Norway has always been known for its worldwide humanitarian efforts and generous foreign aid. It is no coincidence that Norway is always ranked first in the world by the United Nations.

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has just such a historic opportunity tomorrow when it considers voting for an academic boycott of Israel, a nation that for too long has lived by violence, ethnic cleansing, military expansionism, illegal occupations, subjugation of millions of innocent Palestinians, defied all divine and international laws that respect and value human life, and that since its establishment has committed countless terrorist acts and war crimes, lately documented by the Goldstone Report, all with impunity, never accountable for its actions in courts of justice, the U.N., or to all of humanity. The West, especially the U.S., has constantly protected Israel's interests at the expense of its own interests.

In 1982 Sharon invaded Lebanon committing a widespread genocide that began in Southern Lebanon and ended in a three month devastating siege of Beirut, a city overwhelmed by hundreds of thousands of refugees from Southern Lebanon who fled the Israeli army's advance. This genocide resulted in the murder of 20,000 Lebanese and Palestinian civilians other than the cold blooded massacre of 1,700 Palestinians in the refugee camps of Sabra and Chatila. Under Sharon's protection, encouragement, and direction, the Christian Phalangists shed the blood of men, women, the elderly, and children. Sharon even provided powerful night lights for the murderers' to commit their slaughter. All the world could do is condemn the massacre without laying blame on Israel.

From the air, sea, and land Sharon unleashed his murderous campaign upon a crowded urban city bombing churches, mosques, hospitals, schools, orphanages, retirement homes, electrical and water plants, roads, bridges, the airport and sea port; not even ambulances and medics were spared.

He would bomb bakeries where men, women, and children stood in long lines for scarce bread.

Planes would bomb an area and await the gathering of ambulances, medics, and citizens to pull persons out of the wreckage only to bomb it again to inflict more casualties.

Ambassador Phil Habib, Reagan's personal envoy to stop the genocide in Beirut worked hard to reach a peace agreement between Sharon and Lebanon while promising the safety of the Palestinian civilians upon the departure of Yasser Arafat and the PLO from Lebanon. However, he discovered that Israel could never be trusted to keep its word.

In John Boykin's book, "Cursed is the Peacemaker" (2002, Applegate Press) he quotes Ambassador Habib as saying.

"I had signed this paper which guaranteed that these people in west Beirut would not be harmed. I got specific guarantees on this from Bashir (President of Lebanon) and from the Israelis--from Sharon'. He said he 'had been given assurances... that no action would be taken against the Palestinians remaining in the camps.... On the basis of those assurances we (Americans) had given our word. We had been deceived.... Sharon was a killer, obsessed by hatred of the Palestinians,' Habib said. 'I had given Arafat an undertaking that his people would not be harmed, but this was totally disregarded by Sharon whose word was worth nothing.'"

As is customary with Israel and U.N. Resolutions, Israel defied and rejected over a dozen UN Security Council Resolutions asking Israel to at least allow humanitarian aid into Beirut.

Israel's intransigence to make peaceful concessions to the Palestinians that they too may enjoy the freedom, liberty, and independence their occupiers enjoy makes us all complicit in this tragedy with our silence and inaction.

It is shocking that the world accepts Israel's genocides and threats against its neighbors as fait accompli without regard to the never ending suffering of Palestinians under its brutal military occupation. Palestinians and Lebanese die, suffer, and endure in silence in a world conditioned to accept Israel's "right to self defense", a euphemism for wanton murder. They die in silence absent from the western conscience due to the blanket support of most western media outlets, none more so than in America ,the nation exporting democracy and freedom through smart bombs and biased politicians who if dare to criticize Israel jeopardize their ambitions and become the recipients of the worst media smears. In the U.S. no debate or action is allowed against Israel neither by our own "never challenge Israel" government nor by our staunchly Pro Israel media.

The academicians and experts invited to your university to speak on this issue know first hand their personal victimization at the hands of Pro Israel forces. They have risked much for the truth and are honorable men and women.

Please do the right thing and vote for an academic boycott of Israel, a nation that is neither civilized nor democratic, by setting an educational precedent for your university, faculty, alumni, but most importantly for your students, that standing up for principle is the foundation for all just laws and human rights for all peoples and not just the powerful few.

Teach them to adopt "freedom from fear" as their guiding principle in life while facing all challenges, especially challenges that discriminate between the powerful and the weak, the haves and have nots, that no people should be victimized by the power of money and weapons.

