Gaza – Ma’an – The armed wing of Islamic Jihad said it attacked Israeli military forces near the Nahal Oz military base in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday night.
The Al-Quds Brigades said in a statement that it used rocket-propelled grenades, mortars, and machine gun fire in the attack.
The group said the ambush was “in response to the continued aggression against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and an affirmation of the choice resistance."
The Israeli military did not confirm the events.

STONES vs TANKS~ RISEN PEOPLE
Ireland-Palestine One Struggle
“I believe I am but another of those wretched Irishmen (Palestinians) born of a risen generation with a deeply rooted and unquenchable desire for freedom” Bobby Sands~ IRA Irish Hungerstriker
Perhaps some people wonder why the name of this blog is “Irish4Palestine” after reading this entry today, some of you will understand.
You see, people who lived through the struggle for freedom in the North of Ireland, know only too well about what we are seeing day after day take place against the Palestinians. Today I read a story about a small Palestinian child who dared to throw stones at Israeli tanks; he was shot for his defiance. Stones against tanks, some things never change. Palestinian teen in critical condition after being shot in head by Israeli forces
Soon I found myself remembering so many names, names of those here in Ireland, who committed those same defiant acts, and just as in Palestine, they were gunned down for throwing stones, or mostly and very simply, just being Irish and and wanting freedom and justice.
Although there have been thousands of names here, a few tend to stand out to me. I will tell the stories of two children, and please notice how identical they are to what is taking place in Palestine. Firstly, I remember Carol Ann Kelly, a 12 year old girl who was returning from a shop after buying milk for a neighbour. She was shot, and later died, from a plastic bullet, as her mother watched from inside the home in horror.
As she was walking back from the shop with friends, two British Army armoured vehicles entered the estate. ‘We could hear them (the soldiers) shouting about the five soldiers who had been killed that day. They shouted 'We will get one of you for our five mates today'. Then there was a shot. I saw her lying on the ground with blood coming from her head...’ and, ‘...her leg was curled up underneath her' She just literally fell on her back and the bag with the carton of milk was lying on the ground.’ Carol Ann’s mother witnessed the shooting from the upstairs window of their home. ...I looked round to see where Carol Ann was and she was just falling back. She went straight down. I stood for a moment or two. I just couldn’t take it in. My son Mark came running down the street and I heard him shouting ‘Oh they’ve shot our Carol Ann, they’ve shot our Carol Ann’.And I remember a little boy, Stephen McConomy 11 years of age, much like the young Palestinian child shot this past Saturday with a plastic bullet.
The ambulance took some time to arrive at the scene due to the actions of other British soldiers mounting a checkpoint at the entrance to the estate, who told the ambulance driver that no one had been hurt, forcing the driver to turn around before he was redirected to the scene by radio. Carol Ann was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, where she died without regaining consciousness two days later
No British soldiers were ever charged in connection with the killing of Carol Ann Kelly.
‘I’ll be in at half eight,’ were Stephen’s last words to his mother when he left home on the evening of 16 April 1982. Shortly before 8pm Stephen and his friend were standing near the flats watching the antics of a small group of children throwing stones at a British army armoured vehicle, which was parked only yards from where the two boys stood. Civilian witnesses said the area was relatively quiet with only about five or six children between the ages of ten and twelve playing with an Irish flag. The children were trying to place the Irish flag over the front of the British armoured vehicle parked in Fahan Street. These are only two of a great many, murdered by state sanctioned terrorism. State sanctioned racism and bigotry. The “idea” that some people are human and others are not. Just like the IDF were so proud to wear t-shirts with images of Palestinian pregnant women, with the words “One Shot-Two Kills” written on them, or the shirt with the child, that said “Potential Terrorist” These views are well known to us Irish who also had to fight for our civil rights, equality and freedom. The checkpoint stories, the internment without trail or charges, our people wasting away in British jails. And just like Hamas, our Democratically elected Sinn Fein representatives were not allowed into government. Then there was the murder of our civil rights lawyers, our towns closed down, and all Irish removed or arrested, so that British Loyalists could march through our cities, celebrating our second class citizenship in our own country. Spitting on us as they passed, singing sectarian songs. All Irish removed from the good land, and forced to live in cramped small areas, whilst the British Planters grew crops on our stolen land. Even today there are people who’s families once owned vast acres of farmland, who now drive by and see others living there.
The soldiers in the armoured vehicle began revving the engine as if they were going to charge the children. One of the boys had a stick and was beating the armoured vehicle with it, while other children were trying to pull off riot-shields attached to the side of the vehicle. On the driver’s side of the vehicle a small hatch opened and the muzzle of a plastic bullet gun was pushed through the opening. When the children around the vehicle saw the gun muzzle they ran away towards Rossville Flats. Stephen was standing near the front of the vehicle at the time, his two hands in his pockets, and seeing the gun he turned to walk away. As he did the soldier sitting in the driver’s seat fired the plastic bullet gun through the opening. The impact of the plastic bullet, fired from less than six yards, lifted Stephen onto a grassy bank where he lay unconscious. Seeing the child’s plight two young men rushed to his aid, but before they could reach him they were threatened by the soldiers inside the vehicle that they would be shot if they went near him.
