TUESDAY~ It's "War Crimes" Day at the UN

Yes folks it's D-Day for the War Criminals
Expect some serious diversion today from Israel and their enabler Obama. Today the UN Fact Finding Mission will present its report to the UN in Geneva on the Gaza conflict. Let us see what kind of coverage this will get in the US/Zionist controlled media machine
A United Nations group will present a scathing report Tuesday on Israel's conduct during its military offensive into Gaza that began late last year

In the report, released earlier this month, the U.N. group accused Israel of committing "actions amounting to war crimes, possibly crimes against humanity" during its military incursion into Gaza from December 27 to January 18.

The group, called the U.N. Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict, is headed by South African judge Richard Goldstone.

Goldstone is scheduled to present the 400-plus page report to the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva Tuesday.

The U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights will present her own report after Goldstone.

The report claims that the Israeli Defense Forces "failed to take feasible precautions required by international law to avoid or minimize loss of civilian life, injury to civilians and damage to civilian objects."
LIKE THIS:
The U.N. report also said Israel fired the chemical agent white phosphorous in civilian areas, intentionally fired upon hospitals using high-explosive artillery shells, and failed to provide effective warnings to civilians or U.N. workers before attacks. It also claims that Israel used Palestinian civilians as human shields and deliberately attacked Palestinian food supplies in Gaza.
EXAMPLES:
White Phosphorous over what are CLEARLY CIVILIAN AREAS:

The report recommends that the U.N. Security Council require the government of Israel to launch appropriate independent investigations into the findings of the report within three months. The findings also recommend that the alleged Israeli war crimes be explored by the International Criminal Court's prosecutor. source

Avigdor Lieberman "UN Filled With Psychics"

The Jpost is reporting the FM Avigdor Lieberman (poster child for racism and hatred) has sussed out that the UN is filled with "Psychics" who were able to predict, in advance, the moment Israel dropped the first bomb in Gaza, that they would establish a commission to find Israel guilty of war crimes, by using their psychic abilities. Note that Israel using their secret "dome" blocked their psychic abilities from infiltrating any IDF soldier or potential witnesses inside Israel or the West Bank who may have had evidence to confirm the reports.
The Goldstone Commission was established in advance in order to find Israel guilty, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Thursday

"The Goldstone Commission is a commission established with the aim of finding Israel guilty of crimes ahead of time

UPDATED:GOLDSTONE REPORT~”ISRAEL RECKLESS, DISPROPORTIONATE, DILIBERATE”

MEET THE NEW NAZIS
IT’S OFFICIAL
ISRAEL GUILTY OF CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY

Two reports on this first the AP is reporting this:
The report said that Israel's attacks in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, including the shelling of a house where soldiers had forced Palestinian civilians to assemble, amounted to war crimes.

It found seven incidents in which civilians were shot while leaving their homes trying to run for safety, waving white flags and sometimes even following Israeli instructions, as well as the targeting of a mosque at prayer time, killing 15 people, were also war crimes.

A "direct and intentional attack" on the Al Quds Hospital and an adjacent ambulance depot in Gaza City "may constitute war crimes," the report said.
And here's my report from watching Goldstone live:

I just finished watching Judge Richard Goldstone’s briefing at the UN on the release of his report which just happened one hour ago. From what was said the report has only just been handed out to a few people in Palestine and Israel and the UN and that was done, according to Goldstone, just half an hour ago. I expect it may be later today that the full report makes it online. Note that Israel banned him and his team from entering Israel or the West Bank to interview anyone. So they effectively kept witnesses away from the team. They hid the criminals from the law.

Here are a few quotes from Goldstone’s briefing:

Israel guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity

When describing some of the 36 incidents he and the group which consisted of an Irishman Desmond Travers a Military expert and others carried out the investigation Gold stone used these words to describe Israel’s actions: “Reckless, Disproportionate, and Deliberate”

In particular he gave one example of an attack on a mosque in Gaza. During the continued genocide in Gaza the Mosque decided to combine it’s morning prayers and evening prayers into one service each afternoon, to minimize the amount of people travelling outside whilst Israel was dropping bombs on them. It was during an afternoon service that hundreds of people were inside praying. Israel fired a mortar DIRECTLY INTO THE FRONT DOOR killing 15 innocent people. He said this was a deliberate act and a reckless act. He addressed the excuse Israel uses to attack Mosques, saying that there were no fighters at this particular service, not secondary explosions, hence no weapons stored inside as Israel wants people to believe. He went on to say that this was a direct attack on civilians. Additionally he said that even if there were some fighters inside a mosque, you do not attack a mosque during a service when you KNOW civilians will be inside in great numbers. He said there is NO justification in International Law or Humanitarian Law for attacking a mosque DURING a service.

