Israel is well pissed off at the European Commission for telling the truth about Settlements and plans to give them a good spanking for this act of "defiance" and "Evil Truth Telling." The Commission reported the fact that illegal settlements make it virtually impossible for peace in the region. Their existence causes devastating effects on the Palestinian Economy, which in turn effects Palestinian residents. Best of all it was pointed out that it is the European Union that foots the bill for this, to the tune of 280 Million, no less! Israel's reaction to this statement is much the same as their reaction to the UN's War Crimes Investigations, Amnesty International's Investigations and all the others who find fault with the evil rogue state.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry will seek a meeting with the representative of the European Commission over what the Israeli press called an “unusually harsh statement” on Israel’s settlement policy.

The statement, released Monday, said Israel’s settlement policy in the West Bank was strangling the Palestinian economy and forcing residents into aid dependency.

"[I]t is the European taxpayers who pay most of the price of this dependence," the commission said, including 280 million US dollars so far this year, because settlements prevent the PA from functioning normally. source

Well, this just keeps getting more deadly. I’m talking about the Israel-USA-British pact to re-make the Middle East. This just out today; Israel may use Cyber War Fare to attack Iran’s nuclear facility.

This opens up a whole big area of potentially "Whoop-Ass" warfare worry, as the “Un-Holy Group of Three” have the capability to create utter mayhem in the Middle East for centuries to come. If they choose this path, Al Qaeda will become child’s play in contrast to what they will create by continuing to meddle in the affairs of other countries they don’t like. All these groups have already been involved in an attempt to overthrow Iran’s recent elections, I wrote about that here and here where the Obama Plan is to soften the American public up for an attack on Iran.

Back to the Cyber War Fare plan: For instance,using Cyber War Fare they could create a fake missile launch, and then blame Iran to justify an all out Israeli-American attack on Iran. Or they could create some nuclear disaster at Iran’s facility, killing many Iranians. Something like Chernobyl perhaps. Another worrying thing is that not only are US sources being quoted in this article, also British sources from the Janes Publishing Group, AKA MI5, and more here. The appeal of cyber attacks was boosted, Israeli sources say, by the limited feasibility of conventional air strikes on the distant and fortified Iranian atomic facilities, and by U.S. reluctance to countenance another open war in the Middle East.

"We came to the conclusion that, for our purposes, a key Iranian vulnerability is in its on-line information," said one recently retired Israeli security cabinet member, using a generic term for digital networks. "We have acted accordingly."
Cyberwarfare teams nestle deep within Israel's spy agencies, which have rich experience in traditional sabotage techniques and are cloaked in official secrecy and censorship.

They can draw on the know-how of Israeli commercial firms that are among the world's hi-tech leaders and whose staff are often veterans of elite military intelligence computer units.

"To judge by my interaction with Israeli experts in various international forums, Israel can definitely be assumed to have advanced cyber-attack capabilities," said Scott Borg, director of the U.S. Cyber Consequences Unit, which advises various Washington agencies on cyber security.

Technolytics Institute, an American consultancy, last year rated Israel the sixth-biggest "cyber warfare threat," after China, Russia, Iran, France and "extremist/terrorist groups."

The United States is in the process of setting up a "Cyber Command" to oversee Pentagon operations

Asked to speculate about how Israel might target Iran, Borg said malware -- a commonly used abbreviation for "malicious software" -- could be inserted to corrupt, commandeer or crash the controls of sensitive sites like uranium enrichment plants.

Such attacks could be immediate, he said. Or they might be latent, with the malware loitering unseen and awaiting an external trigger, or pre-set to strike automatically when the infected facility reaches a more critical level of activity.

"Cyberwar has the advantage of being clandestine and deniable,"

"But its effectiveness is hard to gauge, because the targeted network can often conceal the extent of damage or even fake the symptoms of damage. Military strikes, by contrast, have an instantly quantifiable physical effect."
Israel may be open to a more overt strain of cyberwarfare.

Tony Skinner of Jane's Defense Weekly cited Israeli sources as saying that Israel's 2007 bombing of an alleged atomic reactor in Syria was preceded by a cyber attack which neutralized ground radars and anti-aircraft batteries.

"State of War," a 2006 book by New York Times reporter James Risen, recounted a short-lived plan by the CIA and its Israeli counterpart Mossad to fry the power lines of an Iranian nuclear facility using a smuggled electromagnetic-pulse (EMP) device.

Israel Foils Potential Terrorist Plot

Thanks to Israel’s very quick thinking, a plot to annihilate Israel via the Erez border crossing was averted. The threat in question, was a 5 month old Palestinian baby, who was accompanying the mother and 5 year old sister who were traveling to Israel for medical treatment. As the IDF policy is to consider all Palestinian children as potential terrorists, the threat from the tiny but possibly dangerous 5 month old was deemed to be far too dangerous for the Israeli officials to allow the baby to pass through into Israel alongside the Mother and sister. An IDF spokesman stated that it's not about size, it's about the danger of the tiny baby's ability to spew deadly baby spit-up onto Israelis. A threat Israel was just not willing to risk.