An inquest into the killing of Stephen McConomy was held in June 1983.No British soldiers were ever charged in connection with the killing of Stephen McConomy.
So much is the same between Ireland and Palestine, when I see Palestine, I see Ireland. When I see a Palestinian, I see an Irishman. When I see villages in Gaza, I see West Belfast or Creggan in Derry. When I see the face of a Palestinian child, I recognize what I see in their eyes. They are saying to the world “You will never break me, I exist, I am here, I am proud and I am Palestine!”
It was around the 10th anniversary of the Irish Hungerstrike where 10 IRA men died fighting for freedom. When a family friend had been doing some work in a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon. She only spoke English but had been attempting to learn a little Arabic. One day as she was watching a group of young girls playing and she couldn’t help but notice that they were singing some song, over and over again as they skipped. She moved closer to see if she could figure out what they were saying. At first it was difficult, but soon she began to realize what they were saying and it came as a great surprise. These little girls, who had not even been born yet, or were only babies during the Irish Hungerstrike, were ALL repeating the names of EACH Irish hungerstriker, over and over again. They were saying: “ Bobby Sands, Francis Hughes, Raymond McCreesh, Patsy O’Hara, Joe McDonnell, Martin Huson, Kevin Lynch, Kieran Doherty, Thomas McIlwee, Michal Devine “
So, all the way across the world, in another oppressed country like Palestine, people can be inextricably linked through common struggles. This is why the Irish hungerstrikers meant so much to Palestinian people and Lebanese people. It is really quite simple, Bobby Sands, the Irish Hungerstriker said this before he died, read it and think “Palestine” instead of “Ireland.”
I believe and stand by the God-given right of the Irish (Palestinian) nation to sovereign independence, and the right of any Irishman (Palestinian)to assert this right in armed revolution. That is why I am incarcerated, naked and tortured. The “Risen” people, THAT is what we are, and THAT is what they are. They rise up against tanks with stones and refuse to be oppressed and beaten, just like we did in the Battle of the Bogside many years ago. So, Ireland and Palestine are inextricably linked, through the struggle for freedom and an end to oppression. And that is why those little girls knew EVERY one of those names.
Foremost in my tortured mind is the thought that there can never be peace in (Palestine) Ireland until the foreign, oppressive (Israeli) British presence is removed, leaving all the (Palestinian)Irish people as a unit to control their own affairs and determine their own destinies as a sovereign people, free in mind and body, separate and distinct physically, culturally and economically.
I believe I am but another of those wretched (Palestinians)Irishmen born of a risen generation with a deeply rooted and unquenchable desire for freedom. I am dying not just to attempt to end the barbarity of H-Block, or to gain the rightful recognition of a political prisoner, but primarily because what is lost in here is lost for the (Palestine) Republic and those wretched oppressed whom I am deeply proud to know as the 'risen people'.
For just like in Palestine, so many of our memories and our monuments and our special days, are focused on our dead martyrs or our innocent dead. Like the boy shot on Saturday in the dusty desert of Palestine, like little Carol Ann Kelly and Stephen McConomy also shot by Plastic bullets in a lush green far away land called Ireland. So many deaths, so many funerals, too many to count for both of our countries.
Finally, in the words of Bobby Sands with the word “Ireland” removed and “Palestine” inserted:
“If they aren't able to destroy the desire for freedom, they won't break you. They won't break me because the desire for freedom, and the freedom of the “Palestinian” people, is in my heart. The day will dawn when all the people of “Palestine” will have the desire for freedom to show.As for me? Well, I used to cry for Ireland, now I cry for Palestine.
It is then we'll see the rising of the moon.
And this, my friends, is why this blog is called “Irish4Palestine”
Israeli Settlers ATTACK Palestinians~IDF Shoots At Victims
Villagers hurt in West Bank clash
At least eight Palestinian have been injured in clashes near an Israeli settlement
Palestinians say the clashes broke out after armed Israeli settlers from Beit Ayin attacked homes in Beit Safa, a nearby Palestinian village.
Israeli forces say they fired live bullets at the legs of stone-throwers.
A hospital in the West Bank town of Hebron said one Palestinian was seriously injured and another three were moderately hurt.
Doctors said one of the injured was hit in the neck with a live round.
The Israeli military said Palestinians had begun throwing stones at settlers from Bat Ayin in the southern West Bank, who had gone to a hilltop to say a special sun blessing prayer in an event which occurs once every 28 years.
Palestinian residents of Beit Safa said a group of settlers, some armed, had entered their village and begun throwing rocks at homes and damaging cars.
They said Israeli forces had arrived and used tear gas, rubber coated bullets and live ammunition to end the disturbance.
An Israeli military spokesperson said "crowd dispersing means" were used initially, but when the crowd became more violent, troop used live ammunition to target the lower body parts of some people in the crowd, and "identified hits".
In 2002, three residents of the settlement were given long jail terms for trying to blow up a Palestinian girls' school in Jerusalem.
Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are considered illegal under international law, although Israel disputes this.
The violence comes amid concerns over a clash of opinion between the new Israeli government, led by right-winger Binyamin Netanyahu, and Barack Obama's US administration.
Mr Obama has stressed his commitment to a two-state solution, but Mr Netanyahu does not back the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state.
His Foreign Minister, far-right politician Avigdor Lieberman, said on Tuesday that peace talks with the Palestinians had reached a "dead end".