Now, I watched this on CNN, they cut away after about 6 minutes or so of coverage, even though Goldstone was not finished speaking. After all, CNN had to minimize the damage to Israel. And here’s the best bit, immediately after cutting away back to the CNN studio, Jonathan Mann says this “Palestine and Israel Guilty of War Crimes” and then he said “I think we have someone on the phone” And there’s me thinking to myself, what are the odds it will be some Israeli to makes excuses. And guess what? I discovered that I am psychic when it comes to Israel. Because who was on the phone? Why none other than Gerald Steinberg from Israel, he’s head of “NGO Watch” ROFLMAO. And of course the hasbara started spewing, it was all the usual garbage, poor little Israel, Goldstone and his team are anti-Israel, the UN is Anti-Israel the World is Anti-Israel, the Irish are anti-Israel, the British are anti-Israel, everyone except Israelis are anti-Israel and the whole thing is JUST NOT FAIR……..This is quite comic given that Israel refused to allow Goldstone inside of Israel to talk to people and gather evidence. Israel had to ban him from entering, just in case he was able to talk to some soldier who had a conscience and confessed.ABOUT GOLDSTONE:
Goldstone, a Jew, insisted on a balanced approach. His proposal: Talk to the victims. All the victims.

When his appointment to lead the mission was announced Friday, it was clear that he had taken the job on his terms.

"I decided to accept it because of my deep concern for peace in the Middle East and my deep concern for victims on all sides in the Middle East," he said at a news conference in Geneva.

The mission, he and U.N. officials said, would examine abuses on both sides of the 22-day conflict.

Goldstone's appointment poses an immediate policy question for Israel's new government. Israel considers the 47-member council incorrigibly biased and has refused to take part in some of its previous inquiries, including one led by Nobel laureate Desmond Tutu. Goldstone's international reputation for fairness and balance, more than the fact that he is Jewish, could make it awkward for Israel to shut him out.

"He's a person of impeccable integrity," said South African lawyer Mervyn Smith, who has known Goldstone for 25 years and is a former president of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies. "The fact that he's Jewish is not going to influence him one way or another."

Yuval Shany, director of the Minerva Center for Human Rights at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, said he was surprised by the appointment. He said the U.N. council, dominated by Arab, African and Asian countries, usually sends outspoken critics of Israel to lead such inquiries.

"Clearly this is not the case here, because Richard Goldstone is a fair-minded jurist, and I don't think anyone can say he's hostile to Israel in any way," Shany said. MORE

SMEAR, SLANDER, TWIST & SHOUT

"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."

Yes, it's time to Smear, Slander, Twist and Shout for Israel
Israel's army of deflectors and propagandists are working overtime at a fevered pitch, little fat Zionist fingers typing away 24/7 in the run up to the assuredly damning report soon to be released by Richard Goldstone, the Jewish Judge charged with investigating Israel war crimes. I was going to write about this but now I don’t have to Antony Lerman at the Guardian did a fairly good job. Kudos for seeing through the Minutia. Here's his take:
The despicable attacks on human rights organisations investigating Israel's Gaza offensive in January confirm Churchill's observation: "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on." The mission led by the South African judge Richard Goldstone to investigate international human rights and international humanitarian law violations during Israel's offensive, established by the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), is the latest victim. His findings are about to be made public. The knives have been out for the mission for months. Now they are being plunged into him and his colleagues. Until the report is out Goldstone can't defend it. So the smears and misrepresentation are left free to pollute public discourse.

