Harvard Students Take Stand Against Ethnic Cleansing Comments by Zionist Fellow

On Kramers Statements

We address this op-ed to Beth Simmons (Director, Weatherhead Center for International Affairs), Jeffry Frieden and James Robinson (Acting Directors, WCIA), and Drew Faust (President, Harvard University).

We write as gravely concerned students and student group leaders representing over 16 groups throughout Harvard University. Our entire constituency can be viewed online.

We are disturbed by the racist and inhumane comments of Martin Kramer, Visiting Scholar at the National Security Studies Program at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. We have become even more alarmed that rather than taking a dissociating or even strictly neutral stance against such extremist and hateful statements, the Weatherhead Center issued a defensive response.

At the Herzliya Conference in Israel last month, Mr. Kramer, who in his own words provides advice on “U.S. policy options in the Middle East,” advocated measures to diminish Palestinian birth rates as a means of population control. Mr. Kramer stated that Israel’s siege on Gaza, which prohibits the entry of crucial humanitarian supplies, helps “break Gaza’s runaway population growth and there is some evidence that they have.” He suggests that this phenomenon “may begin to crack the culture of martyrdom, which demands a constant supply of superfluous young men.” Mr. Kramer’s public call to halt food, medicine, and humanitarian aid—which he calls “pro-natal subsidies”—would read as a cruel joke if it did not so egregiously violate the most basic norms of human decency. Such statements have been echoed by people in power and have even been directed at Israel’s Palestinian citizens: At the same conference in 2003, Israel’s current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Palestinian citizens of Israel a “demographic threat.”

Harvard professor Stephen M. Walt commented, “What if a prominent academic at Harvard declared that the United States had to make food scarcer for Hispanics so that they would have fewer children? Or what if someone at a prominent think tank noted that black Americans have higher crime rates than some other groups, and therefore it made good sense to put an end to Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and other welfare programs, because that would discourage African Americans from reproducing and thus constitute an effective anti-crime program?”

Had Mr. Kramer’s comments been directed at any other marginalized or minority groups—leaving aside the enormous challenge faced by Palestinians living in the impoverished enclosure of Gaza—we believe that the Weatherhead Center would not have hesitated to classify them as racist and hateful. It has described Mr. Kramer’s proclamations as “controversial,” an alarming position since less than a century ago similar remarks were made against African Americans and Jews. The characterization of his statements as merely “controversial” is offensive and dismisses their deeply racist nature.

Since the Weatherhead Center provides Mr. Kramer with a legitimizing and prominent public platform, we wonder whether it views any policy call as ethically disgraceful. We are troubled that the center has presented little to no diversity of viewpoints on the Israel-Palestine conflict. The only notable statements on the conflict emerging from the center are Mr. Kramer’s.

However, we believe that the Weatherhead Center has an opportunity to rectify the damage caused by Mr. Kramer’s repugnant statements and redeem its esteem with the student body. First, we ask that the Weatherhead Center not renew Mr. Kramer’s fellowship or affiliation with the NSSP. Second, we call on the center to establish a committee of faculty and students to recommend the adoption of a set of vetting practices for incoming fellows that uphold a set of principles unified on non-racism, in concert with Harvard University’s own commitment to non-discriminatory practices and diversity of viewpoints. We are concerned that the defense of Mr. Kramer’s statement reflects a violation of basic principles to which the Weatherhead Center and Harvard University claim to adhere. The above measures are an effective way for the center and the University to make amends.

The original story was reported by Electronic Intifada on February 22 and can be found here. Kramers responses are on his website and include an accusation that the E.I calls for the "total destruction of Israel"- a blatant lie. Also on his site is the video of the speech along with the usual insistence that as usual-a Zionist is being simply "misunderstood" by the lesser life forms-yet again . I'm sorry, I won't post a link to that despicable space here.

I look forward to a response and action from Harvard University.

HOME

The idea of one’s “home” represents many things. Home can mean the country where you live, a place where you began and flourished. A place that belongs to you and you alone, a place where you are born into, or grew up in. A place where you feel comfort and safety from the world outside. A place where you can be yourself, a place where you can loose yourself in thought and quietness. A place with safe sturdy walls, and window to look out of. A place to seek refuge, a place to stay warm, a place to be proud of, a place to raise a family. A place that reflects who and what you are.

So, given that a home can be all of these important things on an emotional and security level. How would you feel if all of these things were stolen from you in a mere few seconds? Or what about generations of homelessness, of refugees, of having no belonging, no safety, no security, no sturdy walls, no windows, no doors, no warmth, no place to flourish……

Meet the people of Gaza who were made homeless by Israel:

PRISONER OF HOPE

Facing the news on Palestine each day can make even the most jovial Irish person melancholy at times. So if yur looking for the usual banter and craic, it's not here today. Instead a somber rant on Zionists, religion, and the world:

I was raised in a Christian family, like all good Irish. My views on religion have changed immensely as I’ve grown older. During the troubles in Ireland, even the non religious Catholics embraced the Catholic religion and went to mass, more so as a statement of defiance than anything else. Our religion was under attack, and that drew more of us in to protect it and defend it, this works in all other religions as well. When people of a certain faith believe their faith is under attack the religious become more religious, and even the non-believers will defend it to the core. Ireland or the Middle East, same deal.