Racist Israel Fires 150 Arab Workers
Racists, Racists, Racists and Bigots.............
A decision by Israel's state-owned railway company to sack 150 Arab workers because they have not served in the army has been denounced as "unlawful" and "racist" this week by Arab legal and workers' rights groups.
The new policy, which applies to guards at train crossing points, is being implemented even though the country's Arab citizens -- numbering 1.2 million and nearly one-fifth of the total population -- have been exempt from serving in the military since Israel's establishment.
Ahmed Tibi, an Arab member of the Israeli parliament, complained to Israel Railways and the attorney general last week, arguing that the move was meant "to cleanse the railways of Arab employees."
"It is an especially grave matter as this is a public company whose operations are meant to benefit all citizens," he said.
The Laborers' Voice, a workers' rights group based in Nazareth, said the new condition of employment was designed to reserve rail jobs for Jews, most of whom are conscripted for three years after finishing school.
It added that Israel Railways was following dozens of other major Israeli firms and thousands of small businesses that keep jobs off limits to Arab workers by defining the roles as security related. MORE HERE

Hamas Had Double Agents During War
Hamas says it recruited double intelligence agents with Israel
GAZA, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Islamic Hamas movement revealed on Saturday that it has managed to recruit Palestinian collaborators with Israel during the last Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip that ended in Jan. 18.
A senior Hamas militant, who spoke in condition of anonymity, told a Hamas security website called "al-Majd" that "during the war, Hamas discovered collaborators with Israel and succeeded to recruit them as double agents."
"They became double agents and they managed to penetrate into the Israeli internal security intelligence known as the "Shabak," said the senior militant, adding "we have achieved a great success in this respect."
However, the official said "We managed to discover and follow a number of collaborators during the war on Gaza, then we recruited them and we used them against the enemy that invaded the Gaza Strip."
He said that during the war, Israel used collaborators that its security forces had recruited over the past two years.
"The collaborators used sophisticated technology, such as electronic instrument to send date and also spread rumors to weaken the internal front in Gaza," said Lafi.

Whitewashing IDF Atmosphere of Brutality
Israeli military police have closed an investigation into soldiers' accounts of abuses committed in Gaza, saying they were based on hearsay.
An Israeli military college published the accounts, which included claims that soldiers fired on civilians and vandalised property.
The probe concluded that the stories were "purposely exaggerated".
"The climate in general... I don't know how to describe it.... the lives of Palestinians, let's say, are much, much less important than the lives of our soldiers," an infantry squad leader was quoted saying in reports carried in Israeli newspapers.
While academy director Dany Zamir told public radio that "[the testimonies] conveyed an atmosphere in which one feels entitled to use unrestricted force against Palestinians".
Testimonies, which were given by combat pilots and infantry soldiers, also included allegations of unnecessary destruction of Palestinian property.
"We would throw everything out of the windows to make room and order. Everything... refrigerators, plates, furniture. The order was to throw all of the house's contents outside," a soldier said.
Heavy civilian casualties during the three-week operation which ended in the blockaded coastal strip on 18 January have provoked an international outcry.