The New York-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) has assiduously responded to a deluge of scurrilous attacks on its credibility and staff, yet totally unfounded allegations – for example, about accepting Saudi government funding and failing to give a critical report to the Israel Defence Forces before releasing it to the public – are constantly being recycled. HRW messed up by failing to see that the nerdy and, to most people, disturbing hobby of its weapons expert Marc Garlasco (he collects German and American second world war memorabilia) could be used to discredit his role as author of highly critical reports of Israel's military conduct in Gaza. But when this story broke last week, the equation implied in some allegations – "Nazi" object-collector plus "Israel-basher" equals "antisemite" – was baseless and defamatory. That he also worked on reports critical of Hamas and Hezbollah was ignored. As another excuse to attack HRW, and deflect attention from its reports' findings, the Garlasco affair was a gift.

Goldstone accepted his role only after the council president agreed to the alteration of the mission's mandate to cover all parties to the conflict, not just Israel. But mistrust alone does not explain the extraordinary scale of the attacks on human rights organisations, including all Israeli ones, for their reports on Israel.

In the 1970s, Jewish groups pressing the Soviets to allow Jews the right to leave the USSR worked with the human rights movement and based their arguments on human rights principles. But now the promoters of the concept of the "new antisemitism"that Israel is the collective Jew persecuted by the international community – hold the international human rights movement largely responsible for it. Unable to face the fact that occupation and increasingly extreme rightwing governments turned Israel into the neighbourhood bully Read more HERE

GAZA gets "Lip Service" but NO JUSTICE

I am so "Psychic" I should have my own television show. All I can say to this is that I hate to say "I Told You So" but......"I Told You So" Check it out...I said it here, no war crimes prosecution for the Murdering Nazi Holocaust on Gaza.
THE UN held an unprecedented public hearing in Gaza yesterday to broadcast live witness accounts from Palestinians who described seeing their relatives being killed and injured during Israel’s January war.

One after another, they detailed Israeli rocket strikes and artillery shelling near a mosque, a UN school and on several homes across Gaza during the three-week war. The two-day hearing is part of an inquiry by the UN human rights council into the war and is led by respected South African judge Richard Goldstone.

Israel has refused entry for the inquiry team, accusing the UN council of an anti-Israel bias even though Goldstone himself is Jewish. But another round of hearings will be held in Geneva next week, for which some Israeli witnesses are expected to be flown in. They may include residents of Sderot, near Gaza, which has suffered repeated Palestinian rocket attacks.
(Ok here comes the "hasbara" technique to attempt to deflect from Israeli war crimes, which, have nothing at all to do with those residents. The inquiry is about WAR CRIMES in Gaza, inflicted by the 4th largest army in the world, using DIME missiles, White Phosphorous and human shields and collective punishment. Sorry, but HAMAS only has home made rockets, e.g. large Bottle Rockets. If they kill someone it's just a lucky strike, nothing more. Whereas, the weapons Israel has used are questionable in how they were used and where they were used and for what purpose they were used. BIG difference!)
“The purpose of the public hearings in Gaza and Geneva is to show the faces and broadcast the voices of victims – all of the victims,” Goldstone said last week. He had sat on South Africa’s constitutional court after the fall of apartheid and was a chief prosecutor on the UN criminal tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda.

Yesterday’s public hearing was the first in a UN fact-finding mission, though there is little chance it will lead to prosecutions. Up to 1,400 Palestinians and 13 Israelis were killed during the war.
( I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so here! )
Mousa Silawi (91) described an explosion at the entrance to a mosque in the Jabaliya refugee camp late on January 3rd, which killed 17 people, including three of his sons and two grandchildren.

“After evening prayer a huge shell hit the mosque,” he said. “It was absolutely incredible. We starting screaming and calling for God.” Silawi, who is blind, was led away to safety and was then told that his sons had died. “Where is law? Where is justice? I have lived 91 years. I have seen everything, but nothing of this sort. It was such a catastrophe,” he said.
(Sorry, but there is no "Justice" for Palestinians, sadly, you were born without any because you were born a Palestinian.........)
His son, Moteeh, the mosque’s sheikh, said there had been no warning before the missile struck. “People came to the mosque for safety and we saw bloodshed,” he said.

“I was leading my father out when my own foot stepped on the head of a small child. I saw people carrying decapitated heads and parts of bodies. I cannot describe what I saw . . . What crime did the children commit?”