Israel refuses to let 5-month old baby from Gaza leave the Strip with his mother and sister

Israeli forces at the Erez crossing stopped a 5-month old baby from crossing into Israel. His mother and five-year old sister both had a permission to leave the Strip, so the 5-year old girl could receive medical treatment in Israel.

As Israeli troops refused the infant to enter Israel, the mother and both her children were forced to turn back home without receiving medical treatment and might be unable to receive another permission to enter Israel.The five-year old girl needed medical help in Israel, as doctors in Gaza were unable to diagnose why the girl has been suffering from chronic fevers.The mother decided to take her baby with her, because she didn’t know how long the treatment would take, assuming that a five-month old infant didn’t constitute any threat for the state of Israel.The permits the mother and her daughter received were only valid on Tuesday and they had a hospital appointment for Tuesday afternoon in the Al-Maqased hospital in Jerusalem

Now, later today we seem to have the confirmation that backs up Biden's remarks, directly from Mossad and the "why" is explained. The "why" is a deal done between Obama on settlements and the Israeli-Palestine conflict in a direct trade for allowing Israel to go forward with it's attack on Iran.

Israel strike threat on Iran back on table

JERUSALEM // A flurry of media reports in Israel and elsewhere, as well as comments by US officials, past and present, have suddenly put the possibility of an Israeli military strike on Iran firmly back on the agenda.

Certainly, the turmoil in Iran after elections that saw the incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad returned under controversial circumstances, has contributed to a firming of the tone by US officials on Iran. This was most notable in an interview Joe Biden, the US vice president, gave ABC News in which he said Israel, as a sovereign nation, would decide for itself how to deal with Iran.

“One explanation [for Mr Biden’s remarks] is that a deal was done between the US and Israel,” said Yossi Alpher, an Israeli analyst and a former Iran specialist with Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence service. “On the same day that Biden made his remarks, Netanyahu opened his cabinet meeting by saying that in the first 100 days of his government, an Israeli consensus had been reached on the two-state solution.”

Mr Alpher said Mr Netanyahu felt that Israel needed to make concessions on the Palestinian issue to secure US support for his government’s position on Iran “if and when” Israel needs to strike Iran.

“It certainly looked like a deal had been done,” he said.

Foreign minister meets with German counterpart, says the two still divided on issue of settlements

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman met with his German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in Jerusalem on Monday.

During a joint press conference held by the two Lieberman told Ynet that the Palestinians refuse to begin negotiations with Israel without preconditions.

"All the rest provides them with excuses, because the Palestinians don't want to hold real, constructive negotiations," he said. link

Funding The REAL Terrorists

Fatah has made no serious attempts at unifying with Hamas, and why should they, if they did the Israeli/US support and funding would have to be shared.

Israel's defense minister has decided to allow the transfer of some 1,000 Kalashnikov rifles from abroad to the Palestinian Authority, according to news reports.

The report, which was published in the Jerusalem Post on Monday, comes just hours before a meeting between Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak and US envoy for the Middle East George Mitchell, who supports a strong PA.

The delivery of the automatic weapons was approved weeks ago, the newspaper reported, but was held up for what Israel's military called customary ballistic tests.

Earlier this year, Russia donated 50 BTR-70 armored vehicles to the PA that have also been held up, this time by Jordan, for security checks, according to the newspaper.

The Western-backed PA has of late come into escalating violence with militants associated with its rival Hamas in the West Bank, and has in recent months seized arms, explosives and millions of dollars in cash from Hamas, an official said on Sunday.

The official, security forces spokesperson Adnan Ad-Damiry, told Ma'an that its West Bank officers discovered "large amounts of explosives and bombs in the districts of Nablus, Hebron and Qalqiliya."

He also alleged that Hamas intended to use the weapons "heinously" against PA forces. link

That last line makes me laugh mi arse off TBH. Fatah is being funded and armed by the superpowers, and these asshats in Fatah want to say something about Hamas using bombs? It's all they can get their hands on to fight back with against the Israeli Agents of FATAH and the Zionist Occupying Force in their country. How absurd! HAmas is a democratically elected government that Israel and the US choose to ignore and treat as "terrorists" when they fight back against the siege and constant Israeli excursions into their country. Salama: We will not wear orange uniform Al Qassam website - The leader in Al Qassam Brigades and the prisoner in the Zionist jails, Hassan Salama said that Hamas prisoners will not wear the orange uniform which the Zionist prison service tries to impose on the prisoners even if they pay their lives for this.

Salama, who is sentenced to 48 years, said that the prisoners of his movement may be exterminated at all in the darkness of the Zionist cells, but they will not put this uniform on their bodies.

He added:”Hamas as all the liberation movements around the world wage the same battle against occupation and arrogance powers which try to entitle the resistance with terrorism. Hamas will foil this imperialistic scheme through the steadfastness of her prisoners.