The freedom to walk freely and not be arrested, kidnapped, detained or interned without Due Process of the Law, the freedom that comes with equality and civil rights, the freedom to get an education, the freedom to travel, the freedom to have clean water, the freedom to own a weapon to protect yourself and family, the freedom of speech and political views, the freedom to voice those views without arrest, the freedom to live free and unencumbered, the freedom to elect your government and then have it recognised worldwide as legitimate.

But most of all “the protection of life, liberty, and property”

However, Israel has forced America to abandon its founding principles for those of Israel instead. Killing the Goldstone report only serves to cement what Arabs and Muslims already think about America. By removing the rule of law for “one” group of people, in order to allow another “group” of people to escape the Law, makes you an accessory to that crime. Instead of proving the American principles of Justice and upholding the Law for “everyone.” America instead has sent a message to Arabs and Muslims that they don’t matter. They are 2nd class lesser people whom cannot expect the law to work for them. Use some common sense please. America “says” it wants “so called radical Muslims” to live by the law and respect the law. That’s what America preaches. However, when a UN body, led by an internationally recognised Judge who dealt with South Africa and was applauded by America, then turns to investigate Israeli war crimes, and America tells the world to pay no attention, forgo the law because Israel can do no wrong. What message does that give to all those Arabs and Muslims who AMERICA just told to respect the Law and work within legal boundaries? Congratulations America, you just told them to forget the law and only violence will work, keep bombing, keep attacking, keep blowing up buildings all over the world. Because when the ONE opportunity for America to uphold the rule of law, to lead by words, deeds and example, it failed MISREABLY!

So whilst Americans enjoy all this “freedom” maybe they should think about the stolen freedoms lost to others, which America supports by enabling Israel to make a mockery the founding principles of America itself. As you read the examples below of what just ONE week is like, living AS a Palestinian, living ON Palestinian land, IN your own country, then ask yourself if you would fight tooth and nail against a foreign oppressor that exists on YOUR soil, taking away ALL your rights, simply because they are armed to their eyeballs with AMERICAN weapons and AMERICAN support and now with even the rule of law stolen from them so Israel can continue to act with Impunity?

Writing in Politico yesterday, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) strongly
criticized the House vote:

Congress is poised to oppose the Goldstone report
without holding a single hearing on a document that few members of Congress, if
any, have read.

This is a mistake. The stance of this Congress will erode U.S. credibility in the post-Obama world, and it will tarnish our commitment to the principle that all nations must be held to the same standards.
We stand for the values of democracy, truth and justice.

There is no reason for Congress, Israel or any other party to fear an honest judge. Richard Goldstone is such a judge, and his report should be studied, not dismissed.

Ellison is right. The House cast a cynical vote; one that, no doubt, many are
ashamed of. The United States should be an honest broker between Israelis and
Palestinians, not act as if "Israel Is Us." Actions like the House's yesterday
are not just wrongheaded, they endanger America's security. We simply cannot
afford to have every Muslim and Arab on the planet believe that our concern for
human rights extends to everyone, but not to them. We need a course correction
fast, for the sake of Israelis and Palestinians, but mostly for our own.

Turkish police detained around 20 students on Wednesday after they pelted Israel's ambassador with eggs to protest the Jewish state's treatment of Palestinians, forcing him to cancel a university visit.

The protest took place outside the university in the Black Sea port of Trabzon as Ambassador Gabby Levy arrived in his car, Anatolia news agency reported.

"Israel is a murderer," television footage showed the students shouting.

Israel's deputy war minister Matan Vilnai told the Hebrew radio on Wednesday that Israel will have "no choice" but to invade Gaza if Palestinian militants step up rocket attacks.

Israeli occupation forces , have arrested at dawn of today (4/11) one Palestinian citizen in Jenin , while it was started several attacks against the citizens in Tubas in addition to the several areas of Jenin city .

Also, eight military vehicles raided the town of Burkin, near Jenin, and were stationed in the west neighborhood of the town, and arrested the young Mohammed Hamdan (30 years) and took him to an unknown destination after searching his home using sniffer dogs.

Israeli forces also stormed back to the cafe, owned by Ahmed Daraghmeh in the town of Tubas in the late evening of yesterday, and taken them out in to the air, and started to search with their contents , and there is no arrests were reported . link

ISRAEL MUST BE SO PROUD OF AMERICA

The United States of Israel has just voted to condemn the goldstone report. With 344 in favor to 36 opposed, with 22 chicken shits who voted "absent" to support murder, slaughter, collective punishment, internment and ALL forms of International Law breaking. Israel has spent it's money well inside America. All those years of bribes, billions in campaign contributions and arm twisting has paid off big time for Israel. And to think, I thought the American slaves were freed, guess not.