Israeli Army Lab Rats~Illegal Experiments
MoD failed to supervise anthrax vaccine tests
The Defense Ministry said Thursday that it will examine the Israel Medical Association's harsh report on Omer 2, the IDF's seven-year clinical trials of an Israeli-developed anthrax vaccine on 716 healthy soldiers.
The report, which the High Court of Justice approved for release late Wednesday, calls for civilian supervision of clinical experimentation and sharply criticized the defense authorities, especially the IDF, for the fact that more than 4,000 soldiers were asked, under psychological pressure, to participate without giving their informed consent.
Dozens of ex-soldiers who were vaccinated as far back as 1999 complained of skin, eye, gastrointestinal and other side effects that persist today, but none of them was examined by the IMA committee members, so it's impossible to know if their symptoms resulted from the vaccination.
Although all but one of the committee members, including panel head Prof. Reuven Porat of the Rabin Medical Center, were physicians, the committee was not asked to conduct a medical follow-up of the soldiers who claimed to have been harmed.
The clinical trials "did not meet the standards of medical experimentation," Reches continued. "The IDF Helsinki Committee had eight members, but all were military people. There could easily have been a conflict of interest," Reches told The Jerusalem Post.
"There were three types of side effects - mild reactions at the site of injection on the skin, some system problems such as headaches and symptoms of fibromyalgia, [a disorder classified by the presence of chronic widespread pain and a heightened and painful response to gentle touch], and a few cases involving the triggering of overactivity of the immune system.
Meanwhile, Physicians for Human Rights-Israel, which took up the soldiers' cause after the Uvda broadcast, called the committee report's publication "an ethical earthquake" that requires an immediate halt to medical experimentation on soldiers and others.
"The cynical use of the soldier population, exploiting their subservience to the military system and their high patriotic motivation, points to the fallacy of leaving decisions about medical experiments on human beings in the hands of the defense establishment,
BREAKING NEWS~Hamas Arrest Gunmen Who Fired at IDF
Islamic Jihad sources said Thursday that Hamas detained a senior Jihad operative who headed the cell which fired on IDF forces near the Kissufim crossing, earlier in the day. According to the sources, efforts to have the man release proved futile
And more on this story here:
Hamas nabs Islamic Jihad gunman behind attack on IDF
Al-Quds Brigades cell opens fire at Israeli army outpost on border fence; short while later Hamas security detain Jihad man suspected of planning attack
Islamic Jihad gunmen opened fire noon Thursday on an IDF outpost situated along the security fence separating Israel from the Gaza Strip. There were no reports of injury among the soldiers, who returned fire.
A short while later Hamas security personnel apprehended a gunman suspected of heading the Islamic Jihad cell that carried out the attack. The man was transferred to Gaza City for interrogation. Hamas has accused him of "firing towards Israeli territory during a ceasefire."
A senior member of Islamic Jihad's armed wing, the Al-Quds Brigades, told Ynet that his group was unsuccessful in convincing Hamas to release the suspected cell leader, adding that Hamas security personnel "are not supposed to detain members of the resistance."

Those Evil Palestinian Children

Given this week’s revelation of the IDF t-shirts showing pregnant Palestinian women as targets with the caption “one shot-two kills” and the other t-shirt showing a Palestinian child as a terrorist. Well, those Evil Palestinian children that the IDF shoot and murder with impunity in Gaza are at it again. Proving the Israeli Government and IDF “hasbara” is just that, lies to create fear and thwart peace.
Palestinian children sing for Holocaust survivors
The Palestinian youths from a tough West Bank refugee camp stood facing the elderly Holocaust survivors on Wednesday, appearing somewhat defiant in a teenage sort of way. Then they began to sing.
The choir burst into songs for peace, bringing surprised smiles from the audience. But the event had another twist: Most of the Holocaust survivors did not know the youths were Palestinians from the West Bank, a rare sight in Israel these days. And the youths had no idea they were performing for people who lived through Nazi genocide - or even what the Holocaust was.
Most of the Palestinian youths had not seen an Israeli civilian before - only gun-toting soldiers in military uniforms manning checkpoints, conducting arrest raids of wanted Palestinians or during army operations.
Yeah, Im sure it's some evil plan by Palestinians, Israelis "know" they are all evil and should be wiped out and hate jews. what do you want to bet this never makes headlines except in haaretz!

Israeli Army Racism and Targeting Civilians REDUX

Yeah, the Israeli Army (IDF) are professional and would never target children, or target civilians, or use them for shields, or wear racist T-shirts that call on murdering pregnant Palestinian women. Now if you believe that I have some swamp land to sell you…. Read more…
Israeli soldiers' T-shirts show pregnant woman about to be shot
T-SHIRTS showing a pregnant Muslim in rifle crosshairs above the slogan "1 shot 2 kills" have been worn by Israeli soldiers to mark graduation.
Another shirt showed a child carrying a gun with the words: "The smaller they are, the harder it is".
The soldiers wore the shirts at the end of basic training and other courses, Israel's Haaretz newspaper reported.
The Israeli military sought to dismiss the shirts as "tasteless humour" and condemned the soldiers involved as "not in accordance with IDF (Israeli Defence Force) values," according to the Assoociated Press.