I wouldn’t say I’m anything these days, no affiliation with any organised religion, not after the horrors I’ve seen in this world that revolve around “so called” religious people and their “various religions.” I now have my own family, and although none of us are “religious” in the real sense of the word, we instead try to live lives that help other people. This is our families “religion.” But, when I was younger religion and the world itself, had a different meaning altogether. Remember when you were only small, and your parents protected you from knowing of the evil in the world. You’d look at picture books of the people around the world, their different cultures. They always appeared so happy in the books, no troubles at all, everyone was free to live their lives despite their cultural and religious differences. Still, if you listened late at night you could hear the hushed talk of the adults, and you knew all was not as it seemed. That this world was not truly the place you thought it was. This is the beginning of innocence lost. Of coming to terms with the very sad fact that most of those people in the picture books in fact hated each other. If for no other stupid reason than a difference in religion. God wars, just like at home in Ireland the 800 years of Protestant vs. Catholic. Sadly, the world was just like us, filed with hatred for those who are “different.”

As you grow you soon see that there is always an aggressor and a victim, rarely are the two sides pitted against each other equal in strength and military ability. You begin to realise that as some groups of people gain power, they easily toss aside any memories of when they themselves were once the victim. And in a bizarre twist of fate, become the aggressor themselves. This is an awful side effect of power, but not every group of people have this desire. However, those who have made the transition from victim to aggressor believe with all their being, that should their own victims ever become equal, or gain any real power, that they will do to them what they have done. This is their guilty conscience at work along with racist fears and paranoia. It was the same in Ireland. Protestants believed that the cruelty they had towards us would be turned against them once we became equal. But, the REAL truth is that people just want to be equal and treated fairly, and once they get equality then they just get on with building their country and living their lives. They don’t want to then create another situation where they have to keep fighting the same foe for all of eternity. That is not human nature. They only want to live like everyone else. It really is that simple! Only the aggressors cannot get over their irrational fear that their victims will seek a horrible revenge. To that paranoid thought, I’d refer to what happened here and in South Africa for evidence that people just want to move on from conflict and live in peace equally.

And this got me to thinking about Israel and its behaviour and moreover, those who support Israel’s behaviour. How difficult it must be for Jews both in Israel and outside of Israel to read the news online each day. The continued bashing of Israel’s actions, the criticism, the anger, the outrage, that Jews feel hated. I get that. No one wants to be hated, even hard core Zionists at “some level” surely have feelings, even if they never speak of them. It’s human nature to want to be loved and accepted. But in order to RECIEVE love and acceptance from the world, you must first exhibit love and acceptance OF the world. This is where Israel and Zionists get it so very wrong.

Instead, Israel spends billions on bribing politicians in every country, creating hasbara programs, armies of online bloggers, talking heads on TV, attempting to change laws pertaining to our civil rights and free speech, attempting to censor bloggers, papers and TV stations, and a whole host of other propaganda techniques in a failing effort to win support and “change” people’s minds. And with each of these very “forceful” attempts, it only works against them, in spades. Because with each of these attempts yet another person is converted into the anti-Zionist/Israel camp. Yet another person becomes aware of the evil policies that stem from a sectarian religious fanatical state that acts with impunity and worse, endangers the world for the rest of us peons.

So, to Israel and those who support blindly its racist and illegal actions, I say this; what happened to Judaism? What happened to those who became free from the Nazis? Did they go out into the world and fight to change it, so that the horrors of the Nazi’s would never happen again to them OR anyone else?? That was the mistake. We don’t want to hate you; we’re just sick and tired of what you continue to do each day in the name of your new and improved Zionist religion. We hate the fact that you have become what you once fought against, the very evil you despised. We are in “utter awe” that you cannot see what you are doing, that you are so blinded by your hatred. And most of all, we are in “awe” of what you are doing to your own selves, your own history, your own legacy in this world. What will history say about you and your actions against your fellow Semites? Do you even care? Probably not, but you should. This Zionist mentality will destroy you and be your downfall. It’s already happening, bit by bit. I know you tell yourselves that after you finish your illegal actions of ethnic cleansing in the region, when you are done taking what land you want from others, when your best friend America helps to get you off from War Crimes charges and the Goldstone Report. When time passes and the world is not as focused on Palestine as it is now. That you will get away with what you have done and are doing, you think things will change for you. That people will forget. Again, you only need look to your very own history for the answer. Has the world forgotten about Hitler and the Holocaust? The same will stand true for your own actions against Palestine, you are writing new passages in history each day, and those passages will not reflect kindly on Jews or Israel. Israel and its blind supporters should think about that for longer than a few minutes.

Simply return to the 67 borders and live in peace. This is even Hamas position, not to mention the majority of the worlds position. All the world wants from Israel and Jews is “humanity” because with humanity comes all the rest; an end to the occupation, the siege, the ethnic cleansing, the illegal settlements, the hatred. With humanity, comes respect, equality, and love for others. Israel should join us in humanity and instead of killing their neighbours, embrace them, whilst the door is still open and the welcome mat out. Experience what it feels like to wake up and not be hated, but instead be respected for changing ways, for seeing the light. Maybe I wrote this because somewhere in my non-believer soul, I thought of that little child I once was, years ago, when I saw the pictures of people around the world in that book, and marvelled at their unique differences, when I thought the world was a decent accepting place. So, I’ll end with this; A few days ago Desmond Tutu was on television, he was speaking about “hope” and he said something that struck me. He said that he was a “Prisoner of Hope.” So, that is what I shall try to be, that will be my “religion.” I am, a prisoner of hope.

Happy Holidays to all………..

MORE TROUBLE FOR PALESTINIANS IN EAST JERUSALEM

Uh boy, more trouble for the poor Palestinians. It seems the Zionist so called “police force” have been on a wee trip to the North of Ireland. Why? Well, they came to learn from the masters of murder, torture, oppression and collusion. They have come to “learn PSNI methods” note; the PSNI is the “new” name given to the same old RUC. In essence, lipstick has been put upon the pig, to dress it up and make it presentable, but it’s still a pig.
Link A DELEGATION of nine senior Israeli police officers has just completed a short period in Northern Ireland studying how the PSNI deals with community tensions. Maj Gen Amichai Shai, head of the Israeli police’s human resources department, and who previously worked at operational level throughout Israel, said the visit was very useful, particularly in devising ideas and strategies on how to engage with minority communities.