In another case, Ziad al-Deeb, a university student, described how an Israeli shell struck in the courtyard of his family home in Jabaliya on January 6th. The blast killed 11 of his relatives and removed both his legs. First he heard an explosion just outside the wall of the house, and moments later a second shell landed in their yard.

“In a single instant we had all of our joys replaced with blood,” he said. “There was a severe whistling in my ears and a pillar of smoke and dust, and that obliterated what happened. When I looked up I found I had lost both my legs. I was sprawled over the body of my own brother. I looked for my father and others, and I found them motionless. Most of them were dead.”

He lost his father, grandfather, two brothers and a sister in the blast, which was one of several mortar shells that fell in quick succession that afternoon near a UN prep school being used as a shelter for those fleeing the fighting. Between 30 and 40Palestinians were killed near the school.

An earlier UN inquiry has already found Israel responsible for the shelling.

After hearing his evidence, Goldstone said: “We extend our deep condolences to you and your family for your terrible loss and it makes your coming here all the more painful for you.”
(Nice "Lip Service" but he needs Justice!)
Yesterday’s hearing was held at a UN office in Gaza City and broadcast live to a hall at a nearby cultural centre, deserted save for a handful of journalists. However, the hearing was broadcast on some television stations, including one al-Jazeera channel.

The UN inquiry team will issue a final report in August.source Irish Times

LIVE, FROM GAZA~IT'S WAR CRIMES TV

It appears the UN team who are now investigating the ZOF "Zionist Occupying Force" war crimes will be screening the hearings live. My first reaction was "Wooooo Whoooo" but then common sense and my spidy hairs began to tingle, always a bad sign. I wonder why this is? Why they would want to publicly air information that surely would piss off the Zionist Entity to the nth degree. The answer is one of three things. Either this is some sort of a larger picture to publicly humiliate Israel so as to give Obama some ammunition (excuse the pun) to use in order to force them into making peace. Or....the two bad options would be that this Team has already excluded any claims on various grounds, and they want to appear open and above board by listing the alleged crimes and then refuting them one by one. Or lastly, they found crimes were committed but are somehow unable to charge Israel and airing them publically is meant to mollify Gazans and the world. I vote #3 but hope I'm wrong, but what say you good people? Here's the report:
UN's Gaza war crimes probe to screen hearings live

The United Nations team which is investigating alleged war crimes committed during Operation Cast Lead, last January, announced on Wednesday that it would broadcast the hearings it plans to hold with Palestinian and Israeli victims live.

The team, led by veteran war crimes investigator Richard Goldstone, will hold the hearings in Gaza City on Sunday and Monday, UN officials said. (I hope there is live online streaming!!!)

Spokeswoman Doune Porter said that the hearings would be broadcast and the media would be allowed to view them from a separate room.

She said Wednesday that the team also would hold hearings in Geneva on July 6-7 under the same conditions. LINK

The Show Will Go On~Without Israel

Israel is trying every thing to avoid allowing the truth to come out. Below is a depiction of the answer Richard Goldstone and his UN War Crimes investigation team received from Israel when they were asked about their war crimes:

Never mind though, the Investigation will go ahead without cooperation from the criminals. Richard Goldstone, the Jewish Judge from South Africa was on the tele yesterday and did a very good interview I thought. He stated that Israel has refused them entry into the country and also has refused to allow anyone to speak to the UN committee. Goldstone seemed annoyed and said that the investigation will go forward, that his team takes their work very seriously. They will investigate inside Gaza, then there will be an opportunity for the Israelis or anyone else to come forward and speak to the committee at the UN, a neutral place. He did not have any nice words for Israel, neither does anyone else in the world. They are merely criminals of the worst kind running from the law. No better than common murderers, crooks, thieves and liars. Justice will be served for the thousands of innocents in Palestine, the schools, the hospitals, the siege, the white phosphorous..........the list is endless, just like the Israelis racist behaviour. It knows no boundaries. Report below:
UN hearings to be held on Gaza war crimes
A UN team investigating possible war crimes in Gaza says it will hold public hearings with victims of the conflict in Gaza and Geneva later this month.

The team has spent the week interviewing witnesses and visiting sites damaged in Israel's three-week offensive, which ended on 18 January.