NEW REPORT~Israel Murdered 43 ½ Innocent Civilians Each Day

Israel Murdered 43 ½ Innocent Civilians Each Day
As reported I the Irish times, a new report just in states that the death toll for Israel’s 22 day genocide in Gaza came to a 1,434 with a staggering 960 innocent civilians. Translation, Israel was allowed by the International community to willfully murder 43 ½ innocent Palestinians each and every day of its 22 day holocaust in Gaza.
"Final Gaza toll includes 960 civilians, report shows
Israel's 22-day offensive in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip killed 1,434 people of whom the vast majority were civilians. According to a Palestinian human rights group, 960 civilians, 239 police officers and 235 fighters were killed by Israel during the onslaught.
"The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights' investigations reveal that throughout the course of the assault, Israeli Occupation Forces used excessive, indiscriminate force, in violation of the principle of distinction," the group said in a report (www.pchrgaza.org).
The principle of distinction "obliges all parties to the conflict to distinguish between combatants and non-combatants."
An Israeli military spokesman claimed the army had "made every effort to minimise harm to the civilian population" during the fighting. ( Yeah right mi arise!See my post about the Israeli IDF having a policy of killing children HERE and how they taught their soldiers to kill civilians HERE)
The group said it would publish a list of the identities of those killed next week and would post them on its website in Arabic, with an English version to follow.
"The Ministry of Health have also confirmed that a total of 5,303 Palestinians were injured in the assault, including 1,606 children and 828 women," it said.
It called for an international investigation into "crimes committed by the Israeli forces and Israel's conduct of hostilities" and "prosecution of all political and military officials" accused.
Israeli media have quoted officers as saying there was far less resistance from Islamist gunmen than they had expected." (Ok, so which is it then? Because I seem to notice almost all interviews with soldiers who are now worried about being charged with war crimes and they are pointing to how dangerous it was fighting HAMAS as their excuse for killing so many civilians. Hmmmmm, grasping at straws I’d say. GUILTY OF WAR CRIMES!! Throw them all in Jail for life)
Shot by Israel~American "Hanging by a Thread"

Here is the latest update on peaceful protester Tristan Anderson who was shot by Israeli Soldiers in the head. Rhetorical question here; “Why are Americans not outraged that Israel has attempted to murder yet another American?” I mean seriously, let us not forget the USS Liberty and all those men who have never seen justice. And what about Rachel Corrie? Her family will never see justice either. Why? Because Israel is America’s “friend.” Makes no sense does it……..With friends like these, who needs enemies I say.
U.S. activist Tristan Anderson 'hanging by a thread' after being injured in protest on Israel border
An American activist critically wounded by an Israeli gas canister in the West Bank is "hanging from a thread" after brain surgery Saturday, friends said.
Tristan Anderson, 38, a "tree-sitter" from Oakland, Calif., was hit in the forehead when troops shot tear gas during a protest of the separation barrier between Israel and the West Bank village of Naalin.
"He's really touch and go. He's hanging from a thread," friend Paul Larudee told the San Francisco Chronicle
They traveled to the West Bank to rally against the Israeli-erected barrier that could cut off Palestinian villages from valuable farmland.

BREAKING NEWS~~AMERICAN SHOT BY ISRAELI ARMY
American demonstrator critically wounded by IDF in Israel. But never mind, any American who has sympathy for Palestine is an enemy of Israel and a supporter of “terrorism”, well, according to Israel that is!! Remember Rachel Corrie????????
American badly hurt in clash with Israeli military
JERUSALEM (AP) — An American demonstrator was critically wounded Friday in a clash between protesters and Israeli troops over Israel's West Bank separation barrier.
Peace activists with the International Solidarity Movement said Tristan Anderson, of the Oakland, Calif., area, was struck in the head with a tear gas canister fired by Israeli troops. The military and the Tel Aviv hospital where Anderson was taken had no details on how he was hurt.
"He's in critical condition, anesthetized and on a ventilator and undergoing imaging tests," said Orly Levi, a spokeswoman at the Tel Hashomer hospital. She described Anderson's condition as "life-threatening."
Wake up America, these people are your enemy, they want to kill anyone who criticizes Israel, just like they murdered Rachel Corrie by running her over with an army bull dozer, now they are using bullets.
HAMAS WINS BIG VICTORY AGAINST ISRAEL