Haaretz reports on this as well and notes the many connotations associated with this "new" degrading uniform. Which, is clearly a psychological attack on Palestinian Resistance Prisoners to demoralise them

Around a year ago, the Israel Prison Service issued new, orange uniforms to inmates to replace the old brown uniforms. An article in Yedioth Ahronoth last July quoted the Prison Service as saying that inmates who were issued the new uniforms, which are trimmed with reflective stripes, took them happily, as their color "is much cheerier than the gloomy brown uniforms."

Really? Attorney Majd Bader of the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel says all the inmates he has met at Israel's security prisons vehemently object to the new uniforms and refuse to wear them.

"It raises very negative associations with Guantanamo," Bader said. "There was a sense that this was an attempt to link them with Al-Qaida or attach that label. Another thing is that orange uniforms are the uniforms of death row inmates in Western countries.

Inmates who refuse to wear the new uniforms are being denied visitors and other privileges. harretz

All of this reminds me of something closer to home, once again we see analogies between two peoples struggling for their freedom and independence from a colonizing oppressor. I remember an Irish Resistance song about this very thing, called the H-Block Song. One of the five demands was not to wear a criminals Uniform. On 14 September 1976, newly convicted prisoner Kieran Nugent began the blanket protest, in which IRA and Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) prisoners refused to wear prison uniform and either went naked or fashioned garments from prison blankets.

One young man on that protest was Raymond McCartney (Born 1954 in Derry, North of Ireland) is a Sinn Féin politician, and a former hunger striker and volunteer within the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) pictured in the famous mural at the top of this post.


Following his release from prison Raymond became involved in community politics and Sinn Féin structures. Raymond was co-opted onto the Assembly team following the retirement of Mary Nelis and was a founding member of Coiste Na n-Iarchimí, the group set up to look after the interests of former political prisoners. Raymond also represents Sinn Féin on the policing and justice issue in the Programme for Government Committee and is the party spokesperson on Regional Development and is on the Long Kesh monitoring group which is overseeing the redeveloping of the former Kesh Prison site. The same site where he was on the Blanket protest and hungerstrike!

Perhaps one day, one of those Palestinian Prisoners will survive the Israeli terrorists and rise to represent their people as well. So, In solidarity to the Prisoners, I offer the H-Block Song, lyrics below, changed to reflect the Palestinian cause:

Israel, England and the US all had parts to play. Israel's job was to keep up the mantra of attacking Iran, so as to scare monger the Iranian population. Israel played the part of "attack dog" Whilst Britain played the part of insider agitator and intelligence gatherers and Obama played the part of being "above the Fray" A part he perfected when running for President during the primaries. It was never Obama on the attack only his supporters, followers and surrogates, whilst enabling Obama to keep his hands clean. It was always his surrogates. Biden says Israel has the right to attack Iran

The U.S. wouldn't interfere with a sovereign nation's actions, he says, even as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff says such an attack would be destabilizing.

Biden's remarks suggested a tougher U.S. stance against Iran's nuclear ambitions, but administration officials denied that. Instead, White House officials said, his televised remarks Sunday simply reflected the U.S. view that Israel had a right to defend itself and make its own decisions on national security.

So does that right to defend one,s country also extend to every other country in the world? What about Palestine? I digress...So, Shall we compare today's comments from Biden (Obama's Sock Puppet) to this report from April 2009, a mere 2 months ago. but.... (Before the Iranian Elections mind you):

APRIL 2009 As Israel and the US continue on a collision course over Iran, Tel Aviv says it hopes to put an end to Iran's nuclear activities with a "heroic operation".

Ever since President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and President Barack Obama signalled willingness for direct talks between the United States and Iran in an effort to end thirty years of diplomatic hostility, Tel Aviv and Washington have edged toward having a falling-out.

According to the report, the Obama White House is mulling over whether to impose sanctions on Tel Aviv should Israel go ahead with a unilateral attack on Iran.

Wowzer, so America feels so strongly in April 2009 about not allowing Isra-Hell to make a unilateral strike on Iran that the US would EVEN consider "sanctions" against Tel Aviv? Yeah, right LOL. The reality is that Obama is running his foreign policy just like he ran his presidential campaign. He's remaining "above" the fray, as always, appearing "God-Like" Whilst all the while his "POSSE" works behind the scenes doing all the things Obama could not get away with overtly. AS that would only spoil the image he has created of himself. No, the deal is Obama has to keep this appearance of being the "Great Hope" of the world. It's all smoke and mirrors, but mostly mirrors. Like the mirror Obama stands in front of every day, telling himself no one is the wiser...........

The sad fact is that in the build up to the Iranian elections the Obama Administration was all about "talking to Iran's Ahmadinejad" all about improving US image, all about "making ties." When in fact, the US had another plan all along. Use Israel to keep the scare tactics up on a possible Iran attack by Israel, and at the same time Obama extends the hand of friendship. Then come the elections, now we will see if the US/Israel/Britain plan will work or not.

Prior to the election funds and covert support were funnelled into Iran's Progressive movement by the US; and Britain assisted with media support using Britain's newly created BBC Persian Channel inside Iran. Iran knows how Britain works perfectly, so do the people of Ireland.