He said Israeli police were trying to devise better strategies for dealing with minorities such as Palestinians living in Israel and also with groups such as Bedouins, Druze, Christian and fundamentalist Jews.
So what tactics will they learn from the RUC? What policing methods will they take back to deploy against the “ethnic minorities” in Israel and occupied East Jerusalem? I will outline a few of the MANY examples of policing we are talking about here. More after a few "Visual examples" click to enlarge:

A large part of some of the most horrific atrocities that took place here were at the hands, or the behest or help of the RUC. The “so called” police force, which, was actually an armed Protestant militia operating with impunity against the Irish and Catholics.

What will the Zionist police learn from the RUC? Plenty…..Their specialty consisted of Murders, collusion with Loyalist paramilitary gangs, raids at all hours, terrorizing, threats, and terrorist death squads. There was no rule of law what so ever, not even our Civil Rights lawyers were safe, Civil Rights Lawyer Rosemary Nelson wiped out in a car bomb. This after reporting she had received death threats from the RUC and Loyalists, these were reported before the United Nations and the United States Congress, to no avail.
wiki In 1998, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers, Param Curamaswamy, noted these threats in his annual report, and stated in a television interview that he believed her life could be in danger. He made recommendations to the British government concerning threats from police against lawyers, which were not acted upon. Later that year, Nelson testified before a committee of the United States Congress investigating human rights in Northern Ireland, confirming that death threats had been made against her and her three children.[1] Nelson was killed, at the age of 40, by a car bomb outside her home in Lurgan, County Armagh, in 1999.
Then we have another Civil Rights lawyer. Pat Finucane murdered whilst eating dinner with his family and children in his own home.

But it was not only the collusion and hands on murder or assisted loyalist murders they were guilty of. Often the murders were merely ones that took place on mere happenstance whlst the RUC stood idly by both watching and allowing the murders to take place. And afterwards tipping off the murders and helping them avoid capture and arrest. After all, they must stick together to continue their murdering and ethnic cleansing of Irish Catholics from Protestant areas:
wiki Robert Hamill was attacked by a group of Loyalists while walking home from St. Patricks' dance hall with friends in the early morning of 27 April 1997.[1][2] After walking along Market Street from the dance hall, they came to the intersection of Market and Thomas Streets in Portadown, where they were attacked.[1][2] Robert and Gregorvy Girvan were kicked by the crowd while their attackers shouted abuse at them and Robert Hamill was knocked unconscious almost immediately.[2] Gregory's wife Johanne and his sister Siobhan Garvin called for help from four RUC officers sitting in a Land Rover about twenty feet away from the attack, but they didn't intervene to stop the attack.[2] The assault lasted about ten minutes, leaving both men unconscious.[1] Just before the ambulance arrived, one of the RUC men got out of the Land Rover and told Siobhan to put Robert into the recovery position.

Robert Hamill never regained consciousness and died of his injuries on 8 May 1997.[1] The cause of his death was recorded as "Diffuse Brain Injury associated with Fracture of Skull due to Blows to the Head".[1]

Six people were arrested after Robert Hamill's death, but only one was eventually tried for his murder.[2] Paul Rodney Marc Hobson was charged with murder, but found not guilty.
And here’s what the Zionists had to say when they were done “learning” from the RUC:
“I think one of the important things we have learned is the focus here on policing with the community as opposed to policing the community,” he said.

Maj Gen Shai said he was also impressed with the PSNI being described as a police “service” and this was a focus that could be usefully applied in Israel.
God help the Palestinians in Occupied East Jerusalem, they have become the Irish in Occupied Ireland. And evidently will now be treated as such.

ISRAEL SOLVES PESKY PROBLEM OF NON-JEWS

Israel has solved one of it’s greatest problems, they have discovered the ability to stop Jews marrying Non-Jews. Yes, they’ve discovered how to stop this from taking place by bringing them to Israel on a “FREE” indoctrination trip. Where the unsuspecting recipients will undergo hasbara and anti-Goy brainwashing.
The cure for secular US Jews? Free trips to Israel

Taglit sends Jews aged 18 to 26 who have never been to Israel, on a free, 10-day trip to the Jewish state. Its goal, when it launched in 1999, was to foster the connection between young Jews, Israel and the Jewish community.

Professor Leonard Saxe of Brandeis University this week revealed the findings of a five-month study of Taglit alumni who went to Israel between 2001 and 2004. Taglit participants were 57 per cent more likely to be married to another Jew and 30 per cent more likely to view raising children as Jews as “very important”, compared with non-participants.

One in six Taglit alumni said the trip had made them more likely to marry a Jew and/or raise their children as Jews.

“This programme works and we now have research to substantiate it,” said CEO Gidi Mark. “The only problem now is to find the money.”
Now, 2nd problem; where to get all that money so they can afford to pay for all those FREE trips to Isreal from America in order to carry out their plan. Oh yes, America gives Israel 3 billion per year of tax payer money…………….

And America is in need of money for healthcare, yet it sends 3 billion to Israel. This qualifies for a repeat of the famous line from Forest Gump: “Stupid is, as Stupid does”

REWRITING HISTORY~NAKBA vs WOUNDED KNEE MASSACRE

What is up with America? Are they taking a page from Israel? Check out this article and ”keep reading” for the reveal:

US Government Education Department has recalled all copies of a history textbook because of a passage alleging "Abuse" of American Indians at Wounded Knee, a newspaper reported.

The newspaper said the secondary school textbook was removed from shelves because it sought to present both Native American Indian and American Army Cavalry Soldiers perspectives.