Bwahahaha!! Two days ago I wrote about how Israel had been negotiating with HAMAS over the release of their long held Israel Defense Force soldier Gilad Shalit. Yesterday Israel had offered to trade 226 of the 450 Palestinian prisoners it has held for ages. Israel’s first offer had already been rejected by Hamas, so yesterday Israel upped the number to 226, hoping Hamas would agree and Israel was awaiting an answer from Hamas. Evidently Hamas said “no way jose” because today Israel is now handing over ALL 450 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Shalit. I say again Bwahahaha!!
See below
Haaretz:
Sources: Israel agrees to free all 450 Hamas prisoners for Shalit
Israel has agreed to free all 450 of the prisoners demanded by Hamas in exchange for kidnapped Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit, and the dispute now revolves around Israel's demand that some of these prisoners be deported rather than returned home.
According to the sources, Israel is insisting that several dozen of the released prisoners be exiled abroad and that others be released to Gaza rather than the West Bank. However, Hamas has thus far agreed to the deportation of only a handful of prisoners, and has conditioned even this on the consent of the prisoners to be deported. It also opposes releasing prisoners to Gaza rather than the West Bank
This is yet another clear victory for Hamas. I say “another” because Operation Cast Lead is a huge failure, not only did Israel not succeed in stopping Hamas, but today there exists far more support for them then before Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Additionally, Israel has become a Pariah in the world. With many countries looking into war crime charges using International Jurisdiction. The world now hates Israel and offers all its sympathy for Palestine. If that's not enough, today Israel is forced to give over all 450 prisoners for Shalit. Yeah, Israel did real good, I say again, Bwahahah!!
But, (there is always a "but") I wondered why would this be so important for Irsael to trade all 450 prisoners for Shalit? One wonders, one really wonders. I mean could it possibly be that Israel's forced draft into the IDF may just run into some resistance?? And that young people won’t want to join up??? Hmmm let’s see:
Again from Haaretz
A group of Israeli teenagers have sent Prime Minister Ehud Olmert a letter warning that his government's failure to secure the release of abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit has made enlisting for military service more difficult for them.
"We find our enlisting in the IDF much more difficult knowing that Gilad Shalit has been forsaken in captivity and not returned to his parents,"
"When he was abducted, he was a kid, like us," they added. "Most of us are high school students, and we look forward to joining the army and serving our country. As future soldiers, we would like to be certain that if one of us is taken captive, the government will do whatever it takes to bring him back."
Well, Well, Well.............
Me thinks we have the wee answer above.
Again, I say BwaHaHaHa!

URINE & FECES~Israeli Army Leaves Calling Card

Well, what more is there to say here, this about sums up what Israel has become, a filth pit and cesspool of Zionist racist pigs.
Pots of urine, feces on the walls - how IDF troops vandalized Gaza homes
One Hebrew word scrawled on a wall tells the story of the 10 days when young Israeli soldiers became the ostensible prison wardens of five people. The youngest is Suheila Masalha, 55; the eldest is her mother Fatma, who is perhaps 85 or 90 or older. The only man is her brother Mohammed, 65, who is paralyzed and dependent on the women of his family. And there were two more women from the Abu Eida family - Rasmiya, 70, who owns the house, and her sister-in-law Na'ama, 56, who is blind.
"Jail" ("mikhla'a" in Hebrew), wrote the soldiers on the wall of the room where they kept the man and the four women. They did not allow them to use the toilet, but forced them to use all kinds of plastic containers kept in the room, for nine of the days. From other graffiti you can conclude that it was the soldiers of the Golani Brigade - who were drafted in August 2007, and in January and March of 2008 - who sketched orientation maps on the walls of nearly every room. For example, "Position: entry. Direction: southeast," and a few squares that indicated the houses in the area. "Us," or "We are here," or just an X marked on square No. 5 - Rasmiya Abu Eida's house that became an Israel Defense Forces base. –snip-
Like ants
In the midst of all of this were plastic bottles of urine and many closed bags - in some houses, olive-colored ones - of excrement. People assumed that the commanders stayed there. There are houses where excrement was smeared on the walls, or where dry piles of it were found in corners. In many cases, the smells indicated that soldiers had urinated on piles of clothing or inside a washing machine. In all the houses the toilets were overflowing and clogged, and there was filth all around. When the Abu Eidas returned to house No. 5 in Jabalya, they discovered pots of urine and excrement in the refrigerator.
The soldiers ordered the five people to go into one room and stay there. They let them take some food: bread, olives, oil, water. They confiscated the mobile phones when they saw Na'ama holding one: "You want to call your brother to come with Hamas, to shoot at us," said one of the soldiers. "Liar," they said a lot, as well as "shut up, you donkey," in broken Arabic. They imitated her mockingly when she said "Ya Rab" ("Oh God"). The five prisoners could not pray, as they were not allowed to clean themselves up before prayer and were forbidden to stand up. They were given two blankets, which were not enough, especially because the windows were smashed and the door was always open. A soldier always sat next to the door aiming his rifle at them. All five still have colds.
"You'll come out when we leave," was the answer given to Na'ama after she asked them to contact the Red Cross. Apparently, one soldier spoke fluent Arabic, another could speak some and others knew a phrase or two.
Soldiers broke down doors of grocery stores and helped themselves to candy and snacks. There were some who handed out candy to children; sometimes soldiers asked a child whom they forced to accompany them, as a human shield, to hand it out. –snip-
The IDF Spokesman's Office said in response that soldiers in Gaza were instructed in advance not to harm personal property unless there was a need to do so for operational purposes. "Not only did the soldiers not prevent the Palestinians from eating," the office said, "but they shared their army rations with them. The IDF has not received any reports about breaking into grocery stores. Concerning the claims about graffiti, the IDF sees this as a very serious matter, which contradicts the values and norms in which the soldiers are educated."