Iran accused Britain of instigating protests, arrested some of its embassy workers and expelled a British Broadcasting Corporation correspondent.

Rosemary Hollis, who teaches Middle East politics at City University London, says Iranian rhetoric about Britain is rooted in a long-held perception that while the United States might be more powerful, Britain is more devious. "The perception is, and you get this across the Middle East, that the Americans are at least straightforward, even if you resent what they're doing. They pretty much come in the front door. But the British pop in the window and nip out the back door," she said.

Britain has a long history of deep involvement in not only Iran, but across the Middle East during the past 200 years. The 1979 Iranian Revolution focused on the United States because of its long-time support of Iran's Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlevi. But Hollis says Iranian conspiracy theories have always seen Britain as the key supporting player, or even as the grand covert manipulator.

"I think it's only been since the Iranian Revolution that the United States has been the 'Great Satan.'

Analysts say that Iran was particularly incensed about the new British Broadcasting Corporation's Persian language TV station that was started early this year.

Alex Vatanka, a senior Middle East analyst for the Britain-based Jane's Publishing Group, says that compounded official anger about Western broadcasts to Iran when it was already the target of broadcasts by Voice of America's own Persian News Network link

Did ya get that last sentence there? Alex Vatanka has been involved in Iranian affairs since before the Iranian elections. Here's a wee snippet from June 12th regarding a missile test in Iran (taken from an Intelligence site no less) :

" the announcement that there was a deadline by the U.S. may have been received in Tehran as a slap in the face," said Alex Vatanka, a senior Middle East analyst at Janes information Group, particularly coming after Iran's release last week of a American journalist who was jailed for spying.

He called the launch a gift to Ahmadinejad from military hard-liners who hoped that it would demonstrate the country's strength and help boost the President's poll numbers before the June 12th election.

Well, so what? They are merely countering all the covert meddling by US and British intelligence people and groups, like Alex Vatanka and the Intelligence Gathering group he works for (Jane's Publishing Group) a covert intelligence military group, who say this:

And people wonder why Iran is pissed off?

The social media networks were part and parcel of this plan as well, they were to be used the same way Obama's people used them during his campaign. Social media like YouTube, twitter and Facebook to push the mentra of "revolution". And rile up the American public to soften them up for Obama's REAL plan of allowing Israel to attack Iran. Because as we all learned during Obama's run for POTUS, whatever the influential blogs are talking about, soon you see the same thing being covered at MSNBC and CNN and the slew of newspaper outlets who support Obama will soon follow suit with the same coverage as well. All to amplify the effect of "revolution" and to demonize the Iranian election. Soon the American public will be begging Obama to "act" with their permission,that's the plan Obama is smarter than Bush was; Obama knows he must have huge American support to attack another country after what Bush did. So Obama will create the "facts on the ground" that will then get the Great American Public on his side. Yes, soon the American public will be softened up enough to look the other way whilst Israel attacks Iran and destabilises the entire Middle East. Yippee!

Britain used it's BBC Persian news channel to fan the flames of unrest, to question, to place doubt and to spread the mantra of corruption and that the majority of people were against Ahmadinejad. Which is probably not true in the least as he had massive support from the non-academics and less educated Iranians, who, do outnumber the reformists. This is why many of the British reporters have been expelled as well as their embassy staff, which assisted and participated in protests.

One thing that cannot be reconciled in this plan, is if Obama was willing to talk to Ahmadinejad "without preconditions" as he stated all throughout Obama's primary debates with Hillary Clinton (remember one of the first debates where he said this?) And now that Obama was elected he has also continued to say this as well, until the election failure, that is. So, why would he be willing to talk to Ahmadinejad in 2008 when he was running for POTUS when Ahmadinejad was doing all sorts of things that were troubling to America, yet now all that has happened is that Ahmadinejad was re-elected, and suddenly Obama won't talk to him. That's the "tell"

And don't forget Israel can't attack without help from America, just look at this map if you doubt that. Israel will need to fly into Iraq for re-fuelling or at the very least fly over Iraqi arispace, and just who controls that? Why it's the US of A.

A spokesperson for the United Kingom's foreign secretary has raised the issue of an aid ship seized by Israel's navy with the country's government, according to British news reports.

"We can confirm that six British nationals were detained by the Israeli authorities. We have visited them and we are providing consular assistance to them," a spokesperson for UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband said on Saturday, according to Sky News.

"We would be concerned if the stories of the Israeli navy boarding the Spirit of Humanity in international waters were true," she added, but said that the legal status of Gaza's coast is complex.

Nevertheless, the said the country's Foreign Ministry was looking into claims that the takeover by Israel's navy of the ship and her 21-member crew on Tuesday violated international law, according to Sky.

Meanwhile, several of the six British nationals being held by Israel told the news agency that they were being held in "atrocious conditions" at the prison, where they are awaiting deportation apparently for entering Israeli waters, which they have categorically denied.