The textbook in question, for 11th and 12th graders, contained both versions of the events side-by-side, but the Department of Education took issue with the Native American’s version. It quoted the passage in question as saying: "The Native American Indians contended that most of those killed and forced to flee were civilians who were attacked and expelled from their homes by the 7th Cavalry US Army, which instituted a policy of ethnic cleansing".

The newspaper said the textbooks would be reissued after "corrections" are made
.from Wiki on the Massacre:
In the Wounded Knee Massacre, on December 29, 1890, 350 troops of the US 7th Cavalry, supported by four Hotchkiss guns, surrounded an encampment of Miniconjou Sioux (Lakota) and Hunkpapa Sioux (Lakota) near Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota.[1] The Army had orders to escort the Sioux to the railroad for transport to Omaha, Nebraska. One day prior, the Sioux had given up their protracted flight from the troops and willingly agreed to turn themselves in at the Pine Ridge Agency in South Dakota.

By the time it was over, about 200 men, women, and children of the Lakota Sioux had been killed. Around 150 Lakota are believed to have fled the chaos, with an unknown number later dying from hypothermia. The massacre is noteworthy as the engagement in which the most Medals of Honor have ever been awarded in the history of the US Army.
People should be outraged that this is now being removed from textbooks!! The re-writing of history by the American Government, this is appalling! Amazing that America would now be attempting to suppress the viewpoint of the Native Americans, given their viewpoint is included in Wiki and readily accepted by the majority of the world’s population as fact. OK, so I lied, it’s not true about America, but it IS true about Israel:

ISRAEL'S Education Ministry has recalled all copies of a history textbook because of a passage alleging "ethnic cleansing" of Palestinians during the 1948 war, a newspaper reported.

Israel's Haaretz newspaper said the secondary school textbook was removed from shelves because it sought to present both Israeli and Arab perspectives on the departure of some 750,000 Palestinians during the fighting that erupted after the creation of the Jewish state

The textbook in question, for 11th and 12th graders, contained both versions of the events side-by-side, but according to Haaretz the ministry took issue with the Palestinian version. It quoted the passage in question as saying: "The Palestinians and the Arab countries contended that most of the refugees were civilians who were attacked and expelled from their homes by armed Jewish forces, which instituted a policy of ethnic cleansing".

Haaretz said the textbooks would be reissued after "corrections" are made
From Wiki on the Nakba:
The 1948 Palestinian exodus (Arabic: الهجرة الفلسطينية‎, al-Hijra al-Filasṭīnīya), also known as al Nakba (Arabic: النكبة‎), meaning the "disaster", "catastrophe", or "cataclysm",[1] occurred when between 650,000 and 750,000 Palestinian Arabs fled or were expelled from their homes by Jewish or Israeli forces, during the creation of the state of Israel and the civil war that preceded it.[2]

Jewish advances, such as that on Haifa, fears of a massacre after Deir Yassin,[5] and a collapse in Palestinian leadership caused many to leave out of panic, while most of those who remained were expelled by Jewish soldiers or, later, the Israeli government. A series of laws passed by the first Israeli government prevented them from returning to their homes, or claiming their property. They and many of their descendants remain refugees.[6] The Deir Yassin massacre took place on April 9, 1948, when around 120 fighters from the Irgun and Lehi Zionist paramilitary groups attacked Deir Yassin near Jerusalem, a Palestinian-Arab village of roughly 600 people.[1 Around 107 villagers, including women and children, were killed. Some were shot, while others died when hand grenades were thrown into their homes.[3] Several were taken prisoner and may have been killed after being paraded through the streets of West Jerusalem, The invasion of Deir Yassin took place after the United Nations proposed on November 29, 1947 (UN Resolution 181) that Palestine should be divided into an Arab state and a Jewish one. Jerusalem was to belong to neither state, but was to be administered separately; Deir Yassin lay within the boundaries of the proposed plan for Jerusalem.
Israel are Evil Liars attempting to re-write history, POINT MADE.

Israel Keeps Hand In Cookie Jar

The Nasty Little Spoilt Brat, just can't seem to withdraw it's stealing hands from the cookie jar that is Palestine. Given that Obama's "grand plan" for the Middle east (and the world) has now swung directly into the laps of the Evil Doers. But alas, Obama will now learn a lesson, never do deals with Israel, they never keep their word.

"Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided"

That was what Obama said in his AIPAC speech during the primaries. You know, the speech where he went grovelling to the Zionists for votes? Yeah, that one.

Well, he wasn't kidding, and you'd think the Zionists would now do their part and keep their promise of a "big reward" to Obama; for giving them something that the rest of the world (and the UN) sees as stolen property, literally! The reward was obviously meant to be their "gracious and selfless" act of offering a "limited freeze" on illegal settlements on stolen land, the ones they don’t really want, the ones that only have tents and shacks. What this really means is that Israel, as usual, expects to be rewarded for giving back something it stole and never really owned. Now there's some logic for you, Israeli style, therefore void of logic. Of course, Israel never intended to freeze anything with regards to the nice big illegal communities of criminals they built on stolen land they want to illegally hang on to in order to expand their ethnic cleansing of Arabs.

The recent “cave in” by Mitchell in London when he met with the head Evil Doer, was not really a "cave in" at all. This is merely all part of the original plan, well, from the US side that is.
Palestinian outrage at Israel plan for settler homes

JERUSALEM — Israel will approve construction of hundreds of new homes in West Bank settlements before weighing a freeze sought by Washington in a move announced on Friday that fuelled Palestinian outrage.

"In the next days the prime minister will approve construction starts and then he might consider a freeze for a limited time under certain conditions," an Israeli government official told AFP.