Richard Goldstone, who is heading the team, said it had hoped to hold hearings in Israel and the West Bank.

But Israel has refused to co-operate in the inquiry, accusing it of bias.
Anything Israel does not like is "Biased" or is based on the ever favorite, over used, phony term of "Anti-Semitism" Well, not this time Israel, people are no longer afraid to speak out on your crimes. Since they've used that term ad nauseum, what's left? Nothing is left, people see through Israel now. Israel's pattern of hiding behind the "Holocaust" and the "anti-semitism" label to both commit crimes and then to avoid paying for them.
Mr Goldstone said his 15-member team had visited 40 sites in Gaza and spoken to some 70 witnesses and relatives of victims. It had hoped to visit southern Israeli towns hit by Palestinian rocket fire, but was not allowed access.
This shoots a hole right into Israel's false claim that HAMAS rocket fire into Israel will not be addressed. Israel is blocking this team so that they can then say that the team did not investigate towns hit by HAMAS rocket fire in Israel.
Mr Goldstone said he hoped Israel's refusal to co-operate would not weaken the report, due for publication in September.

"If we haven't dealt with facts that Israel would like us to deal with, I think we can hardly be blamed for that," he added, according to news agency AP.
More on this below:
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has requested more than $11m (£7m) compensation from Israel for damage to UN property in Gaza, after he accused Israel of targeting known civilian shelters and providing untrue statements to justify actions in which civilians were killed.
The report found Israel to blame in six out of nine incidents when death or injury were caused to people sheltering at UN property and UN buildings were damaged.

The Israeli military has said that its troops fought lawfully, although errors did take place, such as the deaths of 21 people in a wrongly targeted house. A fact-finding team commissioned by the Arab League said there was sufficient evidence for the Israeli military to be prosecuted for war crimes and crimes against humanity, and that "the Israeli political leadership was also responsible for such crimes".

It also said Palestinian militants were guilty of war crimes in their use of indiscriminate attacks on civilians. link

Israeli War Crimes Investigation

Israel, says to the investigation committee
"I Hear You Knocking, But You Can't Come In"

Richard Goldstone and his fellow investigators have been attempting to carry out their duties. However, Israel refuses to let them into the country to carry out investigations..... SURPRISE.....not! Israel has a bad habit of carrying out crimes against humanity, and then running for safety into their little heavily fortified statelet, which is more like a bunker, than a state, but that's another story. This is the pattern, kill and run, kill and hide, kill and deflect, and if that does not work, kill and call everyone who blames you "Anti-Semitic" yeah, that's the ticket, you're all Anti-Semitic, I say, as I laugh myself silly. Good to hear that Goldstone will continue to investigate without Israel if needs be.
The head of a UN inquiry into human rights abuses committed during the three-week Israeli war on Gaza has been disappointed over Tel Aviv's lack of cooperation.

"I'm disappointed, and the members of the mission are disappointed, that we've had no positive response from the Israeli government," Richard Goldstone told reporters in Geneva on Wednesday.

The South African Jewish jurist, who heads a four-member fact finding mission to Gaza, said despite his direct appeal to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the group's request to enter Israel has to date been met with a wall of silence.

"But we've really received no official response. There've been media reports of noncooperation but I regard those as unofficial. It would be good to get an official response and I would hope a positive response," he explained.

Goldstone went on to express his determination to go ahead with the inquiry even if Tel Aviv fails to cooperate on the issue.

The team is obliged to submit a report by Aug. 4 on the conduct of both sides during Israel's Operation Cast lead.

This is not the first time echelons in Tel Aviv deny a United Nations fact finding mission entry into the Gaza Strip, impoverished by a 22-month Israeli imposed siege on its inhabitants and constant military operations.

Human rights investigator Richard Falk was denied entry into the coastal territory at the onset of the military aggression in December.

The UN special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories believes Tel Aviv is shirking all investigations in fear of the abundant amount of evidence that shows its violation of international laws of warfare in Gaza.