Ishmahil Blagrove, 40, said, "I'm in a cell with 14 of us. The cell is about seven by four. There were just two fans that only covered half of the cell when we got here." "We all screamed and shouted so they gave us a third. It's really hot in here. Everyone is complaining."

The British nationals, who said they had no idea when they would ultimately be released, reportedly spoke to Sky News via mobile phones provided by UK consular officers who visited their cells, which are inside Israel's Ramla Givon high security prison in Tel Aviv. source

Freed Bahraini activists last night revealed their agony in Israeli captivity after a failed mercy mission to Gaza.

The activists, who were speaking at a Press conference, arrived in Bahrain early yesterday after a high-level intervention by Bahrain's leadership.

They were among 21 people aboard the Spirit of Humanity, which was intercepted by the Israeli Navy on its way to deliver aid to Gaza on Tuesday.

Most other members of the group, including US Representative Cynthia McKinney and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Corrigan Maguire, remained in Israeli custody yesterday.

The activists - Khaled Abdelkader, Khaled Al Shenoo, Kathoum Ghuloom, Fatima Al Attawi and Juhaina Alqaed - said they were held at the Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv.

Israeli forces informed them they would be deported via Egypt, then said via Jordan and then changed their mind saying via Turkey, they said.

Finally, they were led, handcuffed, to a private plane where they were received by a Foreign Ministry delegation, the activists said.

An official Bahrain delegation had travelled to Israel overnight on an unprecedented trip to bring back the activists.

The activists said Israeli navy boats had rammed their mercy ship.

This is a recorded live interview from Mairead Maguire of the FREE GAZA MOVEMENT who was aboard the "Spirit of Humanity" boat headed to deliver aid to Gaza. The boat was terrorised and threatened by Israeli Terrorist Pirates, who disabled the boat and boarded it with weapons, then kidnapped all the crew and passengers. This interview was by phone from Ireland this morning from inside her Israeli Jail cell where she has been imprisoned by Israeli terrorist pirates.



We were threatened by the Israeli navy when we were in |international waters and during the night they told us they would shoot if we didnt turn back to Cyprus, she said.

They cut off all our satellite communications and our lives were very much in danger,| because we could have strayed into Israeli waters.

We sailed on and they kept threatening that they would shoot if we didnt turn back.

In the early hours of Tuesday navy boats pulled up to Maireads ship and special forces troops began to board it.

They were fully armed and wore balaclavas, she said.

They took all our equipment off us and handcuffed several people. They took me into a separate place and forcibly took our ship to Israel.

The 21 passengers and crew were taken to a detention centre before being moved to prison in Ramala.

I was taken handcuffed in a military vehicle and Im here in the prison in the clothes I arrived in, said Ms Maguire.

At the moment there are |19 of us still being held here after two Palestinian women were released.

They have said we are going to be deported, but deportation orders arent appropriate for us, as we were taken to Israel against our will. We want to leave Israel, but with our friends and all the belongings that were taken from us.

The contested Gaza territory is currently under blockade from Israel with only limited supplies being allowed in to Palestinians living there.

Physically I am very well, but I think more of the Palestinians who are denied the ability to cross the border and see their loved ones, said Ms Maguire.

It gives us a reflection of how tough it is for the Palestinian people and the way that they are treated.

It is a complete blockade of Gaza and collective punishment of 1.5m people which breaks the Geneva Convention. We have |to highlight how desperate |that is.

Irish Government Demands Release of Activists~Condemn Israeli Actions

Two Irish citizens remain in Israeli custody after a small boat carrying aid for Gaza was seized 24 miles from shore.

Minister for Justice Micheal Martin yesterday called for the immediate release of the two.

Nobel laurest Mairead Maguire (65) and former Irish soldier Derek Graham (40) sailed on a ferry from Cyprus in a bid to break the blockade on the Gaza Strip with a consignment of aid.

The pair were stopped 24 miles from shore and are waiting to be deported. Mr Martin said officials in the Department of Foreign Affairs have been in contact with Israeli authorities through the embassy in Dublin and the Irish Ambassador in Tel Aviv to secure their release.

Consular staff based in Tel Aviv visited Ms Maguire and Mr Graham yesterday after they were brought ashore on board the Greek-flagged The Spirit of Humanity .
Mr Martin said his immediate priority was ensuring their safety and welfare.
I would again renew my call for the release of Ms Maguire and Mr Graham as well as the other nineteen passengers detained, he said.

I would also call upon the Israeli Government to ensure that the humanitarian supplies for the people of Gaza being transported on The Spirit of Humanity are made available as soon as possible to the Palestinian authorities for distribution.Mr Martin repeated calls for border crossings and trade links to be reopened. They were effectively shut down by Israeli authorities after the military offensive in Gaza in December and January.

I do not need to recall my strong views on the completely unacceptable nature of the blockade now being imposed on the people of Gaza, he said.

All border crossings into Gaza should be opened immediately to humanitarian and normal commercial traffic so that the dire humanitarian situation can be adequately addressed and the reconstruction of Gaza begin.