WAR CRIMES UPDATE

Following up on two posts I made last week HERE and HERE This is the latest update (below) on the possible war crimes charges against 25 top Israelis.
Interpol mulls Iran`s request for 25 Israeli officials over Gaza op
Interpol says it is studying a request from Iran for 25 Israeli officials to be placed on its most-wanted list over Israel's offensive in Gaza.
The international police agency says it took the unusual step of confirming the request publicly, as Iranian government officials have made their request public.
Interpol says in a statement released Tuesday that its legal team is studying the Iranian request for the issuance of 25 red notices, the highest-level alert Interpol issues. The Lyon, France-based agency says it received the request Saturday.
Iranian state TV reported March 2 that Iran's judiciary asked Interpol to issue arrest warrants for 15 Israelis over the Gaza offensive in December and January. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1070021.html

25/02/09 Israeli Army Admits to Policy of Killing Children

As we all watched in sheer horror and disbelief at the holocaust visited on Gaza during the months of December 2008 and January 2009, one thing became painfully clear. Israel targets children and they are guilty of War Crimes. In fact, they have already admitted this and I will cover their admission in this blog post. There’s just no getting away from this, the numbers don’t lie, neither did our television screens, or newspapers as we saw the Zionist grim reapers handiwork. Despite Israel’s massive attempts to censor journalists and the media, many brave souls persisted and managed to get the truth out.
Between December 2008 and January 2009, around 400 children were murdered in only two months, and the killing continues every day. Let us be VERY clear, that absolutely NO Israeli children have been killed during the operation “Genocide Cast Lead!”
So, how is it that the Israeli army kills so many innocent children? Are we to believe the “hasbara” they bombard us with and believe that they made over FOUR HUNDRED mistakes in Gaza? Surely the 4th largest army in the world has better aim than that! If not then how can Israel feel safe with such an army of bumbling idiots who can’t shoot straight (laugh out loud)
No, the IDF has a “policy”to kill children, and we will learn all about that today. For surely way back in 2000 there was an insightful interview done with an IDF sharpshooter soldier. He spilled the beans to the world. Sorry, but I had to put in two notes below out of nothing more than outrage. Note that Q=Question and A=Answer, read on.
Ok did you get that? First, we have to get past the UTTER INSANITY that the IDF tell their soldiers to kill 12 year olds and they only have to “guess” their age!! If you have children in Gaza pray they remain very short, because if they are 8 or 9 years old, and tall for their age, they are targets. And then consider the intelligence of this IDF sharpshooter soldier, I say, shaking my head in disbelief!! To everyone reading this, if you know a 12 year old, or have a 12 year old yourself, would you consider them to be an adult? Are they legitimate targets in war? If the answer is “no” about your own 12 year old, then that has to apply to every 12 year old in the world, including the Muslim ones. Note however, that the worldwide definition of a child is someone under the age of 18 (except in Israel of course, afterall, they never have to comply with the laws of the rest of the world do they!) I wonder if the Israeli army considers their own 12 year old children to be legitimate targets for Hamas? Hmmmmmm??? I think not! Double standards anyone? Smell the “hasbara” in the air? And the rule is, the IDF only have to “agree” among themselves that they “think” a child is 12 years old to shoot them. The cartoon below sums this policy up quite nicely! From Haaratz 2000
Amira Hass
Q=You haven’t shot children.
A=“All the sharpshooters haven’t shot children.”
Q=But nonetheless there are children who were hit, wounded or killed after they were hit in the head. Unless these were mistakes.
A=“If they were children, they were mistakes.”
Q=“You don’t shoot a child who is 12 or younger.”That is, a child of 12 or older is allowed?
A=“Twelve and up is allowed. He’s not a child any more, he’s already after his bar mitzvah. Something like that.” “Twelve and up, you’re allowed to shoot. That’s what they tell us.”
Q=Again: Twelve and up you’re allowed to shoot children.
A=“Because this already doesn’t look to me like a child by definition, even though in the United States a child can be 23.”(NOTE=WARNING HASBARA ALERT!!!!!!!!!!)
Q=Under international law, a child is defined as someone up to the age of 18.
A=“Up until 18 is a child?”(NOTE=Is this soldier stupid or what? Room temperature IQ perhaps? Is this the level of intelligence of an IDF sharpshooter? God help us all!!)
Q=So, according to the IDF, it is 12?
A=“According to what the IDF says to its soldiers. I don’t know if this is what the IDF says to the media.” (NOTE=Ah ha! So this means the IDF lie to the media, we have an admission of lying here!)
Q=I want to persist in the matter of the 12-year-olds. Why was this age set?
A=“I have heard that it was important to the IDF to know whether someone was over 12, so therefore I understood that the age of 12 is a border line. They haven’t told us any age, just that we must not shoot at children. The IDF doesn’t specify ages. (NOTE=so now we have a "no age" policy, any Palestinian of any age is a target!)