"The real reason is that the facts overwhelmingly support allegations that Israel is understandably concerned that any objective inquiry would indeed confirm the allegations and create a situation in which the international community would be obliged to seek some kind of procedure for accountability," said Falk in an exclusive interview with Press TV in late April. source

Israel Starting to Freak

And now the whining starts

The following are excerpts from a LONG editorial regarding the upcoming investigation into Israeli war crimes headed by Jewish south African Richard Goldstone. All has been quiet on the Israeli front since the little flurry of media attention when Goldstone was picked. However, now Israel is starting to fret, complain and cry that they are being "singled out" which is their usual tactic when accused of crimes. Some excerpts are below, the most outrageous ones. To read the entire hasbara-babble you can take the link below at the end. I do find it stunning the excuses and mindset of Israelis in their attempt to defend the indefensible. While they attempt to create some type of insane "logic" the rest of the world is not buying it anymore. We want justice for all those murdered children and we won't forget what took place!

Analysis: Goldstone mission just another unfair UN fact-finding farce, I'm afraid

Accusations of war crimes and human rights violations by Israel during the recent hostilities in the Gaza Strip - whether from inside Israel or outside - seem to be developing into a fixation among those in the international community who await the opportunity to bash Israel.
(No,not to "bash" Israel, but to hold it accountable for what it did!)

The fact that there exists a clear double standard, and that Israel is singled out for special treatment - whether justifiably or not - is regrettably a given factor in the international reality in which we live.
(multiple probs here, firstly, what double standards, they always use this as an excuse, there can be NO excuse to act as they did, clearly overkill and the illegal use of weapons as well. Secondly, this "special treatment" crapola is just that, absolute rubbish! Israel chose to commit genocide on a population that was corralled into an area with NO ESCAPE! And, when the innocent people DID attempt to find safety in UN compounds or their own homes, they were systematically butchered and bombed. Israel singled out? Of course they are singled out, Hamas had no DIME missiles, no tanks, no drones, no vast armed army, no white phosphorous and no huge arms deals with the USA. So yes, Israel is at fault for killing hundreds of civilians and children. And lastly, this statement of "Justifiably or Not" is ludicrous, does he mean that no matter if Israel IS guilty it should be overlooked because he believes that Israel is being singled out? Preposterous!)

the question once again arises whether Israel should agree to cooperate with Goldstone and his mission.
(Why should Israel have an "option" to agree, it has NO option to agree as these are CRIMES being investigated. Criminals do not get to decide if they will go along with an investigation, how moronic!)

Taken at face value, and in a perfect world of genuine bona fides, such a mandate might indeed appear reasonable. Appointing a Jew to head the mission, as the UN press statements take pains to stress, and Goldstone's membership in the Board of Governors of the Hebrew University, was doubtless intended to serve as an additional factor in persuading Israel to cooperate with the mission.
(Taken at face value in a perfect world of bona fides? What he really means here is a perfect solution for Israel where no one attempts to hold them accountable. Or one where they have some type of "fix" in where they participate but never get charged or convicted, so sorry, not this time!)

However, the world is not perfect, and the impartiality of the mission and its independence, as well as the motivations behind it, are far from genuine and give rise to justifiable doubts as to its bona fides.
(Oh, here we go, typical Israeli HASBARA, any commitee or investigation that actually decides to do a real investigation or place charges against Israel is somehow not a "genuine" mission, or fails to have genuine "motivations" this is just SO outlandish to non-Zionists and the rest of the normal world.)

The mandate emanates from a UN Human Rights Council resolution dated January 12 of this year and entitled Council Resolution S-9/1, on the grave violations of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly due to the recent Israeli military attacks against the Gaza Strip.

The resolution, tabled - and supported by such paragons of international humanitarianism as Cuba, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and others - was adopted by 33 votes in favor, one (Canada) against and 13 abstentions (European countries).
(Well now, I understand completely that Israel thinks it, along with the USA, should be allowed to control the rest of us peons. Additionally I see they lumped Egypt into their "hate" group, so perhaps Egypt should stop being an agent for Israel as no matter how many Palestinians they capture for Israel, nor how many people they detain or stop from entering Gaza,or how many humanitarian aid trucks, shipments of "pasta" and "baby diapers" they seize for Israel, it's just not enough. all the while loosing face with the rest of the Arab world and for what? To be still slagged off by Israel because they went along with the other 32 nations at the UN? Wake up Egypt, you will always be the house negro as far as Israel is concerned. And lastly, Canada has a racist government controlled by the Zionist lobby as was evident when it embarrassed itself to the world by banning George Galloway, when, the USA had NO problems letting him in. so that takes care of Canada. The rest of the EU is shit scared of the US and Israel and at the same time won't go against the proposal due to the vast majority of the people living in those EU countries came out in their millions to demonstrate against Israel's attempted ethnic cleansing and holocaust in Gaza. That is your answer!)