He confirmed a report in the Jerusalem Post that said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would consider a moratorium on settlement construction "for a few months" after the green light is given to build hundreds of new homes in the occupied West Bank.

The English-language newspaper said work on 2,500 housing units which is already under way also would continue as part of the plan widely seen as an attempt to appease far right-wing members of Netanyahu's hawkish Likud party.

"The only thing suspended by this announcement will be the peace process," Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat told AFP.link
So when the Rockets begin to rain down on thsoe other illegal land grabs which Israel now believes are theirs, who will be to blame? The folks who have had their land stolen for years, the ones who just managed to survive a genocide, the ones who hardly have enough land left for a state, the ones who have millions of refugees all over the world because of Israel, the ones who were democratically elected, but the US and Israel refused to talk to them whilst purporting to be "Democratic"?

US Should Not Tell Jews In Israel Where To Live

In prep for his run in 2012, Christian Zionist and Islamophobic Right Wingnut Neocon Mike Huckabee is visiting Israel. How nice. Meeting with fellow racists and bigots, he must feel quite "at home." A greatful servant, always willing to please his Masters, he does not disappoint "U.S. shouldn't tell Jews where in Israel to live." So, I think we can all deduce from this statement what a Republican Presidency would bring.....War, War, War and more War, all for Israel. How many more American lives will be lost for a foreign Rogue State?
Republican Mike Huckabee, who sought his party's presidential nomination last year but lost to John McCain, said Monday that the U.S. has taken too harsh a stance against Israel on the issue of settlements.

The U.S. should not "be telling Jewish people in Israel where they should and should not live," Huckabee said while visiting Jewish enclaves in East Jerusalem.

The former Arkansas governor, who arrived in Israel Sunday as the guest of several rightist organizations, will be joined at the hotel dinner by over a hundred guests, including prominent Jewish and Republican activists from the United States.

The Obama administration has objected to Israeli plans for construction at the hotel, located in the heart of a Palestinian neighborhood.

Huckabee, considered to be on the right flank of his party and seen as an early front-runner to win the party's presidential nomination in 2012, is openly critical of U.S. President Barack Obama's policy toward Israel, including the demand for a freeze on Jewish construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. linky link

COLLUSION~IDF & Settlers

Seth Freedman at the Guardian is right on the money today:
Israel's state-sponsored injusticeWatching the criminal collusion of settlers and the army in Susiya, it's clear this is a microcosm of an indefensible situation

Within an hour of arriving at the Palestinian hamlet of Susiya, the local settlers decided to make an unwelcome appearance on the farmers' land, shattering the calm of dusk as the sun set over the Judean hills. The intruders drove their sheep all the way to the edge of the Palestinians' encampment, encouraging their animals to gorge themselves on the sparse flora belonging to their neighbours' flocks.

Watching a crime take place is never pleasant for onlookers, but the experience is made infinitely worse when there is no recourse whatsoever to ameliorate the situation. In more tolerant and equitable societies, witnesses can pick up the phone and call the authorities, in the hope and expectation that the police will intervene on behalf of the victim and right the wrong being committed. But when the very security forces meant to deal out justice are standing alongside the criminals and providing armed cover for their actions, the sense of disbelief and disaffection with the status quo is off the scale.

In this case, the two settlers were aided and abetted by a pair of M16-toting Israel Defence Force guards, who stood menacingly in position to keep the distraught Palestinian farmers at bay; the hopeless cries of opposition by the landowners falling on deaf ears, the stony-faced soldiers gazed on impassively and let the settlers brazenly steal the crops from under their noses. Neither the farmers, their families, the NGO workers staying with them nor our group of eight visiting observers could do a thing to prevent the theft – and the micro-story on this remote patch of scrubland embodies the macro situation across the region as a whole.

Before arriving in Susiya, we had spent the morning in Hebron, witnessing the state-sponsored land grab and destruction of thousands of livelihoods to make way for a few hundred fundamentalist settlers whose ultimate goal is ridding the city of all Palestinians to live out some warped interpretation of Torah-based commandments.

Whole streets of Palestinian-owned shops stood deserted; their doors welded shut by the army – in the all-trumping name of "security precautions", of course – and daubed with outsized Stars of David and "Death to the Arabs" graffiti, courtesy of the local settlers. Palestinian homes sported vast metal grilles on their windows, doors and outside stairways to fend off the rocks and other projectiles hurled daily by settler men, women and children alike.

Back in Susiya, the situation is even worse.

After a night's sleep in a tent still sporting the scars of a settler attempt to raze it to the ground, we woke at the crack of dawn to accompany the shepherds into the mist-covered hills to graze their sheep. A pair of early-rising settlers were spurred into action, and they laid into one flock with fists and rocks, screaming at the shepherds to go back to their camp – and, once again, all under the benevolent watch of the soldiers on duty a few metres away.

Two attacks within 12 hours was nothing out of the ordinary for the residents of Susiya but were a major shock to those of our group paying their first visit to the South Hebron hills: ample proof that the settlers and the army collude to make the Palestinians' lives unbearable in an attempt to force them to leave the region for good. As a sergeant who served in the area explained in his testimony to Breaking the Silence, "The practical objective of our brigade was to guard the Jewish settlement in the Hebron Hills. To guard means also to make a ring around them, where other people won't live. They embittered the lives of the people who live there."