Oh, but there is more, I just can’t leave this article without including another intelligent quote from our brave child killing soldier. What does he think about wounding Palestinians as opposed to killing them? You’re gonna love this one!
Q=So why kill, why not just injure? He just said that if you hit someone with a bullet they will scream and say it "hurts" Oh dear, dear, and this is his logic for not wounding people but rather killing them????? Because if you just outright kill them they don't scream "it hurts?" These people are sick.
A=“If you decide to wound people, more people will get hurt, and the question is whether this is better. Wounding fans anger even more.”
Q=Who told you so?
A=“This is my opinion. That is, if you wound someone, even the process of getting hit, when he screams, says that it hurts.”

Now,getting back to the policy of killing children. Here they outright murder a 13 year old little girl who was scared of them. Excerpts from If Americans Knew:
Israeli officer: I was right
to shoot 13-year-old child
From 2004
An Israeli army officer who repeatedly shot a 13-year-old Palestinian girl in Gaza dismissed a warning from another soldier that she was a child by saying he would have killed her even if she was three years old. (CHILD MURDERING SCUM)
The officer, identified by the army only as Captain R, was charged this week with illegal use of his weapon, conduct unbecoming an officer and other relatively minor infractions after emptying all 10 bullets from his gun’s magazine into Iman al-Hams when she walked into a “security area” on the edge of Rafah refugee camp last month.
A tape recording of radio exchanges between soldiers involved in the incident, played on Israeli television, contradicts the army’s account of the events and appears to show that the captain shot the girl in cold blood
Record of a shooting:
Watchtower
‘It’s a little girl. She’s running defensively eastward’
Operations room
‘Are we talking about a girl under the age of 10?’
Watchtower
‘A girl of about 10, she’s behind the embankment, scared to death’
Captain R (after killing the girl)
‘Anything moving in the zone, even a three-year-old, needs to be killed’
Captain R took the unusual decision to leave the post in pursuit of the girl. He shot her dead and then “confirmed the kill” by emptying his magazine into her body. http://www.ifamericansknew.org/cur_sit/child-killed.html

Nice work Israel!! Proves you are the genocidal maniacs the world now think you are!
More from Haaretz by Gideon Levy, again, there is a pattern here!!
Killing children is no longer a big dealIsrael is creating dead babies and dead children everywhere, they are ruthless killers and show as much remorse as Hitler. Moving on to 2005, report from the UN, do we see a pattern here perhaps, Deja Vu?
More than 30 Palestinian children were killed in the first two weeks of Operation Days of Penitence in the Gaza Strip. It’s no wonder that many people term such wholesale killing of children “terror.” According to B’Tselem, the human rights organization, even before the current operation in Gaza, 557 Palestinian minors (below the age of 18) were killed, compared to 110 Israeli minors.
Palestinian human rights groups speak of even higher numbers: 598 Palestinian children killed (up to age 17), according to the Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group, and 828 killed (up to age 18) according to the Red Crescent. Take note of the ages, too. According to B’Tselem, whose data are updated until about a month ago, 42 of the children who have been killed were 10; 20 were seven; and eight were two years old when they died. The youngest victims are 13 newborn infants who died at checkpoints during birth.
Palestinian child deaths in conflict with Israel already nearly double that of 2005
United Nations
October 5, 2006
Ninety-one Palestinian children have already been killed this year in the West Bank and Gaza, almost double the number for the whole of 2005, with youngsters suffering increasing levels of stress from violence and fear in the Israeli-Palestinians conflict, according to the latest United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) update

So, the interview with the IDF soldier proves without a doubt that Israel does target children and is encouraged to do so. This is a war crime. In addition, there is clearly a long standing pattern dating from back in 2000, of Israel not only targeting children, but targeting Palestinians with death instead of wounding. I have wondered if the interview the IDF soldier gave could be used in a court as War Crimes evidence against the army targeting children. As the IDF clearly states, and the sharpshooter clearly stated, anyone aged 12 is a legitimate target, and you only have to guess their age to kill them. However, as the worldwide legal definition of a child is someone under 18 years of age, hence Israel is committing war crimes and this soldier confessed that in his interview. Israel does this with money from American tax payers given over to Israel by the American government. If you are American and don’t want to fund the next round of genocide Israel is planning, then do something about it, do it for yourself, do it for your children, do it for all 12 year olds in the world, and do it for your conscience.