Further to the questionable basis of the mission's mandate, some thought might be given to the mission's composition. Without impinging on the good intentions and bona fides of Goldstone, it might be noted that Christine Chinkin, professor of international law at the London School of Economics, together with other British academics, addressed a letter to The Guardian on January 5 that was extremely critical of Israel's action in the Gaza Strip.

With all the good intentions that Israel might have in wishing to cooperate with any fair and impartial international mission, one may assume that this mission, like its predecessors, is doomed to fail, and in any event could not claim, in the words of Goldstone, to "make a meaningful contribution to the peace process in the Middle East and to providing justice for the victims."

Nothing good will come from this mission.
(Note, that Goldstone's statement regarding the importance of this investigation e.g. to "make a meaningful contribution to the peace process in the Middle East and to providing justice for the victims." was used totally out of context by this Israeli writer. Again, HASBARA at work, but no matter how much they wiggle and squirm, the world wants justice against Israeli criminals this time and we intend to get it.)

You can read the entire bullshit HASBARA editorial HERE if you can stand it.

UPDATED~Jewish Judge To Head UN Israeli War Crimes Investigations

Strategically there are two ways to look at this: 1. Either they are going to "go for it" and Israel will be charged. Having a Jewish Judge head the panel will blow holes in Israeli's claims of "bias" 2. Perhaps nothing will come of this and the "judge" was placed to lead the panel because this investigation will go "nowhere"

take your pick, story below:

UN names Jewish judge to lead Israel-Gaza probe

Richard Goldstone, former chief prosecutor for war crimes in Yugoslavia and Rwanda, to head high-level mission to investigate alleged crimes committed by IDF during Operation Cast Lead

The United Nations says a Jewish judge from South Africa will lead a high-level mission to investigate alleged war crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

The global body says its former chief prosecutor for war crimes in Yugoslavia and Rwanda, Richard Goldstone, will head the probe ordered by the Human Rights Council in January.

According to the mandate, the investigation will focus only on Palestinian victims of the three-week war between Israel and Hamas earlier this year.

Israel has refused cooperation with previous council probes, calling them biased.

"It is in the interest of all Palestinians and Israelis that the allegations of war crimes and serious human rights violations related to the recent conflict on all sides be investigated," Goldstone said in a statement.

“I am confident that the mission will be in a position to assess in an independent and impartial manner all human rights and humanitarian law violations committed in the context of the (Gaza) conflict," the president of the Human Rights Council, Nigerian ambassador Martin Uhomoibhi, said in a statement.

Goldstone will be accompanied by British human rights professor Christine Chinkin, Pakistani lawyer Hina Jilani and retired Irish Army colonel Desmond Travers.

Here is a bit more on members of this "4 person team" led by Goldstone, from the Institute for International Criminal Investigations website:

Richard J. Goldstone is a former member of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and the former Chief Prosecutor of the United Nations Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda. He is the author of For Humanity: Reflections of a War Crimes Investigator (Castle Lectures in Ethics, Politics, and Economics) (Yale University Press, September 2000), with a foreword written by The Honorable Sandra Day O'Connor.

Desmond Travers is a recently retired Colonel of the Army of the Irish Defence Forces. His last appointment was as Commandant of its Military College. In a career spanning over forty years, he served in various command and instructional appointments in the Infantry Corps. He was a founder of two of the Forces' teaching and training institutions.
He also served in command of troops and in key operational appointments with various UN and EU peace support missions. These were in the Middle-East (Cyprus, Lebanon) and in the Former Yugoslavia (Croatia and Bosnia and Hercegovina). He is a student of military history and his works are published internationally from time to time.