This is the only effective remedy which we should seek to offer to the long-suffering people of Gaza.

Israel mulling easing Gaza embargo

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel's Defense Ministry has recommended a partial lifting of the embargo on Gaza as a goodwill gesture toward the Palestinians to spur along talks to free a long-held captive soldier, an Israeli news site reported Friday.

Israel has been linking the opening of Gaza's borders to the release of Sgt. Gilad Schalit, an Israeli soldier held by Hamas militants for three years. Hamas has been pushing for a deal to trade him for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

According to the new plan reported by the Israeli news Web site YNet, Israel would increased supplies of coffee, tea, soups, meat, fish and canned goods into Gaza ahead of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan, which begins in August, to promote a deal for Schalit.

Israel would also renew shipments of fuel, clothing, kitchenware and egg-laying chickens as part of the package.

YNet reported that the proposal had been drafted by defense officials and awaits the approval of Defense Minister Ehud Barak.

Ireland to Israel~ "Release Our People Now"

I have two reports this morning on the Free Gaza Activists who were attacked by Jewish Jihadist Pirates, kidnapped and imprisoned. The first report covers the Bahraini and Palestinian activists, who mostly have already been deported, or are in the process of being deported. The others are still being held by the Pirate kidnappers in a squalid prison cell. Second article covers the Irish activists and what the Irish government has to say about the Pirates and kidnapping. Special Note: I am working on getting posted a phone interview given by kidnapped Nobel Peace Prize activist Mairead Maguire from her prison cell this morning. Five Bahraini citizens participating in the Free Gaza Movement’s voyage to Gaza were deported on Friday, following their Tuesday afternoon seizure by Israeli forces in international waters off the Gaza coast.

Coordinator of the Palestinian International Campaign to lift the siege Amjad Ash-Shawa confirmed that one of the Bahraini nationals is a reporter for the Al-Jazeera network. All five are expected to be escorted to Ben Gurion International Airport where other Al-Jazeera journalists will be awaiting their arrival.

Two Palestinian activists and organizers with the Free Gaza Movement were released Thursday, and reported being held in unsanitary warehouse-quarters and were questioned by Israeli intelligence.

A report from the New York Times said the Bahrainis were kept in a separate facility from other imprisoned solidarity activists like former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney and Irish peace activist and Nobel laureate, Mairead Corrigan Maguire.

The Free Gaza Movement’s ship, the Spirit of Humanity, was overtaken by eight Israeli naval warships in international waters on 30 June. All 22 crew members aboard the vessel were detained and most will be deported, Israeli authorities said. The Israeli navy threatened to fire on the boat, which identified itself as a civilian ship bringing supplies to the Gaza Strip, and noted they had been cleared for sail by Cyprus customs authorities.

The ship was nonetheless boarded and taken over, then brought to the Israeli port of Ashdod where activists were taken to prison facilities.source

Terrorists Kill 17 Year Old Girl

A group of Israeli intelligence forces disguised as tourists entered the Haram Ash-Sharif or sacred compound holding the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque Friday morning and walked into the mosque taking photos of several sites in the compound, the Al-Aqsa organization for Waqf and Heritage revealed.

The organization documented the invasion of the holy site on a video camera. When the disguised intelligence unit realized they were being filmed, the organization said, their police detained Waqf journalist Mahmoud Abu Ata for four hours.

Founded by freshman Arab-Israeli Knesset legislator Hanin Zoabi of the Balad party, I’lam does not hide its agenda: to question the legitimacy of Israel in the court of world opinion.

Zoabi, a self-described Palestinian with Israeli citizenship, co-founded the NGO I’lam. Under her guidance, I’lam issued press statements, engaged in lobbying over policy, led tours for foreign correspondents, provided information on Israeli-Arabs to Jewish journalists, and ran Arabic language courses in journalism.

Ms. Zoabi went on the record with the Jerusalem Post as saying that she supported Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons as a counterbalance to Israel.

In the interview she also stated that she is not loyal to the state of Israel as currently constituted. MK Zoabi, in her capacity as director of I’lam, helped draft and signed the Haifa Declaration. The Declaration was a proposal, supported by a large cross section of Arab civil society, which called for the negation of Israel’s Jewish identity and for a “comprehensive change in Israeli policy, whereby Israel abandons its destructive role towards the peoples of the region…”

Most recently, Zoabi had kind words to say about the armed rebellion against Israel. As she said to Australian news outlet GreenLeft, “We don’t live in the territories, we cannot throw stones and we cannot participate in the legitimate resistance against occupation.”

I’lam is also connected with the Washington DC-based New Israel Fund, an American Jewish philanthropic foundation, which also sponsors Israeli-Arab NGOs Adalah and Mossawa. All these groups call for the removal of Israel’s Jewish identity and for the return of Arab refugees to the lands inside the 1948 armistice lines. In addition to receiving funds from the NIF, I’lam is also a grantee of the organization Al-Quds: Capital of Arab Culture, a group spawned by both the Palestinian Authority and the Arab League.