For those who see such embitterment up close, the settlers' and soldiers' actions are indefensible. An army of apologists couldn't convince the neutral that such crimes are in any way conscionable

The Shift In Israeli Society~Roadblock to Peace

Here's a good op-ed piece on the latest Israel Democracy Institute poll of Israeli society. Written by Seth Freedman at the guardian excerpts follow:
Well over a million of Israel's population come from the former Soviet Union (FSU), representing more than 15% of the total population – hence the political views of the Russian immigrant community are not easily brushed under the carpet. Their collective stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is credited with sweeping Avigdor Lieberman and his Yisrael Beiteinu party into the upper echelons of power. Lieberman has become the poster boy of the Russian right.

three out of four citizens of Russian extraction support the transfer of Arabs out of Israel, an overwhelming display of hostility towards the original inhabitants of the state in which the Russians arrived a mere 20 years ago.

when viewed in the context of the attitudes of non-Russian Israelis, it becomes clear that while the FSU immigrants' opinions are undoubtedly hardline, the rest of Israel doesn't lag far behind – revealing just how wide the gulf is between mainstream Israeli public opinion and any kind of equitable and just settlement with the Palestinians. Over half of the Israeli Jews polled support the transfer of Arabs out of Israel, while 48% oppose any kind of retreat from settlements (compared with 64% of Russian interviewees). Such figures throw a spanner in the works of peace negotiations, since such ingrained nationalism gives carte blanche to Israeli leaders to take unyielding positions on the conflict if anything short of total acquiescence is offered by the Palestinian side.

In a country where over half of the dominant ethnic group wishes to expel those of a different racial profile, the goalposts have shifted so far as to render standard political groupings almost irrelevant. What would pass as rightwing thinking in western countries is deemed simply middle-of-the-road in Israel; anyone who would occupy the centre ground in more enlightened countries is portrayed as a radical leftist here, sidelined to the point of obscurity and their party's views paid not the slightest heed by the man on the street

it appears insane that a group of straight-off-the-boat immigrants such as the FSU olim should call overwhelmingly for displacing a group of fellow citizens who've been here for generations – but when considered against the raison d'etre of the Jewish state, their position becomes far easier to understand. However, to understand is not to excuse, and the core malaise at the heart of Israeli society is the unswerving belief that Israel has to be forever populated by a Jewish majority, and that only those of the right extraction qualify to stand at the state's helm and chart its course.

It is wholly immoral to demand that any racial group willingly roll over, play dead, and allow themselves to be subjugated by another people – as we Jews know firsthand, and have railed against throughout our history. Yet that is exactly what Israel's leaders assert must happen here and they have massive support from the electorate thanks to their ability to whip up the masses into a decades-old nationalistic frenzy.

Headlines might have focused on the Russian response to the poll, but missing the wood for the trees just perpetuates the underlying erosion taking place throughout Israeli society.

The only solution is for sectarianism to be sidelined and for all people of the region to be dealt with on a level playing field; whether that means one state or two depends on the terms of the settlement, but whatever settlement is reached must treat every concerned party as equal. However, given the dominant thinking on the Israeli street, such pipe dreams are as unlikely to become reality as ever before – Russians or no Russians, Israeli society is dooming itself and its neighbours to a future of conflict while such rank prejudice prevails.

"Regrettable" ....The Other Choices

Hillary Clinton has called the continued ethnic cleansing in Jerusalem "Regrettable." After reading that lack lustre phrase. I wondered, as one would wonder, what other choices were available. So, I dutifully looked up all the synonyms for the word "Regrettable" such as: afflictive, calamitous, deplorable, dire, disappointing, distressing, dreadful, grievous, heartbreaking, ill-advised, lamentable, pitiable, pitiful, sad, shameful, unfavorable, unhappy, woeful; Given these choices, perhaps the words "Dire, Deplorable, Dreadful, Grievous, or Shameful" would have been a much better description of reality
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton condemned on Monday Israel’s expulsion of two Palestinian families from their homes in East Jerusalem, although later and in softer terms than her European counterparts.

“Well, I think these actions are deeply regrettable,” she said, source

Goodbye Palestine

WE NEED more settlements, we have "natural growth"
The Super Duper Uber Lie.........

Well, you gotta hand it to Israel, the Borg have been working on bringing more foreigners to live in Isra-Hell so as to squeeze out the Palestinian native population from their land. Yup, 5,000 more arriving soon to help the evil rogue state steal more land. And a special thanks to America and Canada, cos 3,000 of the 5,000 Zionist cockroaches are coming from your two countries alone. I'm sure you will allow them all to keep dual citizenship as well, so they can continue to work for Israel in Canada and America like good little AIPAC spies for Israel. But here's the best bit, Israel is even willing to set aside its racism and suddenly allow Black People to be Jews and live in Israel:
250 Ethiopians recently recognized as Jews by rabbinical authorities will also immigrate
Just so long as Israel gets to use them to help colonize Palestine. Then of course the rabbinical authorities will make them second class citizens once they are done "using" them to take over Palestine.
After years of decline in immigration, Israel is expected this year to absorb 15 percent more new arrivals than last year, thanks in part to 20 flights arriving this summer carrying 5,000 immigrants from North America, France, Great Britain, South Africa and beyond.

Of these, some 3,000 immigrants will arrive on organized flights run jointly by the Jewish Agency and Nefesh B?Nefesh. Around 2,000 are expected from the United States and Canada.

Around 200 immigrants are expected to arrive from both France and Great Britain respectively, 130 from South Africa, and 100 from countries in Latin America. Some 250 Ethiopians recently recognized as Jews by rabbinical authorities will also immigrate source

Israel Poisons Palestinian Water

Ya know, wouldn't it be grand to wake up one day and not have to read where Zionist Racists murdered a non-Jew, attacked a non-Jew, attempted to kill a non-Jew, stolen land from a non-Jew, perpetuated crimes against humanity on a non-Jew. Until they can learn to become humans perhaps they should all be shot into space, yes, that's it!! And be given their own rocky desert planet, so they can live with only their kind forever and always, which, is of course their dream to expel everyone "not" like them from the middle east. Don't they know there is a word for that? "Racist"
Israeli soldiers poured dirt, stones and toxic chemicals in the only well in the hamlet of Khirbat Makehl near the village of Ya’bad in the northern West Bank overnight on Saturday, according to Palestinians in the community.