Today America has done its masters bidding and voted to condemn the Goldstone Report, and in doing so sends a very CLEAR message to the Arab and Muslim world. That message says that equality under the law does not exist for you, legal avenues are shutdown for you, the law means nothing, it doesn't apply to you. And to think Obama wants to "extend the hand of friendship" to the Muslim world? When in fact his message has been heard loud and clear, choose violence and resistance over the law....THAT is America's message.

As expected, the House approved Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.) and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen’s (R-Fla.) resolution condemning South African judge Richard Goldstone’s inquiry for the United Nations into war crimes committed last year in Gaza by Israel and Hamas. The lopsided final vote was 344 in favor to 36 opposed, with 22 “present” votes. source

Although this is a non-binding resolution, Obama has never shown any backbone since he's been in office, hence I don't expect him to go against what the Zionist owned politicians voted for today.

An arrest warrant was issued for a Jewish South African businessman who is alleged to have duped investors in a Ponzi scheme.

Barry Tannenbaum is alleged to have defrauded investors out of $1.61 billion.
Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan said in parliament in Cape Town Tuesday that a warrant had been issued for Tannenbaum, who is believed to be living in Australia, as well as for his South African lawyer, Dean Rees.

Tannenbaum, 43, is believed to have enticed nearly 800 investors—many of them allegedly Jews from South Africa, Britain, Israel and Australia—with promises of returns of up to 200 percent.

His assets in South Africa have been frozen by a local court and the National Prosecuting Authority has started proceedings to extradite him, Business Day reported Wednesday.

In June, when the scandal was revealed, Tannenbaum categorically denied it as “wild allegations, conjecture and speculation.” He did not reply to an e-mailed request from Bloomberg news service for comment on the arrest warrant.

A spokesman for the South African task force set up in the wake of the scandal said Interpol could arrest the pair “no matter where they are in the world,” according to South African media. source

HAMAS OFFERS TO TALK TO OBAMA

Speaking to a delegation of American doctors visiting the Gaza Strip on October 29, Hamas Prime Minister Esmail Haniya acknowledged an "optimistic mood" in the region, thanks to the Obama Administration.

He commended "Obama's new language" and called for direct dialogue between Hamas and the US — words that sent shockwaves throughout the upper echelons of power in the Fatah-controlled West Bank.

Haniya added, "We are for peace [with the Israelis], not against it," adding that the Palestinians are looking for "real support" from Obama.

These strong words — a U-turn on the behalf of Hamas — came shortly after the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) of President Mahmoud Abbas unilaterally announced that it will be holding nationwide elections on January 24, 2010, angering the Hamas leadership that called them "illegal and unconstitutional".

Hamas argued that no elections can be held before reconciliation is achieved, noting that Abbas has "no right to issue any decree concerning the elections" given that his presidential tenure expired in January 2009. Haniya's Interior Ministry said that it would prevent the elections in Gaza, whether presidential or legislative, and prohibit the Central Elections Committee (CES) from preparing for the ballots in the enclave.

Unspoken truth
Haniya is clearly trying to market himself and his party as new interlocutors for the United States in the Occupied Territories. He believes that after the Goldstone Report scandal, which turned Palestinian public opinion against Abbas, Fatah's ability to unify its rank and consolidate its power is shrinking to comically low levels.

Although still an unspoken truth, many powers in the West — the US included — have concluded that Abbas and his team can no longer deliver, neither on nation-building nor on peace, and have lost what remains of the credibility bequeathed to them by Yasser Arafat. If the US wants to reach any solution on the Palestine-Israeli conflict, it has to engage directly with Hamas.
The scenario clear in Haniya's mind is that of Arafat's 1987 dialogue with the United States, which he hopes to repeat with Obama. After decades of being treated as an outlaw and terrorist, Arafat had been eager to open direct contact with the incoming administration of Ronald Reagan. He agreed to deliver a speech the Americans dictated to him, via George Shultz, at a UN meeting in Geneva, denouncing all kinds of terrorism as a condition for engagement between Fatah and the US.

Arafat accepted (yet due to poor English, used the word ‘tourism' instead of ‘terrorism'). Four hours later, unable to ignore his U-turn, the US announced that it was ready for talks with Yasser Arafat.

On December 15, the next day, the first US-Palestinian meeting took place between the US ambassador to Tunisia and the PLO. It was a public relations success for Arafat and, eventually, led to Oslo in 1993.