Among other charges laid against Israel in the materials distributed by I’lam are accusations that the Hebrew media contains “encouragement for killing and destruction” and that the editors of Ma’ariv “call for the destruction of cities, wiping out villages, and killing children.”

In the same press release, I’lam claimed, “The Israeli media should not shape public opinion that is separate from its surrounding environment [the Arab world] and from international public opinion” and demanded that “the Israeli media to avoid the militant, patriotic performance that it adopts.” I’lam has also made the claim that “Israeli authorities have been responsible for over 400 violations of journalists’ rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, ranging from mere bureaucratic harassment to outright killings.”

In a press release dated March 4, 2009, I’lam Empowerment Coordinator Zaher Boulos issued a “cry of solidarity with the Palestinian people who hold strong to the establishment of a Palestinian state that is independent with Jerusalem as its capital and the return of the refugees to their homes” at the annual conference of the Forum of Journalists, an I’lam affiliate of which he is also coordinator.

At the conference, the Forum resolved “support for the Palestinian people in their struggle for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and the return of refugees.” Also in March, I’lam issued a press release stating that Israel cannot “liquidate the fact that Jerusalem is the capital of Arab culture and will be the future capital of a Palestinian state, and tomorrow will be the focal point of the Arab and Islamic world and the progressive forces in the world.” The terminology in I’lam’s media publications rebound with terms such as “massacre” and “ethnic cleansing.”

In a video I’lam produced, entitled Lama Zafouk, the charge is made that Israeli security forces engaged in executions of unarmed and cowering Arabs. According to the video, “Three soldiers went down, wearing green. They went down to this area. They beat two young men that were hiding under the olive tree, and killed them in cold blood at a range of two meters.”

In her position as director of I’lam, Hanin Zoabi attended events such as Israel Apartheid Week. She also issued calls for Arabs to refuse any form of national service in Israel.

In 2008, the organization held a conference in Ramallah with journalists from the PA which “aimed to develop and facilitate working relationships between Palestinians journalists in Israel and in the West Bank, and to discuss the role of the Palestinian media on both sides of the Green Line” as well as exploring “strategies for Palestinian media practitioners in addressing Israeli, European, and U.S.-American media.”

The current director of I’lam, Sanaa Hammoud, came to I’lam after serving as a consultant in the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s Negotiations Affairs Department. Meanwhile, Wadea Awawdy, a former member of the board of directors, has worked as a correspondent for the official Palestinian Authority publication Al-Ayyam.

Statements of support for Hamas, which is termed the “Palestinian resistance,” and a link to the website of Hamas’s armed wing, the Essedeen Al-Qassam Brigades, given as a legitimate source of information, have been found on a blog identified as belonging to I’lam’s International Relations Coordinator, Nasser Victor Rego (http://nasrawi.blogspot.com/2009/01/palestinian-resistance-around-80.html).

On May 16, 2007, the day the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas ended, Nasser used his online identity as the blogger Nasrawi to post a comment in which he gives regards on behalf of the staff of I’lam. “Stay strong—regards from me and all the staff at I’lam.”

(And just what is wrong with that may I ask? After all they'd just been bombarded for 22 days with white phosphorous and DIME missiles with 1400 innocent dead including 400 children. So yeah, stay strong!)

Nasser also left a comment on another blog in which he said, “Unfortunately for Israel, Hamas is not playing the same game. It could very well play the same game if weakened enough, but it seems a genuinely emancipatory liberation and resistance movement… Israel is targeting civilians in the Strip to deflect and neutralize sentiment and action of a genuine liberation of Palestinians from subjugation.”

Meanwhile, I’lam board member Anton Shalhat has previously been prevented from leaving Israel due to a recommendation from the General Security Services that stated that he may “harm the security of the state.”

The New Israel Fund says that it supports Israel as a Jewish state. In an e-mail statement to independent journalist Harris Phillipson, an NIF spokesperson wrote, “The New Israel Fund does not require ideological conformity from its grantees, and we differ with many of them on key issues. What we look for in grantees is the ability and track record to make a difference in advancing real social change in Israel, and a general commonality of values. Supporting I’lam’s work in no way signifies that NIF agrees with their position on the right of return or other difficult issues, only that we expect them to conform to our very rigorous standards for using our grant to execute their work.”

Canadian writer and activist Naomi Klein and her husband Avi Lewis, a documentary film director and a presenter on Al-Jazeera TV, were detained Monday while leaving Gaza for Israel. Yael Lerer, founder of the Andalus publishing house, said the two had been held for three and a half hours while she waited for them outside the crossing. Lewis said they were detained because their names sounded Jewish and Israeli to the soldiers; people with Israeli passports are forbidden from entering Gaza. They said Shin Bet security agents questioned Lewis while Klein stood by.

Klein, author of "No Logo" (published in Israel by Babel), is visiting here to promote her book "The Shock Doctrine," which Andalus is publishing in Hebrew. She arrived last Thursday night and took part in a demonstration against the separation fence near the West Bank village of Bil'in. She also had meetings at the American Colony Hotel in East Jerusalem, and spent two days in Gaza. We were in international waters on a boat delivering humanitarian aid to people in Gaza when the Israeli Navy ships surrounded us and illegally threatened us, dismantled our navigation equipment, boarded and confiscated the ship.