The village’s official representative, Walid Hamdan, said soldiers riding in three military jeeps entered the community overnight and sabotaged the well. The chemicals caused the water to change color and taste, he said.

The 80 cubic-meter well is the only source of water for the village of 70 to 80 families, Hamdan said.

He also said that, since the village lies near the Israeli settlement of Hermesh, the armed guards of the settlement often harass and assault Palestinians, particularly herders who venture near the edges of the settlement. Israeli forces also sometimes close the road leading to the community, preventing deliveries of food. source

The "Myth" About Cockroach Settlers

The fallacious assumption created by Israel has now been rooted out and shown to the world. No longer can they use their age old lies for stealing land and filling it with Zionist Cockroach Jihadist Settlers. The jig is up, the game is over, the numbers don’t lie….but Israel does. Behold, the truth about Settlers:
MAALEH ADUMIM, West Bank (AP) - Israelis moving to the West Bank accounted for more than a third of settler population growth in recent years, undercutting Israel's argument that it is continuing settlement construction only to accommodate growing families already living there

The Israelis are playing a game of deception by what they call natural growth

Data from Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics supports that argument, showing that in 2007, 36 percent of all new settlers had moved from Israel or abroad.

Amid the influx of people drawn to cheaper housing in settlements, construction has continued _ more than 5,500 new apartments have been completed over the past three years in the West Bank, bureau figures show.

Settlements are a major obstacle to peacemaking because Israel has used them to extend its de facto boundaries into the West Bank and to cement its claim on east Jerusalem. The Palestinians claim both territories, captured by Israel in 1967, for a future state, along with the Gaza Strip, and want the Jewish construction there to stop.

Under the 2003 U.S.-backed road map peace plan, Israel promised to halt all settlement construction, including for natural growth. But the building has gone on.

Jerusalem-born Yaffa Shkibai, who has lived in Maaleh Adumim for 26 of her 50 years, has bought apartments for each of her four children here.«They should continue building and not be afraid of the U.S.,» she said. «If we bend, they'll kick us out of here.
(Ok that's it, I've tried to hold my tongue, but I feel a rant coming on, yup, here it comes, can't control myself. Settlers are so intelligent, aren't' they? Yes, you stupid Neanderthal woman, you are actually stating the obvious, that IS the plan you greedy asshat cockroach living on stolen land. There, now I feel much better)
The United States is among those monitoring settlement activity. The U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem said its officials regularly visit settlements and take photographs. A foreman at one construction project in Maaleh Adumim said Monday that U.S. officials had been there recently, walking around and taking pictures.
(Good!! Document the ethnic cleansing and crimes of the criminals. Thanks be to God it's a US official, otherwise they'd shoot and kill him like they do everyone else)
Netanyahu pointedly dropped the politically charged «natural growth» phrase for «normal lives. But the linguistic slight of hand doesn't mask the fact that migration _ and not just the growth of families _ is a major factor in settler population growth.
(Major Hasbara Alert!!! The new catch phrase is "Normal Lives" as if anything about this cockroach infestation is even "remotely" normal)
Migration from Israel and abroad accounted for 5,300 of the 14,500 new settlers in 2007, the last year for which bureau data are available.

And 2007 wasn't a random blip. Migration accounted for between a third and half of the population growth in each year between 1999 and 2007, save 2005, when numbers were skewed by Israel's withdrawal of 8,500 settlers from the Gaza Strip.

Nearly 300,000 Israelis currently live in the West Bank and 180,000 in east Jerusalem, whose annexation by Israel in 1967 is not internationally recognized. That's more than double from 116,300 at the end of 1993, the year Israel and the Palestinians signed their landmark accord.
( I hope Israel has some serious big moving companies the Government can employ to move these 480,000 cockroaches off another country's land. If not, then may I suggest calling in the bug exterminators to spray them out with Roach Killer. Probably cheaper than moving vans anyway and NO nasty left overs)
Between 2006 and 2008 _ roughly the tenure of the previous government _ Israel completed building 5,503 apartments in the West Bank and began building 5,125, the statistics bureau said.

Maaleh Adumim, home to more than 35,000 settlers, continues to be one of the biggest magnets for "Cockroaches" migrants. At the settlement's northeastern edge, overlooking the Judean desert, rumbling front-end loaders were busy scooping up mounds of dirt and stones at a new neighborhood that has been going up for the past 2½ years. Bricks, steel rods and coils of rubber tubing were piled up outside the unfinished homes.

"I think Bibi said it right," Navon said, referring to Netanyahu by his nickname. «Natural growth has to continue. source
I say Don't let the doorknob hit ya in the arse on your way out the door of the illegal home you are squatting in. These "people" (Using the term loosely as there are no human traits in them what so ever) they all deserve a slow and painful eviction. No pity for Neanderthal Racists. I hope CNN has massive live coverage when they are all removed kicking and screaming, or should I say moaning, groaning and grunting like Neanderthals do.

Quick Get Rid of the Evidence

Zionist Terrorist Jihadists ratchet up sales of properties belonging to Palestinians who fled in 1948 in order to wipe Palestinians off the face of Jerusalem, e.g. Ethnically cleanse them away. This is the Zionist Entity's attempt to steal more of Jerusalem before they are forced to make peace and stop their illegal racist behaviour. Nice try Zionist Entity, but they won't forget and neither will the world.
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM: Israel has stepped up sales of the properties of Palestinians who in 1948 fled or were driven out of what is now Israel, a human rights group said on Monday, adding that the move went against both Israeli and international law. "Selling these properties constitutes the final expropriation of the right to property of Palestinian refugees, despite the special legal, historical and political status of these properties," the Adalah legal center said.