Call me skeptical, regarding this investigation, but that’s my knee jerk reaction to this announcement. And I have my reasons for that skepticism, Here’s why: I don’t believe in impartiality when it comes to situations like this where you have a state, or member of a state accused of those crimes, leading, or investigating those crimes. For a Jewish Judge to lead this investigation just reminds me of so many “investigations” that have been in Ireland over the killing of innocent people by the British forces or worse, collusion.Albeit, those investigations were no held in the UN, but still it shows the inability of members of accused states to conduct fair and impartial investigations of their own state. For instance; the murders of Rosemary Nelson and Pat Finucane, two civil rights lawyers, still no justice years later. Bloody Sunday springs to mind on 30 January 1972 in which 27 civil rights protesters were shot by members of the 1st Battalion of the British Parachute Regiment during a Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association march. 30 years one and several so called “investigations” by the British, we are left with no justice still.

• John (Jackie) Duddy (17). Shot in the chest in the car park of Rossville flats.

• Patrick Joseph Doherty (31). Shot from behind while attempting to crawl to safety in the forecourt of Rossville flats.

• Bernard McGuigan (41). Shot in the back of the head when he went to help Patrick Doherty. He had been waving a white handkerchief at the soldiers to indicate his peaceful intentions.

• Hugh Pious Gilmour (17). Shot through his right elbow, the bullet then entering his chest as he ran from the paratroopers on Rossville Street.

• Kevin McElhinney (17). Shot from behind while attempting to crawl to safety at the front entrance of the Rossville Flats.

• Michael G. Kelly (17). Shot in the stomach while standing near the rubble barricade in front of Rossville Flats.

• John Pius Young (17). Shot in the head while standing at the rubble barricade.

• William Noel Nash (19). Shot in the chest near the barricade. Witnesses stated Nash was unarmed and going to the aid of another when killed.

• Michael M. McDaid (20). Shot in the face at the barricade as he was walking away from the paratroopers.

• James Joseph Wray (22). Wounded then shot again at close range while lying on the ground. Wray was calling out to say that he could not move his legs before he was shot the second time.

• Gerald Donaghy (17). Shot in the stomach while attempting to run to safety between Glenfada Park and Abbey Park.

• Gerald (James) McKinney (34). Shot just after Gerald Donaghy. Witnesses stated that McKinney had been running behind Donaghy, and he stopped and held up his arms, shouting "Don't shoot! Don't shoot!", when he saw Donaghy fall. He was then shot in the chest.

• William A. McKinney (27). Shot from behind as he attempted to aid Gerald McKinney. He had left cover to try to help the older man

• John Johnston (59). Shot in the leg and left shoulder on William Street 15 minutes before the rest of the shooting started. He died of his wounds 4½ months later.

So, like I said, I'm skeptical until proven wrong......................
UPDATED: Well this is a bit encouraging, from March 16th 2009 LINK HERE

UPDATED X2: This is very interesting indeed. It seems the Israelis are none too pleased with this new group that was created in January in response to the genocide in Gaza. Perhaps Goldstone will do the deed properly. Note what he has to say in the piece below:

The Israeli government has in the past refused to co-operate with UN human rights council investigations, including one led by Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

It is not clear whether Israel will co-operate with the new investigation.

"This committee is instructed not to seek out the truth but to single out Israel for alleged crimes," said Yigal Palmor, spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

He said the council was a discredited body.

'Shock' appointment

Mr Goldstone is a former UN chief prosecutor for war crimes in Yugoslavia and Rwanda. He is also a former judge at the South African constitutional court.

He is also on the board of governors at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Mr Goldstone said he was "shocked, as a Jew", to be invited to head the mission.

"I've taken a deep interest in what happens in Israel. I'm associated with organisations that have worked in Israel.

"And I believe I can approach the daunting task that I have accepted in an even-handed and impartial manner." SOURCE

UPDATED X3 Well maybe not LOL, look at how the the JTA is reporting this:

(JTA) -- A Jewish South African with close ties to Israel will head a U.N. inquiry into war crimes during Israel's recent war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

He said his Jewishness and ties to Israel were added values. "I've taken a deep interest in what happens in Israel," he said. "I'm associated with organizations that have worked in Israel. And I believe I can approach the daunting task that I have accepted in an evenhanded and impartial manner."

Again, time will tell us all.............