All of us on board were then taken off the ship and into custody, and brought into Israel and imprisoned. Immigration officials in Israel said they did not want to keep us, but we remain imprisoned. State Department and White House officials have not effected our release or taken a strong public stance to condemn the illegal actions of the Israeli Navy of enforcing a blockade of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians of Gaza, a blockade that has been condemned by President Obama. read it all HERE

Gaza aid activists held by Israel

A group of peace activists including four Britons are being held in "appalling" conditions in an Israeli prison after seizure of their boat carrying aid to Gaza, their supporters have claimed.

The 21 campaigners, including Nobel peace laureate Mairead Maguire from Northern Ireland, are being held at Givon jail in Ramla, Israel, according to the Free Gaza Movement.

In a brief email, one of the group said: "Conditions at the prison are appalling, 14-20 to a cell measuring 7m by 7m. Mairead forcibly removed in handcuffs and status unknown."

Eight British and Irish activists were among those detained by the Israeli authorities on board the boat Spirit of Humanity as they tried to transport humanitarian supplies to Gaza.

They have been named as: Ishmahil Blagrove, a Jamaican-born journalist based in the UK; the boat's captain, Denis Healey, who is from the UK; British journalist Fathi Jaouadi; British activist Alex Harrison; Theresa McDermott, from Scotland; Adnan Mormech, from Rusholme, Manchester; Derek Graham, an Irish electrician; and Ms Maguire. link

Action Alert: Protests in front of Israeli embassies tomorrow

London, 2 July, (ECESG) – The European campaign to end the siege on Gaza (ECESG) called today for international human rights organizations and lobbying groups to organize large protests in front of Israeli embassies across Europe in solidarity with activists of Freegaza Movement. Activists onboard of the humanitarian boat were kidnapped by Israeli naval forces while they were sailing in a peaceful mission to end the siege.

The call aims at creating factual movements on the ground to release “the spirit of humanity” activists. Additionally, head of ECESG, Dr. Arafat Madi contacted EU officials and MPs to urge on moving to release the activists immediately.

British Baroness, Jenny Tonge, expressed her deep anger and concerns towards the Israeli doing. She said that, “I shall take up the matter with the Foreign office.”

Sinn Féin Justice Spokesperson Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD has described the Israeli government’s decision to board and hijack a peace boat on route to Gaza carrying medical aid as contemptible, adding; “The piracy of the Israeli Navy in boarding the boat in international waters and towing it towards Israel this is yet another astounding example of just how beyond reproach this administration believes it is.”

The boat was boarded by highly-profiled people like Mairead Maguire, winner of a Noble Peace Prize and a former U.S. congressperson, Cynthia McKinney. The vessel was forcibly taken to one of the Israeli seaports under direct threats from naval boats.

Maguire, winner of a Noble Peace Prize was taken against her will and isolated from the rest of the team. The Israeli army cared about neither her old age nor her position. Two activists were released only while the rest are in Israeli detention of Ramallah. The exemplary punishment against the activists is a small glimpse of what’s happening to 12 thousand Palestinians in Israeli jails.

ECESG is organizing a number of protests in various European
countries to call on releasing the kidnapped peace activists.

He denies that the Islamists want to wipe out Israel and assures us that they can work things out. He feels that the U.S. can accomplish curbing Israel rather than the terrorists.

So third, he is having envoy Mitchell set up in Jerusalem a headquarters for U.S. counterparts to every Israeli security executive. The purpose is to second-guess the Israelis and to subvert them, as a colonial power does to natives. This includes citing U.S. reports minimizing Israeli security needs.

Imagine Israel complaining about some other “colonial power” country interfering, and then referring to “Poor little Israel” as the “natives” Three Words POT-KETTLE-BLACK. This statement he makes stands in stark contrast to the truth which is that the Palestinians are the natives and Israel is the “colonial Power” interfering in their country. Like I said, total comedy, but nice “hasbara” attempt.)

PM Netanyahu is not expected to tell the U.S. officials to back off. How will he handle this unwanted U.S. interference in behalf of Israel’s enemies? So far, Netanyahu has tried talking with Mitchell for hours. But the U.S. is adamant. Netanyahu is wasting valuable time. Netanyahu has to extricate himself from the Obama-Mitchell trap.

In addition to demanding that Israel give up the strategic mountain provinces of Judea and Samaria, plus Gaza Strip, U.S. envoy Mitchell demands that Israel cede the strategic Golan Heights. He depicts this as part of peace-making

The U.S. would strip Israel of strategic borders past which the Arabs repeatedly launched attacks on Israel. It would give those regions, some of which now are parts of the State of Israel, to Arabs who still want to destroy what would be left of Jewish sovereignty. That is not peace-making. It invites war by boosting the prospects of victory, irresistible to jihadists.