Hamas hopes that by stating its willingness to engage with the US, just like Arafat did 22 years ago, someone as pragmatic as Obama will jump at the opportunity to engage with Hamas. Obama, after all, has no historic commitment to Fatah, and judges leaders by what they are worth — how beneficial they are to world progress and regional development. For the past 10 months, Abbas has been unable to protect or advance his people's interests of peace, nor those of the United States in the Middle East.

What Haniya was saying was: "Ditch Abbas and come deal with us, instead, as the legitimate representatives of the Palestinians. You can do business with us and we are both ready and willing to sit down and talk with the US."

It is a big departure for a man who not only refused to deal with the US but also sought to restore all of the 1948 areas to Palestinians and entirely destroy the state of Israel. Haniya is the face of a Hamas that has become wiser with age, more pragmatic in its outreach thanks to the trappings of power.

Hamas leaders want to be recognised as statesmen, rather than guerrilla fighters, and nothing would grant them de facto recognition in Gaza better than direct talks with the United States.
Crucial vote

If dialogue and peace are the price for recognition, then this is a price Hamas is, seemingly, now willing to pay.

One stumbling block to Hamas' agenda, however, would be the upcoming elections called for by Abbas. If they do happen, and Fatah wins the ballots in the West Bank, it would be very difficult for the US to take up Haniya's offer — regardless of how attractive it may seem. If Fatah wins, it would get the constitutional umbrella it needs for another term in power, which would last until Obama's first term expires in 2013, drowning the agenda of Haniya.

So for 24 hours the cries of “Anti-Semitism” rang out, the LA police had to beef up security for Jews in the area, (or else) because of the predicited outcry. Scholars for Peace in the Middle East is objecting to the possible boycott of Israeli scholars and academic institutions by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.

The university's board is to vote on the recommended boycott on Nov. 12 following a lecture on Israel's alleged use of anti-Semitism as a political tool. NO!!! GASP!! REALLY? WOULD THEY DO THAT? The lecture is part of a six-session seminar on Israel that has been given by Norwegians and Israelis known for highly critical attitudes toward Israel.

Critics called on "academic colleagues from around the world ... to refute and condemn the campaign" at the university, according to a statement released Saturday.

A Canadian federal court will review a decision made earlier this year to deny firebrand British lawmaker George Galloway entry for a speaking tour, his backers said Monday.

Galloway had been notified in March by border officials that his donations of cars and cash to the Hamas-run government in Gaza made him inadmissible to Canada, as Hamas is listed in Canada as terrorist organization.

He was later denied an injunction that might have allowed him to speak at anti-war forums in Canada.

Monday, his supporters said in a statement the Federal Court of Canada has "agreed to hear a judicial review of the government's decision to ban his entry from Canada."

A hearing is set for January 2010.

"He is eager to return to Canada," James Clark, spokesman for the Toronto Coalition to Stop the War, told AFP.link

EGYPT'S CRIMINAL ACTIONS

YET,Egypt is blocking Aid convoys to Gaza. Egypt’s new tactic is to not allow convoys to travel across Egypt by road. This does not bode well for the upcoming Viva Palestina huge convoy in December this year. I am wondering if they will even be allowed to enter Egypt once they arrive at the Egyptian border. After many weeks of attempting to deliver their stockpile of medical aid to Gaza, the Mile of Smiles convoy under the Friends of Humanity Human Rights Organisation, is still being held in Port Said along with their vehicles and aid. Just last week the Egyptians took 160 tons of "terrorist" cookies off the convoy, sending them to Israel instead of Gaza where the cookies were intended to be distributed to Palestinians children. Now they will be enjoyed by fat little Jewish children instead. It now appears that the Egyptians are blackmailing the convoy into using questionable shipping firms and boats that charge a huge amount of money, to now take the aid convoy directly to Gaza from Port Said. The Vienna-based Friends of Humanity human rights organization has lashed out at the Egyptian authorities for refusing to allow access for the Miles of Smiles European aid convoy heading to Gaza through Egyptian land.

The organization in a statement on Sunday severely criticized Cairo for holding the sea convoy off the harbor of Port Said for almost three weeks.

It said that Cairo was afraid of Egyptian popular support to be shown with the besieged Gaza Strip during the convoy's expected route from Port Said to Gaza.
It said that around 100 international sympathizes were aboard the ship carrying the aid shipment and had exerted big efforts to secure the needs of Palestinian children especially the disabled.

It charged the Egyptian authorities with participation in besieging the Gaza people, and asked Cairo to open the Rafah crossing before necessary supplies and reconstruction materials as well as people.
