aziz Dweik from resuming his duties after being released from Israeli prison on 23 June following more than three years in detention.

Dweik, affiliated with Hamas, called for steps toward unity as soon as he was released. He was received in the West Bank by a milt-party delegation, and Fatah’s leader and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas telephoned Dweik to congratulate him on his release.

Addressing the other sit-in participants, Haniyeh elaborated on his position vis-à-vis the Egyptian plan, saying “any presidential and Legislative elections should be preceded by national conciliation and an agreement on the environment and the atmosphere that should be created in the West Bank and Gaza.”

The reaction is similar to that of independent leaders and participants in the Cairo conciliation talks during its committees phase. The independents gathered and released a joint statement on the proposal, saying they hoped the Egyptian plan would be a last resort, and that conciliation could happen before the measures it proposed were implemented.

Further to his reaction to the Egyptian document, Haniyeh insisted that Dweik should be recognized as the PLC speaker “even if the situation lasts for several months” urging Dweik to continue with his work from home and office until overcoming the obstacles.”

Terrorists Enter Gaza, Kidnap Shepards

Yes, in a shocking show of disrespect for international law, a gang of terrorist thugs crossed the border into Gaza and then kidnapped four Bedouin Shepards. And the world ignores it................Apparently much of the world has now adopted the Bush policy of kidnapping people on their own soil, imprisoning them without trial, interning them, and commiting an act of war on another country. So, in light of tese events, Bush must be so proud as his policies have gained so much support that no one even bats and eyelash when these things are done on a weekly basis. And you thought there was only "one" Bush?
At least four Bedouin Shepherds have been KIDNAPPED after a special Israeli army unit stormed a village in the northern Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, the four men were herding their flock near the town of Beit Lahiya located a few hundred meters from the Gaza Strip's northern border with Israel, eye witnesses said.

According to residents of al-Nasser village, Israeli tanks rolled about one hundred meters into Gaza followed by a unit of special forces who advanced further to kidnap the shepherds.

Also on Sunday, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas announced that an Israeli helicopter opened fire on Gaza in a quick incursion apparently aimed at providing a cover for the troops. source
Shhhhhh, look the other way, nothing to see here, move along..............................