The Israel (Zionist Jihadist) Lands Administration has carried out 80 such auctions so far in 2009, 106 in 2008 and 96 in 2007, the rights group added.

The sale of the Palestinian properties is illegal under Israeli law, the group said, as the ownership of the properties was transferred to the Custodian of Absentee Properties until a political solution is reached to the refugee issue.

"The sale of Palestinian refugee properties [also] contradicts international humanitarian law, which stipulates the need to respect the right of private property and explicitly prohibits the final expropriation of private property following the termination of warfare," it added in a statement.

Adalah sent a letter to various Israeli authorities last month demanding the cancellation of the invitations to bid on the properties.

The Israeli human rights group also plans to appeal to the Israeli supreme court over the issue.

Some 760,000 Palestinians either fled or were driven out of their homes when the state of Israel was created in 1948 and today the refugees and their descendants number some 4.6 million people scattered across the Middle East and around the world. - AFP

Israeli Plan to Remove ALL Palestinians from Jerusalem by 2020

As reported from the Hamas Governments Information Office website:

Agencies - Sheikh Ra'ed Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, has warned that the Zionist occupation authority was planning to demolish 70% of Palestinian homes in occupied Jerusalem.

He said in a report published on Wednesday by the Khalij newspaper that the ZOA has set the date of 2020 as the final date for evacuating all Palestinians from the Old City of Jerusalem and then to get rid of all Palestinians from all areas of Jerusalem by the year 2050.

The Sheikh warned that the ZOA was even accelerating the scheme to judaize Jerusalem, hoping to complete it by ten months rather than ten years. source

OUTTA THE WAY~Ethnic Cleansing in Progress

Step aside, move along now, nothing to see here, all the Palestinians are gone now, ethnic cleansing complete, all Jews, all the time now. And Israel claims to be a democracy? ROTFLMAO in what universe one wonders.........But you gotta hand it to Israel in the use of "Israeli Double Speak" no need to explain as you'll see it used to it's perfection below:

Mayor for the Israeli-run Jerusalem municipality hopes to make “Jerusalem the greenest city in Israel,” largely at the expenses of Palestinian residents.

Jerusalem municipal Mayor Nir Barkat revealed his “master plan” for the city on Monday, which includes the ominous pledge for the “Development of eastern Jerusalem,” where most of the Palestinian population lives.

Also of concern to Palestinian residents is his intention to create five new metropolitan parks, particularly given the current demolition orders on nearly 100 Palestinian homes in the Silwan neighborhood of the city to make way for the construction of green space.

Equally distressing is the issue of Israeli “Conservation and preservation of historic buildings,” since this often means the judization of Islamic or ancient historic sites.

In his explanation of “Developing Eastern Jerusalem,” Barakat said “An additional 13,550 housing units will be made available for construction for the residents of eastern Jerusalem,” which means the expansion of illegal East Jerusalem Israeli settlements. These settlements will be constructed on the land Palestinians will establish their capital city on under the Road Map and Arab Peace Initiative.

The mayor said he intended to build most of the new housing in the Palestinian A-Tur neighborhood (1,500 units), the Palestinian Beit Hanina- Shuafat neighborhoods (2,500 units), Tel Adesa (2,000 units), Jabel Mukabar (2,500 units), and the eastern Jerusalem city center (750 units). These areas house the highest number of Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem.

Barakat outlined his plans for the revitalization of tourism in Jerusalem, saying efforts would be concentrated on the Old City, again an area of high-concentration Palestinian homes.

According to reports, “The plan affixes the borders of the historical city to include the neighborhoods and buildings built until 1948,” which will annex even more Palestinian land. source
NOTE: the Israeli Mayor was asked for comments regarding the worldwide condemnation of the Ethnic Cleansing in Jerusalem,
THIS is his reply:

Only Jews Allowed

The new sign at Al-Quds will read "All Jews-All the Time" as they are demolishing 90 more Palestinain homes, to create an "All Jew Zone"

Israel to Judaize more of al-Quds

Israel is to demolish some 90 houses in mainly Arab east al-Quds in a move that will deprive more than 1,500 Palestinians of their homes.

Israel in February had ordered hundreds of Palestinians living in eastern al-Quds to evacuate their houses, claiming they had pursued "illegal construction".

The decision drew Palestinian ire. Scores of people in the West Bank later took part in a general strike, protesting Israel's decision to demolish the houses in the village of Silwan near al-Quds (Jerusalem) to empty space for a national park.

According to Hatem Abdul Qader, who handles the affairs for the Palestinian Authority in al-Quds, the 'discriminatory plan' has gathered considerable momentum since the appointment of new al-Quds (Jerusalem) mayor, Nir Barkat.

Palestinian officials say that if the demolitions go ahead, it would mark the largest destruction of Palestinian property in eastern al-Quds since 1967.

This is while the Czech presidency of the European Union in a statement reminded Tel Aviv of its obligations under international law.

"Demolition of houses in this sensitive area threatens the viability of a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement, in conformity with international law," reads the statement issued on behalf of the bloc's 27 member states.

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband has also expressed concern over the plans to demolish scores of Palestinian houses in mainly Arab east al-Quds.

"We view with real concern the proposed demolitions in east Jerusalem. Jerusalem should be the capital of both the Palestinians and Israel," Miliband said in Jordan on Thursday.

Israel captured the mostly Arab east al-Quds in 1967 and later annexed the part in a move not recognized by the international community.

Tel Aviv continues to erect new homes in the occupied Palestinian territory despite strong opposition from the international community.

Some Muslim states and also Palestinians insist that there will be no peace in the Middle East until Israel quits eastern al-Quds and allows it to become the capital of an independent Palestinian state.
